Sweet Revenge's
Chapter 38: The Reunion

The clerk took Eryk and Rainer to the third floor of the quieter ship, where they were led into a small dark box-sized room, with long chairs and tables attached to the wall, "Please you come inside" he said as he opened the door courteously.

Eryk and Rainer glanced at each other, throwing signals whether this was safe or a trap.

"Light the light" said Eryk.

"I'm sorry, but I can't sir, it's been designed like this" the employee said politely.

Eryk glanced at Rainer who was beside him, "I go in first if anything happens, you know what you have to do Rainer."

Rainer looked at Eryk, "We better forget this,

"Uh, sorry to interrupt Master's conversation, but this is a special place for the auction solo, the participants were separated because they asked for their identity to be known. On the table there is a button as a notification if you want to bid," the employee explained. "Related to the lights, since long ago we have never been turned on to minimize the identity of participants caught by other participants."

Eryk thought for a moment; since long ago? "How many times has this auction been held?"

"At once a year Mr" said the official. "This is the third auction."

Eryk understood so if he didn't take this chance, he would have to wait another year to come along, and of course he would have waited that long, "I'm coming."

"But Eryk," said Rainer disagreed. "Better we draw up another plan."

Eryk shook his head, "The more I buy time the more I lose my chance to find Katherine and Kervyn." he looked seriously at Rainer. "I'm sorry, I understand you're worried, but I'm sure it's true."

Rainer exhaled, then looked at the Servant, trying to negotiate, "Can I go in the back? No way, isn't this door locked once we get in?"

"Of course you can" said the employee still in a polite tone.

Rainer nodded, "Well, you can, I'll be here looking at the situation first."

Eryk nodded, then went inside which after a few seconds of entering the door was closed making the light outside blocked until the room was getting darker, he sat down on the chair he had been provided with and realized that if there was a glass in front of him, he touched it to make sure, "Thick, strong barrier of light from the lamp to keep it from coming here."

Eryk thinks this is so carefully prepared, this organizer must have rented this before or he prepared it for a long time.

The light on the outside of the glass lit up, revealing a small room there, and Eryk realized there was another glass room there surrounding the small room, it must be where the bidders were.

As per Eryk's approximate remarks, the outside light did not penetrate completely into his room only a few remnants that could make him see the red button on his desk used to bid according to what the Officer said and a tablet with a calculator picture? Make nominal typing seem

Eryk supported his chin while crossing his legs, waiting.

A tall man wearing a mask on his face went inside with an elegant step, he stood in the middle and began to introduce himself, "Good night the participants, as I promised earlier, there's gonna be another one, something special."

Eryk got up from his seat while hitting the table, his bored face changing emotions.

Eryk could not see the man's face, but his body structure, gestures and blond hair color made him believe it was Kervyn, and his voice was almost the same as the last time they had a duel in the forest.

The masked man's face suddenly turned to Eryk, "This special auction I present to someone so special to me has come all the way here."

Eryk gritted his teeth, "Kervyn."

The masked man reached out to the door he had entered, "Come, it's okay."

A woman who hit the mask also went inside by being pushed forcibly, she almost lost her balance if only the man did not catch her immediately.

Eryk's blue eyes widened, "No way ..."

Clothing, long black hair, until the structure of the woman's body matched that of Katherine.

Eryk clenched his strong hand trying to hold back his emotions that were about to explode.

The masked man led the woman to the center to be seen by the auctioneer, "This time the auction is this beautiful woman, she is a person who is adept at cooking and singing is certainly a perfect woman."

The woman turned her face which had been bowed to the floor since then, her brown eyes radiating a great sense of fear.

"Katherine." call Eryk slowly, he immediately presses the button to bid.

"Oh calm down, I haven't finished talking about this woman, I know you want her" the masked man said with a small laugh as if mocking Eryk.

Eryk didn't care to keep pressing the button.

"My, my, there's something impatient apparently" said the masked man. "All right, let's start this auction, starting with Mr." he said, pointing to Eryk's room.

Eryk honestly worried about how much money he would put up because he was the first, bargaining cheap or immediately expensive, he knew Katherine would not judge bad just because of this cheap offer, he said, it's just that he feels this offer as his feeling, "I have to beraβ€”"

"Hello? Is anyone there?" ask the masked man. "Your time is up so others can put up an offer now."

"Five thousand dollars" said the masked man.

Beyond a doubt, the number of offers is already high, even though the description of Katherine is ordinary, do they buy because of other things?

Eryk immediately pressed, then typed the price on the touch screen with the calculator attached to the table and sent it.

"Ah, ten thousand dollars" said the masked man.

Eryk clenched his hand when he saw the room opposite him bid even higher.

"Twenty thousand dollars" said the masked man. "High numbers, if that's what his cheer is, I'll take off his mask."

Eryk immediately pressed the button before the masked man had time to remove the mask on Katherine's face, "Shβ€”" honestly he did not want to waste a lot of money, he said, but if Katherine's face is exposed there is a possibility of being the subject of jokes from other participants if they do not meet intentionally outside the auction, he typed the nominal number with a heavy heart.

"Wow, a hundred thousand dollars" said the masked man flattered.

Eryk squinted his eyes, "You're really crafty." he said.

Eryk was able to get Katherine, but in exchange for his savings, he felt that since the beginning Kervyn was after the money. Which is confused why at the auction event is not like ordinary theft that only asks for a ransom.

Is there anything else?

"So anyone wants to bid higher?" ask the masked man.

Eryk hoped anxiously that other participants would not bid higher, otherwise the rest of his savings would be completely depleted, and was forced to use his father's inheritance money stored in a Swiss bank.

"Deal. We've got the antidote."

Eryk breathed a sigh of relief, but to his surprise without saying anything, the masked man led Katherine out of the room, "Hey!" he immediately came out of the room that was detained by the officer.

"Sir."

Eryk raised his eyebrows; why did this employee not return to duty instead wait for him outside? It must have been Kervyn, his anger rising again, "Side."

"I'm sorry you can't, sir, you have to pay the money that was agreed upon at the auction" the employee said. "Please follow me to the place of repayment."

Eryk exhaled, and followed the officer.

***

After paying the agreed auction money, Eryk was asked to wait in the middle room on the fourth floor, before he asked where Rainer was, but was answered not to know by the clerk. He knows Rainer likes to be alone, but leaving all this time is not natural.

Is there anything?

Eryk checked the watch in his hand, it had been more than thirty minutes he waited here like a fool, he began to think what this is Kervyn's trick again, his brother really knows how to upset him.

He had to pay using his Swiss bank which forced him to use his father's inheritance.

"Oh," Eryk saw two officers walking towards him holding a woman he knew who, without further ado, he approached, "Take her off."

They said they released their hand grip on the woman's upper arm.

The woman stroked the man's grip, which was now flushed, before looking at Eryk, "Eryk ..."

Eryk did not reply, instead running and hugging the woman tightly, spilling all his feelings he had been holding back all this time, "Thank God you're okay, Katherine."

Katherine hugged Eryk tightly back as well, "I'm so afraid I can't see you again, Eryk."

Eryk stroked Katherine's soft black hair, "You're safe now."

"I know" said Katherine.

A round of applause, stopping the conversation between the two of them, looking for where it came from.

"Aww ... heartwarming reunion ..." said Kervyn as he touched his 'shattering' chest'.
