The cultivators from the Capital changed their positions and now stood on par with the snakes. Each of them began to besiege Xika, Huo Bing, and Heiliao no matter where they were.

Huo Bing gritted his teeth. He hated this sudden change of situation, especially if it did not benefit him. He looked at the cultivators from the Capital and realized that there was no point in negotiating with them anymore.

Although it was still doubtful, but the cultivators from the Capital had already set their options. Trying to continue negotiations will only raise more suspicion.

"Heh, what a pity. We can save the Fruit of Life. What can I do." he said smiling disappointed, but confidence never left his face. Even in any situation, he should always look confident, even if he does not feel that way.

The Old Man standing on the top tree only snorted in response to Huo Bing's remark. He only glanced at the three humans he was aiming for, then closed his eyes as if their existence no longer mattered.

On one side Xika was relieved that the Old Man had not shown any intention to join the fight, but on the other hand the attitude of the Old Man that shows that he sure does not need to fight to be able to subdue Xika and his friends makes Xika himself worried.

"CHRISTY!!!!"

A yellow snake opened its jaws and intended to grab Xika's head. He immediately lowered his body and then jumped onto another branch. Unfortunately, not until he got to another branch, two corrosive saliva pieces surrounded him from different directions.

A SHOCK!

Xika turned the Space Shifter and made most of the corrosive spit fly in the other direction, but some still hit her and made her clothes paddle.

A TAP!

Just landed, three jaws the size of his arms were ready to welcome him. Xika threw all three at the same time, but the three snakes wrapped their tails around Xika's neck making him fall down.

Instantly he felt tight. The twisting of a snake might be able to hinder him from breathing, but that was not a problem. Yet three? That was enough to make it difficult to concentrate even just to move though.

"Xika!"

Huo Bing, surrounded by snakes and humans from all directions, forced himself to turn his head to look at Xika. An action that got him three scratches on his arm, stomach and thigh.

BRUK!

Xika could not do anything so he could only resign when he was carried away falling. But the coils of the snakes loosened for a moment when they fell. Xika did not waste the opportunity and immediately broke free.

"I'm fine!" he said after rolling to keep his distance from the three snakes that had just wrapped around his neck. He touched his neck and realized there were still traces of their twists there. He swore inwardly, if he should die, then the three serpents would be the first he brought together into the underworld.

Suddenly, he felt strange movements in both of his legs. Without turning his head, he immediately burned both of his legs and stepped back. But the grip on his feet did not relax at all even though he had burned his feet.

He turned his head and found two red snakes wrapped around his feet. The snakes also glanced at her then opened their jaws and spouted out small flames that were unable to injure Xika, but made Xika understand why the fire was not working on them.

Both snakes are special snakes that can survive even in hot temperatures. Xika had even read that there was a Spirit Beast that made a volcano his home and swam around in a lava pool. Hopefully it's not both snakes at his feet.

Then he tried another element. If the heat does not work, then use pain. He made thorns from the ground around his feet to pierce the serpents' bellies.

Unfortunately, he did not feel the grip on his feet loosening in the slightest. He looked back at the two snakes and realized their shiny scales. If they can withstand the heat, then their skin should be immune to sharp weapons up to certain scales. Shit, he said in his heart.

Xika still wanted to get rid of the two snakes at her feet, but the other snakes did not give her a chance. Three other snakes had joined the previous snake wrapped around his neck and surrounded him from different directions.

Six snakes were all around him, and two snakes were entangling him. Not yet thinking what he should do, the pain emerged from both his legs. Goddamn it, these snakes not only twisted it but bit it. He knew that even if they had poison, their poison would not work on him. But that doesn't mean they can't hurt him at all.

A SHOCK!

The six snakes darted at the same time while opening their jaws wide. Shit, shit, shit! Xika cursed out loud in her heart. At the time, he had no time to think. The body moves reflexively.

THE SET!

He jumped. But it was still within the range of the fangs of the snakes that were about to approach in a split second.

THE SNACK!

Then two blackish-blue wings appeared behind his back and lifted him up high, far from the fangs of the damn snakes.

