Chapter 10 The Battle of Life and Death
General Hammer is not a descendant of the original Federation, he is a nomad from the middle eastern state. With the skillful scimitar sword ability he managed to become a General after winning several wars in the Federation. “Hammer” is a pseudonym he created in order to blend in with westerners, the name taken from one of his habits of carrying a hammer on both his back.
With a posture that is not too large but higher than the western people, General Hammer is often the subject of the soldiers talk about his strange habits, his soldiers often talked about the function of the hammer on his back. They had no idea that the hammer held the greatest secret that General Hammer had.
On a quiet night, illuminated by moonlight illuminates the path. General Hammer's forces set off for the southern coast of United States City. General Hammer only brought a small part of his army. Secretly Lieutenant General Wein and General Leo followed the troops.
At midnight, General Hammer reached the shore and saw no sign of ships from the Empire. General Hammer smiled then got off his horse, he told his troops to make camp in the forest area near the beach. While he was walking to a cliff near the beach, he sat down and looked at the beach.
General Hammer is waiting for someone to arrive, he knows this is a trap. After some time, Prince Louis finally appeared along with General Fredrick who prepared to attack General Hammer. “General Hammer, I am Prince Louis of the Empire. Surrender, I will give you salvation,” Prince Louis said in a cold voice.
The gentle breeze of the night calmed the atmosphere, but it changed immediately when General Hammer turned around and threw a scimitar sword at Prince Louis. Prince Louis avoided the sword, though some of his hair was cut off by it. “Prince Louis?” ask General Hammer. I brought my 200 troops to this area, have you killed them all?” ask General Hammer in a flat tone.
Prince Louis looked at General Hammer in seriousness. "Yes. Now, you stand alone. Are you angry that I have destroyed them?" his voice was full of determination.
Hearing that question, a sinister smile flashed across General Hammer's vexed face. "Anged?" ask General Hammer. "Hahaha, thank you, Prince. To be honest, I hate them with all my heart" he replied with a sincere smile.
Intrigued, General Fredrick grabbed the scimitar sword that General Hammer had thrown and observed its distinctive arch at the end. "So unique sword. Careful, Prince. He comes from Middle Eastern soil, we don't know his fighting style" General Fredrick said with anxiety radiating from his eyes.
“Thank you for the attention,” Prince Louis said as he picked up the scimitar sword and then threw the sword into the air, it fell on the ground. “I respect me for not taking the side of the Empire even though it has been cornered so far, you are not a person from this continent why do you care so much about the Federation?” prince Louis asked with a serious face.
General Hammer was silent for a moment, he picked up the scimitar sword lying on the ground. “Do I look so concerned with the Federation?” muttered General Hammer while looking at the blade of his sword. “I came to find out about the truth of a prophecy. The recent events are similar to what prophesy” said General Hammer with a happy expression.
“Ramalan?” prince Louis asked. “Looks like I won't kill you before you give that prophecy” Prince Louis said anxiously.
“Mati?” muttered General Hammer while getting ready with his horses. “If the prophecy is true, I won't die here. But I don't know with you” General Hammer smiled wickedly.
Meanwhile, General Fredrick took some distance to avoid the impact of General Hammer's devastating attack that cracked the ground and created chaos around him. Prince Louis's face looked anxious, as it was his first experience in a life-and-death fight, faced with such a formidable and mysterious opponent. "I'm not even able to predict the movement of the attack," Prince Louis murmured inwardly.
General Fredrick throws one more sword at Prince Louis. Prince Louis began to seriously fight General Hammer with his deadly two-sword style. General Hammer prepared to return to attack, while Prince Louis received the sword and advanced forward with a bold move.
A lightning battle that could not be seen by the eyes was going on, the movements of the two swords of Prince Louis were so elegant yet all of his attacks could be avoided and fended off by General Hammer using his scimitar sword. “Is this just the ability of an Imperial Crown Prince?” general Hammer said in a mocking tone, while continuing to deflect.
Prince Louis was overwhelmed, and none of his attacks hit General Hammer. Meanwhile, General Hammer breathed a sigh of relief, as the attack from Prince Louis was over. General Hammer smiled then picked up one of the hammers on his back, “After the sun will rise, and I must return. I will end our game, Prince Louis”, said General Hammer, hitting his great hammer to the ground, making a huge crack in the ground so that dust blocked Prince Louis' view.
Prince Louis looked around with a burning tension, watchful eyes watching the plume of dust blocking his view.
Suddenly, General Hammer emerged from the dust, his hands slid forward trying to attack Prince Louis. However, the general's hammer attack was much slower than his scimitar sword's movement. With stunning agility, Prince Louis managed to dodge his attack. However, the Prince realized his mistake when General Hammer did not aim for his vital point. Apparently, he was aiming for both of his swords. Prince Louis tried hard to resist the brutal attacks of the two hammers, one of the Prince's swords finally broke, and in an instant, the hammer blow struck the Prince's body violently.
Prince Louis was severely injured, several of his bones were broken, and his body was stranded on a broken tree. General Hammer believes his attack has destroyed his opponent. Quickly, the General was about to escape, but unexpectedly, the Prince's sword nimbly slid and stabbed the General's stomach deathly.
Standing amidst the rubble of the fight, Prince Louis looked at General Hammer with a gaze full of fire and courage. The General's face was beaming, admitting that this fight was the heaviest he had ever experienced. Prince Louis's clothes were torn by a fierce struggle, but the Prince remained steadfast. Meanwhile, General Hammer is stranded from the cliffs towards the fierce waves and dangerous rocks.
Beside him, General Fredrick approached Prince Louis, giving praise for his stunning action. "That's great, Prince! Your sword moves are amazing, and-"
However, Prince Louis cut out General Fredrick's words firmly. "He's not dead yet. I lost far to him. He has not even shown all his strength, whereas I am forced to expend all my abilities" said the Prince with a serious look, looking at the distant sea direction.
"In the next few years, I believe countries in the Middle East will invade the Western Continent" he continued, expressing fears of a threat lurking in the future.
