Chapter 5: One Step Closer

Silent...

"Or I forgot to put it," Gaea added in embarrassment. "Ha, ha, ha..."

After all, his student card was in high school, it was a long time ago, so it might be lost because of his own negligence not stolen, why steal the useless thing anyway? Sillier.

On the other hand Eryk was annoyed, he was really anxious but Gaea even played around with his feelings. This is the reason why he does not like to hang out with women, they are so dizzying. "I'm serious about you."

Eryk fell silent, thinking again; of course Gaea's explanation made sense; who would willingly break into security for a cheap school identity card? But he also could not underestimate the slightest hint.

Maybe Eryk is too paranoid?

The ringing sound broke their silence.

Eryk slightly stayed away to receive a call on his phone; rainer. "Hello?"

"You guys okay?" ask Rainer across the phone.

"Yes" answered Eryk. "What about the criminal?"

"She managed to escape," said Rainer; the information from Eryk was too little, just telling her to stop the person coming out of the elevator; he managed to meet after going to the parking lot below there was a car that almost hit him and Alex so he concluded that was the culprit. Before Eryk could retaliate, he hurriedly added. "I've been tracking the license plate, the car's rented, I know where it is, you want to go?" tanyakanya.

Eryk took a deep breath. "No" he answered briefly. "Let's meet me there, and don't let go of your surveillance."

Checking the car rental takes time, so Eryk prefers to send someone else to get there.

"Of course,"

Eryk put his phone back, his blue eyes back to Gaea. "I hate to say this, you're coming with me."

"What?" Gaea did not believe what she had just heard. "Why?"

If every fight with Gaea could get him a dollar, maybe Eryk would consider it.

Eryk walks out of the apartment, however Gaea does not want to.

"Don't make me carry you again" said Eryk knowing Gaea was disobedient.

Eryk may be handsome but over-ruling.

"Gaea." call Eryk impatient.

Gaea rolled her eyeballs, without answering, she came out of the apartment.

As soon as Gaea and Eryk get in the car.

Alex joking. "It's not a good move for a bride like you."

"Shut your mouth, and do your job properly" said Eryk coldly.

"I'm just trying to melt the mood" Alex said as he stepped on his pedal.

"Your jokes are crisp" Rainer said.

"Oh, I'm sorry I forgot I was with two virgins." Alex said.

Gaea laughed a little hearing that. "I like you."

"It's Alex, baby" Alex said, combing her brown hair with pride. "Of course I'm 'loveable'. Don't be boring like the two of them, Gaea."

Gaea shook her head. "No. I'm fine being myself."

Eryk eventually ran out of the patience he had. "It's funny. It hasn't been an hour since I calmed down a poor woman who was shaking violently." she explained.

"aww... Mr. Eryk is jealous." Alex's tease.

"I heard it."

Alex laughed, followed by Gaea.

"Can you all not fight?" Rainer was also hooked. "You're Alex, too, you're driving, danger knows." he warned.

Alex realized his mistake. "Sorry, man." Unfortunately, he was too preoccupied with teasing Eryk into losing his focus.

"I'm sorry too" said Gaea, feeling she deserved a scolding as well because she was following a flirt.

"Wow, great you're Alex" said Eryk in amazement. "You can make Gaea apologize." she said. "Should I make you a reminder trophy for Alex?"

Gaea rolled her eyeballs; now who was acting like a child?

Sometimes he does not understand why Eryk still says like a child considering the age of Eryk who stepped 25 years, if he is still understood because he was 19 years old but Eryk?

Maybe Eryk was a child trapped in an adult's body.

Where did the nickname 'cold boss' go'? Or Eryk is like this is actually just hiding behind the fake nature of the cold.

"Just run it, Alex" said Gaea.

"Double wow,"

Gaea rolled her eyeballs. "I try not to start a fight" he said.

"Listen to him, Eryk." said Rainer, he was also tired of hearing the quarrels of the two although it was pleasant for Eryk to let out another emotion that reminded him of the old Eryk but this was starting to suck.

Eryk listened, no longer issued his sarcophagus, he himself was confused why every time he was with Gaea, his childish nature came out naturally, he was always calm, but with Gaea made him lose his formal attitude, he is like his old self.

"Mr..." Gaea heard Rainer's voice from one open brown door, and he approached, peering hesitantly inside; rainer was there, taking out a laptop in his black bag. He sat on the side out of curiosity. "What are you doing?"

"Do my duty" Rainer said without taking his eyes off the white laptop.

Gaea glanced a little, looking at something familiar. "You hacked the CCTV here!?"

Rainer glanced in interest. "I'm impressed you know about this" he said briefly and continued his work breaking into surveillance cameras on the floor they occupied.

"I learned a little" Gaea admitted a little embarrassment. "Why are you doing this? Wouldn't it be easy to watch outside?" and again breaking into the surveillance camera is not easy and fast, they have to find the IP address and the hardest to find the password and the name of the camera if it does not succeed must hack it.

That's what Gaea knows, he is not too deep in learning about hacking, therefore he is always amazed if there is someone who undergoes the profession as a Hacker.

"Eryk asked me to do it" Rainer said. "He wanted to ascertain whether his new business partner was taking action beyond his knowledge."

"Well.." Of course Gaea had heard of it.

