Halfway to the Pavilion, Heiliao thought of something.
"Xika, get into the nearest alley."
Xika's expression changed. He followed Heiliao's words and walked into a nearby alley.
"What's wrong? Are we being followed? How many people?" ask Xika who has turned the Space Shifter into a stick. It seemed that he had misunderstood Heiliao's intentions.
"No. No one followed. I just want to talk to you about something."
"Good then."
Xika's expression relaxed again. Space Shifter is back as a bracelet.
"What's wrong?"
"You want to find information about both your parents and your uncle, right?"
Xika nodded.
Heiliao was silent for a moment, hesitating to continue. But he finally decided to say what he was thinking.
"I think you should just find out about your uncle."
Xika frowned hearing Heiliao's words.
"Why? Then how do I know my parents?"
"I mean, you don't ask anything about your parents to the Pavilion."
Xika seemed to want to protest and Heiliao noticed. He continued,
"I know the current Pavilion is the fastest way to know the state of your parents. But that's not the only way.
Look, I think it's good we're careful. Of the two young men we met in the tavern earlier, you already know that the Pavilion in this city is only a branch of the Pavilion in the capital, right? That means they have abilities that cannot be underestimated. Until we know that the Pavilion is indeed on our side, it's best that we don't reveal our identity."
"What do you mean by parties?"
Heiliao glanced at Huo Bing then said,
"You know what I mean. The snakes. I knew it was Spirit Beasts business and nothing to do with humans. But you have to remember that humans are the most unpredictable creatures. You don't know which side they're going to choose. Even they could not choose and create a new party.
The pavilion has roots in the capital. But believe me, this world is vast, not limited to just the Lin Dynasty."
"Dynasty Lin?"
Heiliao sighed for a moment. He forgot to explain this to Xika during his time at the tomb.
"Right, the Lin Dynasty is the place where we live. Your uncle's clan is in the outermost and most remote part of the Lin Dynasty. Then the cities that you robbed and that have tombs are located in the middle. Not the outer part but also not the central part. The Yuan City we visited is also still included in the middle.
The capital where the main Pavilion was located was the central part of the Lin Dynasty. But the Lin Dynasty was not the only country in the Card Continent. There are others. Like the Dong Dynasty bordering the Lin Dynasty.
I don't know why but I'm sure your parents weren't in the Lin Dynasty. So asking the Pavilion will only bring harm to us."
"Then why ask my uncle not to bring danger?"
"Because it's natural to worry about your family."
Xika looked at Heiliao with an astonished look. His eyebrows shriveled as deep as he could.
"Maybe you don't know, but for humans 'parents' also include 'family'."
"I knew. But not with the Pavilion."
Heiliao paused for a while only to see Xika's face growing confused.
"The Pavilion knows that you are a family from Fa Diala. But they don't know you're your parents' son."
Xika was silent for a moment. Then he asked again.
"But why? What is so special about my parents? Why would my identity as their child put me in danger?"
"Because your parents are not ordinary cultivators."
Xika's eyes widened hearing Heiliao's words. A spark of hope appeared in his eyes.
"W-do you....know my parents?"
"I know them. But don't know him. They managed to stir up the world of cultivators. Even news of them spread all the way to the Spirit Beast."
The spark of hope in Xika's eyes grew stronger.
"Then"
"-no. I don't have a clue about them. I only heard of their lunge in the world of cultivators, never meeting in person."
"Then can you tell me about my parents?" xika asked with a twinkle of hope. But the expectations are different than before.
"I'll tell you. But not now."
Heiliao's first sentence made Xika widen her eyes, while her second sentence shrunk Xika's eyes and buried all the twinkle of hope deeply.
"Because knowing something isn't always good, Xika."
"But they're my parents. I deserve to know about them."
Heiliao nodded.
"You are entitled. But that's why I can't tell you now."
Xika sighed. It seemed that whatever he said would not make Heiliao talk. In addition, his attitude has now become more mysterious.
"When are you gonna tell me about them?"
"When the time has come."
"Very clear. Thank you." replied Xika somewhat annoyed with Heiliao.
Then he asked again.
"Do you know anything about poetry or divination?"
"There are many poems and prophecies on this continent. Which one are you talking about?"
"That's it, not so" said Xika undo his intention.
He was actually about to find out the meaning of the poem as well as the prophecy that he talked to Huo Bing when he was still on the Shaking Card. But he doubted Heiliao would tell him the meaning of the poem any further. That is if he knows.
Finally Xika turned around with a feeling of annoyance as well as curiosity. He came out of the quiet alley where he had spoken before.
Suddenly he saw something that ignited his anger. Both of his hands were covered in flames while the Space Shifter was already a stick and held by his right hand, ready to attack. His feet were covered in wind elements preparing to shoot.
"Xika's? What was? Relax!"
Both Huo Bing and Heiliao both did not understand why Xika was acting like that all of a sudden. Then they followed Xika's gaze and realized why she was acting this way.
Across the quiet alley where they were talking, a man was walking in the crowd. The man was indeed not wearing anything flashy or doing anything attention-grabbing but Xika's eyes immediately locked onto the man. Because it was the same man who led the attack towards his uncle's clan.
Right, the man Xika saw was Hei Bao, the leader of the group that attacked his clan.
Xika did not wait for Huo Bing or Heiliao to discuss the plan first. He immediately shot towards Hei Bao.
But not one meter he moved, his shoulders became heavy until he had to stop, He clicked his tongue irritated as he turned towards the direction the weight was coming from.
Right shoulder, Heiliao.
"What are you doing?"
"I should have asked that. What are you doing?"
"Are you stupid? You already know my story from Huo Bing means you already know who that person is" Xika said as she pointed at Hei Bao.
Heiliao jumped towards Xika's hand and made him lower his hand. Then back to his shoulders.
"Don't point. Don't let that guy know you're here.
I know who that guy is and that's why I stopped you."
"What?"
"You're out of your mind? Don't you know what his cultivation level is? Don't you see his men around him? Do you think you can beat them all by yourself? What if they have other help? It is true that you have four dantians and you are stronger than a normal Qi Gathering 9 cultivator. But as many Qi Gathering cultivators as there were still could not defeat a Qi 8 Forming cultivator."
Xika fell silent. Heiliao's words were like a bucket of cold water splashed on his head. He just realized the situation. But the anger has not yet subsided.
"Then what should I do? I can't just let them go."
"indeed not. But for sure you can't just attack them."
On the left shoulder, Huo Bing spoke up.
"Xika, I hate to admit it but I agree with her. You can't attack them. Even the weakest of them can beat you."
"not necessarily. They can make the mistake of looking down on me. There are you guys anyway."
"It's still us you're right" Huo Bing said as he nodded. " But even if we manage to defeat them, we will only attract greater attention. And it's not necessary. They could have allies here."
Xika rolled her eyes irritated. But what the two creatures on his shoulder said was indeed true.
"Why did you two suddenly become such a bitch?"
".........."
".........."
"Then you asked me to just leave them?"
"Of course not. We're not gonna let them go."
On the right shoulder, Heiliao nodded in agreement to Huo Bing's words. This is something that wolves rarely do.
"We will follow them" said the wolf.
