Chapter 13 The Darkness of Genocide and the Glad News
August 1550, in the spring when the leaves fell, and a gentle breeze blew, the dried leaves flew like a dazzling natural dance. Nature displays its beauty in soothing harmony, presenting a poetic picture of ever-amazing change and birth.
After a few weeks the Federation entered into a ceasefire agreement with the Empire. The Dartensian Kingdom that became the Capital of the Federation lost their leader, many shops were closed for fear of interference from the military, precisely the pro-war faction that asked for tribute for the cost of the war.
King Welburg along with his wife have been mysteriously murdered in his room, at least that's what was officially given. Some of the Federation Generals knew that the one who killed King Welburg and his wife was a pro-war faction. The youngest daughter of the Darte family (the Dartensia royal family) is reported to have disappeared just as the murder was made public.
Princess Yuliana is the younger sister of Princess Mitia, she has just turned 18 but has faced such a gripping tragedy.
“Peace...” said Princess Yuliana while looking at the window. “This kingdom is my birthplace, why would anyone want to snatch it from me?” princess Yuliana's.
“That's all because of the greedy nature of humans, I've gotten information that some of our generals have gone secretly without permission. I don't know where they're going, but it's a great opportunity to take the kingdom of Dartensia” said Princess Yuliana's trusted aide standing next to her.
“You are absolutely right, thank you for saving me back then” Princess Yuliana said.
“It has been my duty to ensure the safety of the Crown Princess, the direct decree of the King of Welburg to the servant of” said the aide humbled himself.
“All those involved with the pro-war faction must die in this kingdom, there is no place for them in this kingdom” Princess Yuliana said vexedly.
For several weeks Princess Yuliana and her aides met with some of her connections to come up with a genocidal plan. All those who supported the pro-war faction disappeared from the Dartensian kingdom slowly. The economy started moving back, and by the end of September, everything was done.
Princess Yuliana and her entourage poison anyone who is pro-war, sometimes they also commit murder at night. This event is recorded in history, often referred to as “the darkness of genocide.”
Princess Yuliana announced her ascension to the throne after the kingdom of Dartensia was cleared of pro-war factions. She then made a declaration that greatly shook the entire people of the Federation, the contents of the declaration read “I as the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Dartensia, declaring that I am the new Queen of the Federation”
By bloodline, Princess Yuliana is the rightful heir of the Federation. However, the current Federation was split into two large factions. Such a declaration would cause political friction between pro-war and pro-Empire generals.
In the magnificent and busy Imperial capital, Prince Louis is sitting at his desk with General Fredrick, one of the best warlords in his country. They were discussing strategies and plans to confront the Federation, their arch-enemy who was about to start a war again soon after the truce ended. However, their serious conversation was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a slow knock on the door.

“Log in!” prince Louis said in a high tone.
A well-dressed young soldier entered the room with a candle-sealed envelope. He saluted Prince Louis and General Fredrick, then said in a loud voice.
“Prince Louis, this is a letter sent by the Federation Emperor to you” the soldier said as he handed the envelope.
“I'm sorry, General. I have to see Princess Mitia right now!” prince Louis shouted from behind the door.
Prince Louis ran as fast as lightning towards the room of Princess Mitia, his beautiful and gentle wife. He loved her very much and wanted to tell her the good news. However, when he reached the doorstep of Princess Mitia's room, he did not see her figure there. With a breath of breath, he asked a soldier standing guard by the door.
“Where is Princess Mitia?” asked Prince Louis in a worried tone.
“Princess Mitia is in the park, Your Majesty. He was enjoying tea in the afternoon” replied the soldier politely.
Prince Louis did not want to waste any more time, he immediately ran again towards the beautiful garden and full of flowers. He looked at Princess Mitia who was sitting on a ceramic bench while holding a teacup in her hand. A few bodyguards were beside her, her long blonde hair was beautifully unraveling on her shoulders, her blue eyes shining brightly in the sunlight. She looked so graceful and charming, leaving Prince Louis stunned.
The bench is in the center of the park, and there is a roof that shaded the chair, the roof is made of concrete that is very beautifully carved.
“Honey! I have great news!” prince Louis shouted as he waved his hand.
Princess Mitia was surprised to hear the voice of Prince Louis who was so carefree and excited. He turned his head towards her and saw her running towards him with a beaming face. She was happy to see her husband so happy, but she was also embarrassed that he called her affectionately in front of so many people. His face turned red and he shouted back.
“Don't call me that outside!”
Prince Louis ran excitedly then hugged his beautiful wife. Princess Mitia was surprised, but she could not resist that warm embrace. She felt love and happiness from her husband. Prince Louis also raised Princess Mitia so happy, he twirled it in the air while laughing freely.
People around them are fascinated to see such a friendly and romantic royal couple. After the embarrassing incident, Prince Louis finally spoke to Princess Mitia in the garden, the two of them sat face to face, right in front of them was a table full of sweet snacks and high-quality tea.
“What's up, Prince? Why are you so happy?” princess Mitia asked curiously.
“I just received a letter from the new Queen of the Federation. Please read it” Prince Louis handed the Federation letter.
“Queen? What do you mean?” princess Mitia asked confusedly. He took the letter and opened it carefully. He began to read the contents of the letter carefully, his eyes widening as he learned who sent the letter. She didn't believe what she was reading, she felt like a dream. After reading the letter to the end, Princess Mitia cried tears of joy, she approached Prince Louis and cried in her arms. The crying was tears of joy.
“Hiks hiks, my sister Princess Yuliana is alive. She is my beloved sister” said Princess Mitia while crying bitterly.
The letter from the Federation conveys numerous messages to the Empire, but in outline in the letter. Queen Yuliana as the new Queen of the Federation declares to submit to the Empire, and all parties of the Federation must comply with it or it will be considered as treason against the Federation.
The Federation marshal supported this statement, in the end he gave up on continuing to defend the Federation's sovereignty, he chose to support the pro-imperial faction due to his closer family ties to the Dartensian royal family. Queen Yuliana also stated that she wanted to meet her brother, Princess Mitia, who had not seen her since the war broke out between the two countries. She hopes to reconcile with her brother and restore their broken family relationship.
