Chapter 14 The Federation of Surrender and the Birth of the Kingdom of Hansburg

After fighting for several months, the Federation finally admitted their defeat before the more powerful Empire. On November 12, 1550, the Federation formally admitted its defeat. The capital of the Federation, the Kingdom of Dartensia, fully ceded their government and sovereignty to the Empire. Shortly after, the territory of the Federation was split into two parts, namely the northern Federation and the southern Federation. The northern federation was led by a pro-war faction, reportedly in cooperation with the Liberk Republic.

That same month, the Empire decided to convert the existing system of government in the southern Federation country into the Empire system, meaning they should become an empire under the auspices of the Empire. Princess Mitia, who was the youngest daughter of King Dartensia, was appointed Queen of the new kingdom. The Kingdom of Hansburg was the name given by the Empire to the southern Federation.

Celebrations were prepared to welcome the birth of the Kingdom of Hansburg and the appointment of Princess Mitia as Queen. However, not all Federation citizens liked this change. For those who did not like the culture and rules of the Empire, they chose to go to the northern Federation or to another land. Although the population and territory of the Kingdom of Hansburg were in a critical period, under the leadership of the Empire, the Kingdom of Hansburg hoped to rise to become one of the most influential empires in world history.

A few days before the celebration of peace between the Federation and the Empire was done, Princess Yuliana of the Federation and Princess Mitia of the Empire met in the kingdom of Dartensia. They are brothers separated since the Federation and Empire war which lasted for approximately 6 months. They met and enjoyed tea together in the afternoon in the beautiful palace garden. They both laughed together and told each other about their lives.

“Ayunda, how are you? Is your marriage to Prince Louis of the Empire going well? I heard Prince Louis is a creepy and cruel” said Princess Yuliana in an anxious and worried tone.

“I also thought like that when I first heard that Prince Louis was betrothed to me by father and Emperor Albert” Princess Mitia replied quickly. “But, he is a kind, loving, and loyal man. I am grateful to be able to marry her and become the empress of Empire”, Princess Mitia said shyly.

“What about you, my sister? I'm so grateful that you survived the pro-war faction that tried to kill you. What caused you to want to join the Empire when you were the daughter of the Federation?” princess Mitia asked curiously.

“There is no special reason, only that those who committed murder against our parents are parties of the Federation itself, they are traitors who want to rule the throne. I believed in the Empire because my father and father believed and were convinced of them. I also want to protect the people of the Federation from the atrocities of the pro-war faction that” Princess Yuliana said with a smile.

Princess Mitia then sat down next to her sister then hugged her tightly, “no need to hold my sister, I know you are very sad. Forgive your ayunda for letting you get involved in this kind of politics. I couldn't protect you back then” Princess Mitia whispered with haru.

Princess Yuliana could not hold back her tears, her face reddened, her eyes shed tears, “hiks hiks, ayunda I miss you so much... I'm so scared” said Princess Yuliana while crying sobbing.

“You are a strong girl, my sister, I am so proud of you. Take it easy, it's all over, my mother will always be by your side. We will not be separated again” said Princess Mitia who also let out tears.

Amidst the heated talks, Lieutenant General Wein came up with a swift pace. He paid his respects to Princess Mitia and Princess Yuliana who were sitting on the park bench. "Good afternoon, sorry to interrupt your time" said Lieutenant General Wein in a low voice while covering his face with his army cap.

Prince Louis standing beside him held onto both of Lieutenant General Wein's shoulders, and left him shocked. "Why did you cover it from your sisters? Let's show them" Prince Louis said with a cheerful smile.

Princess Mitia and Princess Yuliana looked puzzled by what Prince Louis had said. They did not recognize the figure standing in front of them. But when Prince Louis removed the army hat from Lieutenant General Wein, they realized that it was Wein, Princess Mitia's sister and Princess Yuliana's sister who had been in exile for approximately 10 years.

"Sister!" said Princess Yuliana who immediately hugged the left hand of Lieutenant General Wein tightly.

The two of them had not seen Wein, the crown prince for a long time. But when he was 10 years old he decided to exile himself, and abdicate the throne of the kingdom. No one knows the exact reason why he did it except himself, but for sure, he said, Wein had proven to the world that he could remain a respected person even after giving up his entire noble status.

For 10 years, Wein did a lot of things. He joined the military forces, and is currently the youngest Lieutenant General ever. He was also involved in many important and dangerous missions, and managed to bring home many victories and honors for his country.

"I'm so happy" Princess Yuliana smiled as she looked at her brother's handsome face.

Lieutenant General Wein returned a hug from his sisters, he smiled gently. "I am also very happy" said Letjen Wein happily while rubbing the hair of his sister, Princess Yuliana.

Lieutenant General Wein and Prince Louis sat together in the garden, as did Princess Mitia and Princess Yuliana. The four of them looked very happy with each other. They tell stories of many things, from life in the palace, on the battlefield, to their future plans.

"Congratulations to the Kingdom of Hansburg, ayunda, I don't mean, Queen" said Lieutenant General Wein, who insults his ayunda by calling her Queen, imitating a proud and arrogant voice.

"Congratulations Ayunda, I don't mean, Queen" said Princess Yuliana, who also pranks Princess Mitia while patting her shoulder.

"Ahh, even Yuliana's sister is also following me?" said Princess Mitia while smiling while pretending to be angry and puffing her cheeks.

"Both of you!" prince Louis said firmly. "It is impolite to behave like that to the Queen" said Prince Louis, who joked as he stood and bowed respectfully to Princess Mitia.

The three of them became laughing when they saw Prince Louis who was joking. They could not help but laugh when they saw Prince Louis' cute and adorable expression. The four of them looked very happy, in the distance, Emperor Albert and his wife were also very happy to see their family so familiar and laugh freely with each other. They smiled happily when they heard the sound of laughter of their four carefree and cheerful children.

A few days later, the moment awaited by all the people of the Kingdom of Hansburg. The day that Princess Mitia will be appointed Queen of the Kingdom of Hansburg. In the magnificent and beautiful throne room, many important nobles from the Roman Empire and the European Federation were present to witness the historic coronation ceremony.

Prince Louis stood beside Princess Mitia who was wearing a graceful and elegant white dress. He held the crown of the Queen glittering with jewels and gold. He lifted the crown above Princess Mitia's head, and in a loud and clear voice, she said, "With this, Princess Mitia will become the Queen of the Hansburg Kingdom, she said, pay homage to Queen Mitia Von Hansburg!" prince Louis said firmly.

The Military and the entire nobility immediately saluted, they cheered and applauded to congratulate their new Queen. Queen Mitia then sat on a tall and majestic throne seat, she smiled sweetly and gracefully. He looked towards Prince Louis who was smiling back at him lovingly and proudly. He also looked towards his family who were standing behind him, they were also smiling happily and haru. Queen Mitia felt very lucky and grateful for everything that had happened in her life.

The birth of the Hansburg kingdom would be the beginning history of the Roman Empire's glory and also the beginning of its destruction for the world!