The six snakes could only look at him in confusion from below, followed by hundreds of other pairs of eyes including Huo Bing, Heiliao and the cultivators from the Capital. Xika took two breaths, then took out her card and cut off the two snakes that were still attached to her feet. This time he used the space element so that the two snakes were instantly split apart.

Huo Bing and Heiliao looked at each other, then at the same time the two fled. Huo Bing jumped up and opened both of his wings wide while Heiliao had disappeared into the black hole of her own.

"Run!"

SWOSH!

Xika immediately flapped her two wings as fast as possible chasing after Huo Bing. Without realizing it, a black shadow appeared and perched on his shoulder. He did not realize his presence until the creature said,

"Try to get closer to Huo Bing."

"Heiliao?" Xika turned her head and found a cute little wolf perched on her shoulder.

"When you get close enough, try to touch Huo Bing. I'll move you both. We do this process over and over again until the snakes lose track of us."

Nodding excitedly, Xika flapped her two wings even faster until finally catching up with Huo Bing.

A TAP!

A SHOCK!

A moment after Xika patted Huo Bing on the shoulder, the three of them immediately switched places and reappeared to the other side of the sky. Xika turned to her left and right not seeing any difference with the sky they were in before, yet Heiliao paid no heed to it.

"Keep forward" said the wolf.

Still holding onto Huo Bing's shoulder, Xika nodded and flew forward. A short while later Heiliao moved them back. This incident has continued several times.

"I'm sorry.my body's dodging reflex and the only way is to fly.." said Xika breaking the silence that had passed for a while. He felt guilty for revealing his wings which should have been a secret to the snakes.

"It's okay...after all it's the only way....In addition, we can escape thanks to you." comfort Huo Bing.

Heiliao did not say anything but his head kept looking back and down. His brows furrowed realizing something was wrong.

"Are they after us?" huo Bing asked without looking at him at all.

"No. That's exactly what's a problem. They let us go too easily. Not even a single snake was trying to catch up."

Huo Bing stopped and looked back to confirm Heiliao's words. Indeed just as that Wolf Slack had said, there were no pursuers at all. If the snakes were trying to chase after them, at least he could still see some in the distance, but he did not see them at all. That means they are not trying to catch up.

Xika, not caring about that awkwardness and breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew, thank goodness. Should we stop for a second?"

At first Huo Bing also intended to ignore the awkwardness and rest as Xika said, but she suddenly recalled a bad memory. A memory of a snake-shaped creature, but not a snake. A memory of a snake-shaped creature, but has legs and wings. A memory of a creature called a dragon.

"I have a bad feeling about this. Just keep moving forward. As much as possible don't stop unless we've reached a city full of cultivators."

Xika somewhat disagreed with Huo Bing, but noticing the bird's expression made her undo the intention to protest. He nodded in agreement and flapped his wings again while Heiliao on his shoulder continued to look back and down.

A few minutes passed without anything happening. But I don't know why the tension in the air is getting so pronounced. Even Xika who had started to relax again was wary of feeling this increasingly stronger awkward feeling.

Suddenly Heiliao shouted, "AWAS!"

But late. A giant black-colored whip had struck Xika and Huo Bing with a slump on their backs and made them fall instantly onto the trees below.

BRUAK!!!

The three fell through dozens of twigs until it stopped at one twig that was large enough and thick to hold them.

Xika felt a tremendous dizziness in her head. He could not move for a moment. Huo Bing and Heiliao were not as bad as Xika, but they still received a mild impact. Each of them immediately took out the Fruit of Life and bit it, then they felt better.

"Fuck, what the fuck?!" asked Xika while holding her head that was still dizzy even though it was not much after she ate the Fruit of Life.

Huo Bing did not have time to speak, there was a very loud flapping sound of wings near them. Xika turned her head and realized Huo Bing was beside her, so the flapping of the wings was not from Huo Bing. Then where did it come from?

Accompanied by the sound of flapping wings that sounded louder, the trees around them began to collapse until finally showing a giant creature that has a length instead of playing. On both of his back flapped two large wings of blackish red. The creature's body was dark black with spines filling most of its body. Under his body, tread the four feet firm and firm.

In front of Xika, Heiliao, and Huo Bing stood a dragon.