"You don't fit in our world" Rainer admitted. "Therefore I can't believe you were the one who broke into Eryk's den."

Gaea was stunned to hear it, her heartbeat rose slightly. "Thank you for believing in me" he said embarrassedly. "When people don't trust me." she continued sadly.

Rainer who saw the sadness in Gaea's tone, said quietly. "Don't judge a book by it's cover."

"Huh?"

"That's all I can say now" said Rainer, then gently stroked Gaea's head. "Don't be sad, you're sweeter when you smile."

Gaea instantly blushed red, she did not expect Rainer would say something like that to her, this is Rainer, the man who 'I'm too cool for this'.

"So can you just stay a little bit away from me so I can concentrate?" cold Pinta Rainer.

Gaea puffed her cheeks, whereas just a second ago she was flattered by Rainer's seduction, now the young man is back to being an emo again.

What's this hot and cold Rainer attitude? Don't be the second Eryk!

Still puffing her cheeks, Gaea moved across from Rainer and checked the food menu here without noticing the faint smile on Rainer's lips...

"I apologize for my delay Mr. Aizawa." regretted Eryk as soon as his foot stepped into the room knowing Aizawa was already inside. "You did your best while I let you down."

"Just calm down Eryk-san" Aizawa said as she greeted Eryk's hand and shook it. "I also just got thirty minutes ago, haven't ordered so it's okay."

Thirty minutes ago I was told you had just arrived? Like that Japanese upbringing? Greatable.

"Then if allowed, I would recommend the best menu here as I promised" Eryk said as he sat in the black chair directly across from Aizawa.

"Sure," said Aizawa.

"Alex," call Eryk. "Call the Chef."

Alex nodded, then came out after muttering 'excuse me'.

"The chef?" ask Aizawa.

Eryk nodded. "I prepare the best that the Chef here will cook in front of you Mr. Aizawa."

"Wow," Aizawa chuckled in admiration. "I can't wait to see it."

"So can we start?" ask Eryk.

Aizawa shields her chin. "Sure,"

Eryk placed his suitcase on the table, then opened it, revealing the pink diamond ring that was inside. "I want this to be auctioned off at the end of the show" he said. "Because I want to prepare the best at the end of the show."

And of course make sure Kervyn is there.

"Oh," Aizawa's small black eyes were rounded. "Is this The Perfect Pink?"

Eryk nodded. "Of course, I also have a certificate of authenticity, there is indeed a little difficulty finding the owner because of the previous auction, they refused to have his name published" he explained. "But after a long journey, I was able to find this beautiful ring."

Aizawa put on a glove, then took the ring up while it was held back and forth to see the authenticity of the ring. "Great Eryk-san." he praised. "You got a deal." he continued, extending his hand.

"Ah, that" said Eryk; in his heart he cursed the video that entered his work now supposedly before the video spread far, far away, he could have asked Rainer to remove it but because his mind was messed up so the idea didn't cross his head. "My engagement's at home."

"I think I saw it from up here" Aizawa said. "Can you introduce him to me?"

Eryk frowned, feeling something strange but he removed the feeling and said. "Sure, I'll call him,"

"Can I come?"

Eryk refuses by raising his hand, if Aizawa comes along then Rainer's work will be uncovered and the business will be canceled. "I'm sorry, but my fiancee is a little shy so I have to persuade her myself."

"All right,"

Eryk came out of the room, which was when Alex appeared with Chef beside him. "I want you to do your 'magic' to Gaea because I'm going to introduce her to Aizawa."

Alex's brown eyes widened. "What's? You're crazy, aren't you!?" tanyakanya.

"I had no choice, Alex" said Eryk; introducing Gaea as his official fiance to his business partner was something he had not thought of, not even he had done to Katherine. "You think I'm happy myself?"

"Whatever, man," said Alex indifferently. "Anyways you're gonna keep fighting with Katherine."

Eryk realized if he had not contacted Katherine at all about this fake proposal, he could not do it because in the middle of his business.

Eryk received the bitter pill, and asked the black-haired Chef to go inside with him.

Gaea exhaled, until when should she wait? Fifteen minutes have passed.

It's boring here even though the food is delicious, but with Rainer just busy with a laptop without talking to him it doesn't help him.

Rainer took a cup of green tea inside, glancing at Gaea who now only plays sushi with a bored face. "You can't be that way with food" he said. "Don't you know a lot of jealous people want to be in your position right now?"

"I'm bored" lamented Gaea.

"And I don't care" said Rainer coldly. "Seat your food, and then we'll talk again."

Gaea folded her arms, irritated by Rainer's attitude, but she thought Rainer thought she was a friend after helping find classical songs.

Unable to bear it, he stood up, then walked towards the door in annoyance.

"Where are you going?" ask Rainer.

"Toilet," said Gaea coldly. "Maybe I can find something interesting there."

Silent.

Gaea glanced back and more emotion saw Rainer leaning back while eating the sushi played by him earlier.

'How dare he.'

Gaea rolled her eyeballs, what would Rainer do if he could have fun on his own?

Forget Rainer.

In spirit, Gaea opened the door, "Eh?" he was surprised to find Alex behind the door, seemingly about to open it as well. "What's wrong?"

"We're gonna make you look like a princess,"
