Chapter 22: Finding the Tunnel and Avoiding the Enemy
When we reached the tunnel below, I realized that expelling the psionic shock to knock the unconscious guards had messed with my memory, and I no longer knew the layout of the tunnel. But I could feel the Zeto Crystal, and it gave me a general sense of the direction of our goal. We move as fast and quietly as possible, until the uncomfortable feeling overwhelms my senses. The feeling that we are not alone. I felt four men in front of us, and, as we got closer, I could hear them.
I recognize the voices of Martin Al-Sham and Ben Judah, though I cannot understand what they are saying. I was upset at myself for not learning the local language before I started my mission. I was sure , that my increased intelligence , would allow me to learn any language in less than a month, yet I was too careless to learn Hebrew before starting my mission.
I looked at Simona and whispered. "What did they say?"
He replied, “I'm not sure. They seem to be talking in riddles. One of them spoke in bad Hebrew, ” he replied.
"But why do they speak Hebrew if they are not good at it?" I asked.
"Maybe they know that you're listening, and they don't want you to know what they're talking about." Simona answered.
The words Simona shocked me to the very core of my being. Maybe he was right, and I was the one played by my opponent. I didn't have much time to reflect on this choice, because I could hear the men approaching our position. We sneak into a small side tunnel, which is a dead end but is hidden from the main tunnel. I really hope that they won't find us there, or we're done. On the bright side, why did they come looking for us there?
I saw Ben Yehuda, Martin Al-Sham, and two other Templar knights walking straight past us, passing through the main tunnel. I let out a sigh of relief, and when the beach was clear, I brought Simona towards where I could feel that the Zeto Crystal was located. Finally, we walked into a small room, illuminated with a glowing sign on the wall, filled with strange foreign symbols.
Chapter 23: Unlocking the Door and Finding the Primordial Zeto Crystal
When we entered the dark and mystical room, the foreign symbols suddenly lit up in a blurry, dim, and soothing bluish neon color. I recognized the symbols from the tattoo on the arm of Martin Al-Sham, but I could not see the pattern. Staring with the pattern caused me migraines, as there were too many space symbols, and too many possible combinations for my head to count . The harder I tried to figure it out, the worse my migraines were. After a minute of pushing my brain to decipher the illuminating encryption, I lay on the floor in terrible pain, suppressing my screams to avoid the attention of Ben Yehuda and the Templars.
Simona knelt beside me as I lay on the floor and spoke. "What's up, Sabina?" I coughed up blood, and Simona looked at me in horror and spoke. “ Sabina! You are bleeding from your mouth, nose, ears, and eyes! What the hell is going on?"
"I can't decipher encryption, and my brain thinks too much." I said in a weak voice . I felt like I was close to fainting.
Hearing this brought me back to my senses, and I felt a little rejuvenated. Thinking hard is not the solution to a mystery. Good karmic feelings and intuition. The riddle was meant to be deciphered by my future mother, Keila Eisenstein, and not by me. While I am the kind of thinking, perhaps the most intelligent human being who ever lived, Keila Eisenstein, my real mother from the future, has something that may be more important to decode, telepathy, and so on, and premonition. While I also had this supernatural talent, thinking too much and not following my intuition, had dulled my other senses, and stopped me from deciphering the foreign code.
I got up, wiped the blood off my face with my warm shirt, and spoke. “Thank you, Simona . Show way. ”
I closed my eyes, zone d out of this world, and g o t dream-like visions of the True Maker. In that vision, I saw Keila Eisenstein decipher the code and open the door. Blessed with a photographic memory, I replicated all the steps I had seen Keila take in my vision . When I finished, the entire wall lit up, and a huge stone moved to open the secret passage.
"Follow me" I whispered, and we ran towards the newly opened room. Inside the room, sitting on a medieval pedestal from the Arturiano era, I could see the ancient Crystal Zeto, slightly glowing, with a soothing gentle light. I ran towards him, but before I could touch him, I heard the voice of a cruel man, the voice of Ben Judah. "Not too soon, or your friend will die!" Ben said in a threatening tone . When I turned around, I saw Ben Judah accompanied by the Templars, and Martin Al-Sham, pointing their pistols at Simona.
