CHAPTRE. 10 - BLACK SHADOW

”Yixuan!”

In a white room, Shin Yixuan stood up and opened her eyes. He is currently in his own subconscious and is dealing with a black shadow shaped like a young man in his 20s.

”What is this place? And whose brother is this?” asked Shin Yixuan who looked puzzled because earlier, she had heard Luo Hein's voice calling her name.

The shadow clearly said nothing. He just stayed in place as if he was staring at her. However, Shin Yixuan still felt the hateful energy residing within this shadow.

Shortly after, the shadow cast a purple-colored crystal from within his body. He then gave it to Shin Yixuan who was still looking at him in a daze.

Shin Yixuan looked at the crystal that had been in her palm. The crystal was so shining and it was like the sky drowning in the light of night. It looks like an ordinary crystal, but inside it is a power that can make anyone live longer than most humans. One only needs to eat it and he will get the power that makes him never die.

However, for now Shin Yixuan still did not know about it and she was also unaware that this crystal was a heart fragment belonging to Luo Hein. The demon lord would die if his heart slowly did not shine and turned into tiny fragments. And before his heart was completely destroyed, they would appoint a human to replace him.

”Kakak asked me to look after him?” asked Shin Yixuan who was watching him.

The shadow then nodded and pointed towards a dark room that was there. Inside the dark room was a boy of his age. The child's body was tied up using a god rope so that it could not move anywhere.

”He looks a lot like me. But, why is he tied up like that?” asked the astonished-looking Shin Yixuan and then stepped up to approach her.

However, the male shadow instantly stopped Shin Yixuan by standing before her. The shadow shook its head as if it was warning him not to walk near it.

”Why can't I approach him? The boy looks very difficult and he also looks very sad.” Shin Yixuan said while looking at him. However, the shadow still shook its head and pushed Shin Yixuan backwards.

After pushing him away and making him move away, the shadow pointed again towards a gloomy-faced young man. The young man stood there carrying a sword that had been covered in blood. In addition, around him there are dead human corpses with a terrible and different ending.

”Sister tried to remind me not to approach him and this is what would happen if I kept walking closer to him and unbinded him?” ask Shin Yixuan.

The shadow then nodded.

”But, am I going to be the bad guy and kill all the innocent people like Dad did?” ask Shin Yixuan. ”... If not now, I might have untied the boy and turned evil when I was under pressure. Anyway, I can feel angry, sad and happy. Who's gonna get in my way if I get nasty later?”

The shadow immediately shook its head and pointed towards the crystal that was in Shin Yixuan's palm. He seemed to say that the crystal would protect him and prevent him from unbinding from his darkest side. As long as he did not destroy it, his anger could be controlled by him.

Shin Yixuan fell silent and watched him. Shortly after, he looked back at the shadow in front of him and said, ”... Thank you for protecting me, Dad!”

When Shin Yixuan woke up from her sleep and realized that she was on top of her dummy when before, she fell asleep outside wanting to wait for Luo Hein to come home.

”Dreams? But, why does it feel so real?” inner Shin Yixuan thought about it. He then touched her neck and felt that a rope was encircling her. He tried to pick it up and saw a bright purple crystal as shown in his dream.

”Very good. Does this belong to Dad?” muttered Shin Yixuan who noticed him.

”Yixuan! Are you awake?” exclaimed Shin Buyen who had just entered his room with a bowl of meat soup for him.

Shin Yixuan directly stared at Shin Buyen who had been nearby. His gaze then looked at the door that was still open and gazed back towards Shin Buyen. ”Where's Dad? Is Dad back?” ask Shin Yixuan.

”He just left. I tried to wake you repeatedly but, you didn't wake up.” replied Shin Buyen.

Shin Yixuan then showed him a crystal that was on his neck and asked ”Did Father give it to him? I dreamt there was a black shadow giving me this. In addition, he also showed me that I would be a criminal if I took off the rope that tied my darkest side.”

Shin Buyen was shocked after hearing that. His palm then patted Shin Yixuan's narrow shoulder and said, ”Indeed your father gave you the crystal. But, the dream you just told me, I think you should stay away from her and never untie her.”

”But, what if I do? When all the people I want to protect are in danger while I myself am also in the same position, I will definitely do any way to protect him.” Shin Yixuan said.

Shin Buyen was shocked and he remained silent for a while. Shortly after, he smiled again and said, ”I'm sure you can control it. I trust.”

On the other hand, the two were unaware that there was a group of black-robed youths watching them from behind the distance. They were all staring in one direction with their black eyeballs that looked like crows.

”That's him. The descendants of the seventh Demon King that should be killed. He must be more ruthless than his father!” said the young man who was older than the other five.

”I heard that everyone in Xu Empire was killed by his father. Someday, he will surely follow his example and commit a massacre greater than this one.”

”What will we do to him?”

”Of course. We will kill him and restore the peace of the world.”
