The atmosphere in the room now looked awkward. Moreover, Aisha's gaze this time was slightly different to Zafran. Slowly he stepped closer to the bed where Zafran was lying, not forgetting that he greeted Sofi.
"Why haven't you been honest all this time?" ask the veiled woman to Zafran.
"Sorry, Ayesha. I-I did not mean to lie to you" Zafran replied stammered.
Sofi's mother, who felt that Zafran and Aisyah had to speak, decided to stay away from them and approach her future ironclad who was still standing by the door with Ainun. Not to forget he invited them to sit together on the sofa in the room.
"How are you doing now?" ask Aisyah.
"As you can see, yes. I can only resign to my circumstances" replied Zafran slowly. He now glanced towards Aisyah who now looked sad.
How not sad, the prospective husband who plans to marry her in a few weeks will actually now have to lie limp in the hospital.
"Aisha, I will not force you to wait for me, if na...."
"I will wait until you are healed, focus on treatment first" Aisyah said quickly before Zafran finished his words.
"But Ayesha ...."
"If we are fooled, God willing, how big the obstacles that are in front of us will certainly be exposed as well" said Aisyah.
"But if we don't match, how much of our efforts to wait for each other will still not end as we planned" Zafran said with teary eyes, made Aisyah reflexively look into the eyes of the man before her.
There was turmoil in the eyes of the man who seemed to want to bring out all the feelings that had haunted his mind, but he still did not dare to take it out because honestly, the man still wanted Aisyah to be his wife. Is he selfish to expect perfection in the midst of his imperfections?
Aisyah was bowed again while taking tissue from her small bag when she realized the man before her was now shedding tears.
"Please don't cry, you don't think about things that are not-no, we will always pray for the good for you" Aisyah said as she offered a tissue to Zafran.
The man smiled as he received tissue from his future wife."Thank you" he said slowly.
He felt so embarrassed when he looked weak in front of his future wife, but how else, under these circumstances, his feelings were so melow even as if fragile, and he couldn't force his body to act tough.
Meanwhile, Aisyah's parents are also talking to Sofi's mother.
"I'm sorry, we came all of a sudden" said Ms. Lina.
"Ah, that's okay, but how do you know we're here?" ask Sofi's mother.
"Over these few days, Aisyah has always been pacing back and forth to Zafran's office in order to meet her assistant and secretary, she feels that something is going on with you, so Aisyah wants to know about you. And maybe because of pity with Aisyah, finally Zafran's assistant gave information that Zafran is sick and is being treated here," explained Kiai Rahman.
Sofi's mother nodded in understanding. "I'm sorry we didn't tell you this" he said.
"It's okay, Mom, we understand" said Ms. Lina.
"Sorry, ma'am. What is Mr. Zafran's current condition?" ask Ainun who helped sympathize with Aisyah's future husband.
Sofi's mother for a moment looked at the girl who looked the same age as Aisyah and then turned to look at her iron candidate, making Lina's mother understand the purpose of the gaze.
"Oh yeah, introduce me, ma'am. This is Ainun, Aisyah's best friend since the pesantren," explained Ms. Lina.
Ainun looked stunned at the explanation of the middle-aged woman before him. But suddenly he remembered something.
"Sorry, ma'am, I'll excuse you first" said the girl so politely.
"Yes, son," replied Sofi's mother.
The girl then exited Zafran's outpatient room to make a phone call with someone.
"We are very sad to hear that as much as possible we will help son Zafran to find a kidney donor for him" said Kiai Rahman.
"Thank you, sir. But Akmal said he had obtained a donor suitable for Zafran," said Ibu Sofi.
"Alhamdulillah, then when is the operation planned?" ask Sofi's mother.
"God willing, in two weeks' time, I'm sorry, it looks like the wedding should be postponed first, no problem?" Sofi's mother again felt bad.
"It's okay, Mom. We can wait," said Lina's mother.
"Thank you so much, Mom, sir" said Sofi's mother.
Shortly after, Akmal and Khaira entered the room. And unintentionally, Akmal stared at Aisyah who was also unintentionally staring at him. Again a strange sigh appeared in the man's heart, though he tried hard to convince himself that his heart would not be swayed by anyone including the woman before him at this moment.
Without them noticing, Zafran, who was lying facing the door, saw clearly how Akmal looked at Aisyah. As an experienced man, he clearly understood the meaning of the gaze even though Akmal had never said it.
"Ummiiii," called the little girl so excited and immediately ran to hug Aisyah.
Aisyah immediately turned her gaze to the little girl who was now wrapping her hands around Aisyah's waist.
"Where are you from, honey?" ask Aisyah softly.
"Khaira had finished going around the hospital with Om, Ummi," replied Khaira excitedly. The little girl pulled Aisyah's hand to sit on the sofa with the others as she wanted to spirt with the woman.
Akmal looked at Zafran who was looking at the ceiling of the room with a blank look, he walked slowly towards him.
"What's up, Bang? Why does your face look like so many such thoughts? Be happy, Bang, your future wife came to see you" Akmal said.
Zafran turned his gaze towards his cousin's sister, he stared fixedly at Akmal's face which was now smiling cheerfully towards him. A sincere smile and a happy smile, that was all he could catch right now.
"You're so good at hiding your feelings, Mal. You've always been like that, always giving in for my happiness" Zafran said.
"Don't you?" asked Akmal again because he did not get an answer from the man.
"Oh no, I'm just sleepy, I'll rest first" Zafran replied, closing his eyes, more precisely hiding his eyes that were beginning to condense.
"Alright, rest, Bang. You do have to take a lot of rest before your surgery in two weeks" Akmal said, raising Zafran's blanket to cover his chest.
"Why are you so good, Mal. Never once did you defy what I said, you even treated me like your brother, you respected me so much. Am I being selfish if I let you back in?" zafran's inner with slightly quivering lips held the turmoil in his heart that again wanted to spill a sense of tightness in his chest.
