Kiyomizu Temple is a main hall made of wood built on a hill. The height of the stage that crossed the main hall was about 13 meters, and it is strongly supported by traditional Japanese construction methods by combining 18 logs from over 400-year-old Keyaki trees and 12-meter-long wood with no nails at all.
Kiyomizu Temple is located on the hillside of Mount Otowa and the view looks very amazing. The first thing that will be seen upon entering Kiyomizu Temple is the gate called Nio-mon. On both sides is a statue of Nio. This gate is also known as the Eye Gate.
Behind Nio-mon , there was a western gate and a three-story pagoda. All of them are well built and decorated.
