The Demon Hunter

The Demon Hunter
Chapter 14: Fallen

Noticing Riki was hard to imagine what had happened, in a glance as the little boy jumped up to slap the man. The man then exploded.

"Yes interesting.you killed your own comrade," the one who could casually say a cruel thing happened in his eyes as something interesting was Mai.

The little boy caught Mai's words.

"If I could I'd have wanted to kill him long ago, but unfortunately."

The exploding head returned to its original state in a few seconds.

"Oi. That's a sick fool."

"Well, now I'm satisfied."

"You're satisfied!"

The man twirled his head that was back. He brandished a sword made of wood to Mai and Riki.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, in return I'll kill you quickly. Help me Lili."

"Relatedly.."

"Huh?"

The man froze in place.

"What do you mean?"

"Riel says we should just direct all the demons to kill the humans, after which we are told to go back, even in his words he did not order to attack the members of the Occult Attack Prevention Agency."

"What's that?"

"Let me alone attack," cutting off the chatter, Mai jumped up while swinging her sword from above, naturally the man had noticed it and held it down with his sword, beyond a doubt the wooden sword could withstand the sharpness of its katana.

"Hoh, so you're a demon that already has the perfect shape to resemble a human?"

Mai asked the question, the man named Kros simply replied.

"Either the memory of us being demons will just disappear."

He kicked Mai in the stomach until she swooped down to hit the car.

Seeing a crack Riki shot his gun but the man caught it easily.

"Uwahhh.. hot, hot."

"You can catch him."

"It's not that hard for me," she replied quickly before the girl named Lili cut in.

"We've been stalling means our task is done now, let's go Kros."

"Well, how else."

"Areally who are you?" ask Riki.

"We call ourselves Fallen, we are demons who already have a human body and soon we will rule your world," the man who answered the question and turned to follow the little boy, then the figure of both disappeared before Riki's eyes.

Mai got up and sheathed her katana back before approaching the silent Riki.

"See That"

Riki immediately followed Mai's gaze.

It didn't take long until Riki's thought was answered far away where the light to the orange glowed brightly and finally exploded violently, moving the contents of the earth to the surface.

"We're late, they've destroyed 1/4 of the city" Albert's words broke the silence.

"We failed" added Nina.

Before leaving a voice stopped Riki. He turned around and found Mai stopping him.

"Are you going back to base?"

"The plan is so," said Riki.

"Actually I've run out of steam to teleport, can I come with you."

It is only fitting that Mai is easily kicked by the man, Riki muttered.

"I get it, come on."

"It's forced, forced."

"As much as you are" Riki said so while exhaling a long sigh towards Mai who was being timid, letting Mai climb into the backseat of the two leave the place.

An indescribable aura was enveloping the main room, it was not a pleasant aura, arguably just a deep gloom.

Except for Mai who was engrossed in reading the book "Challenged couple" everyone fell silent in regret.

"We can't do anything, if only we have enough members to monitor the situation" Albert said, stopping after he understood the situation.

"I'm also unreliable in combat, sorry." Nina added.

"Nina's been a lot of help in the back line if we lose you it'll make things worse for us" Riki said, calming until Albert cut in.

"Nina, can you feel the other spiritual powers from here?"

"I don't think it's in town, but I got two people who seem to have it after hacking into cameras in another town."

"So, how about you go with Mai alone to invite them, with the power of teleportation it will take a short time."

Nina shakes her head at Albert's suggestion.

"Mai can only go where he's been, if it's the whole city he can, but if it's outside he can't."

"Then what if you just go with me, I will persuade them to join.well it is still not certain they want to join or not," Riki cut.

"There's no way around it anymore, we're just depending on you. If it was someone else who did not have spiritual energy they would not immediately believe it. If Nina were to say she had spiritual power they would only take it as a joke" Albert said with a serious face he had never shown.

At that time Riki chose to believe because he met with Mai, otherwise, he would also think so.

"It has been decided that Nina and I will leave, so that the city will be handed over to Mai and Albert alone."

"I'll make Mai work hard."

"I also need a vacation" Mai said without anyone answering.
