TUMBLED

TUMBLED
That Woman

"Yet. Mother."

Agus ran into the house screaming for his wife. While the wife who was busy washing dishes at the back of the house, was in a hurry to approach her husband.

"What's the matter, sir, screaming?" tanya Aminah, Agus' wife.

"Father finally got a job, Buk. So the pelvic porters remain in the shop of his building Mr. Yanto."

"Alhamdulillah." Aminah hugged her husband tightly. "After a long time Mr. Nganggur finally you get work again."

"Yes, Mom. Alhamdulillahot. If you have enough income later, you no longer need to work as a washerman, Mom."

Aminah wept, overwhelmed by the great sustenance they suddenly had. In the past, Agus had worked for several years as a parking lot with an erratic income. But suddenly he had to lose his job because the parking lot was taken by the next village thugs.

Agus has tried dozens of times to find another job, but he did not succeed. Agus felt unbearable if he continued to see his wife who was exhausted, because he had to work in several neighboring houses as a washerman so that the kitchen continued to boil, and Andi their child could remain in school.

Agus even several times been offered a job as a courier in charge of delivering drugs. Although he was promised a big payment, but he refused it. Agus did not want to give a haram living for his son and wife.

"Assalamualaik."

Andi, who was wearing a red white uniform, looked tired after school. Aminah immediately wiped her tears and kissed Andi's cheek.

"Mom. Andi laper's. What are you cooking?"

Aminah and Agus looked at each other. It was heartless to tell his son that again they only ate with eggs.

"Today I'm cooking an omelet, son."

There was disappointment in Andi's face, who was just in second grade at SD. "Well, another egg."

"And must be grateful we can still eat" said Agus while stroking his son's head. "Tomorrow, I've started work. You don't have to eat rice with salt or even the same eggs anymore."

"Horry." Andi was soaring with excitement. The tiredness he brought home from school seemed to have disappeared. "Let's eat fried chicken, sir."

"Yes. We will buy fried chicken. But for today Andi eat the same omelet first, yes. It's okay, right?" pinta Agus with a smile.

"Yes, sir."

"Yes, already. Now Mr and Andi change clothes and wash their hands. Let me prepare the rice and the dishes."

Aminah rushed to the kitchen to prepare three plastic dishes and stirred the half-kilo rice that was in the basket. One omelet is as thin as a paper directly he divided three to be enough for their side dishes.

While moving the rice onto the plate, Aminah prayed. Hopefully Agus' new job tomorrow will bring even better sustenance to them.

Aminah trembled, looking at a red sheet of money given by Agus to her.

"This is your salary today? That's a lot, sir."

"Yes, Mom. You see, said Mr. Yanto happened to be a lot of work today," replied Agus while sitting on a mat.

"Alhamdulillah. Mother permission to use this money to pay the debt at the Bu Ijah stall yes, sir. Not good, our debts have accumulated."

"Yes, Mom."

"Sir, where's the fried chicken?" Andi who heard his father had gone home, immediately approached with a cheerful face.

"Later on, son. My money is used to pay off debt first. Later, if our debt has been paid off, I will cook a good fried chicken," persuaded Aminah gently.

"Yes a lot, Mom."

"Yes, Andi can eat as much."

"Asiiikkkkk." Andi was back in excitement. He pranced every time his heart was happy.

In the days that followed, Agus began to often give money to Aminah hundreds of thousands, making their family's economy gradually improved. Even not infrequently, Agus came home to bring various kinds of food given by his boss.

"Pak Yanto is very good, sir. Often love us good food," said Aminah while biting sweet martabak with a sprinkling of chocolate beans.

"Yes, Mom. The first time Mr. Yanto gave Father food, Mr. Yanto had a story. In the past, before his business was successful and big like now, Pak Yanto had several times bankrupt. Mr. Yanto and his family have also lived in a rickety rented and eaten salt-soaked rice like us. Therefore, when he was rich, Mr. Yanto often shared food because he also had a difficult life," explained Agus at length.

"Then say thank you from Mother for Mr. Yanto yes, sir."

Aminah wiped Andi's face with peanut butter. "Duh, Son. If you do not talk again, do not talk. Eat the right thing."

Secretly, Agus looked at his wife and child who were eating. Thank God they can eat well now. No more stomach-stomach noises and hunger.

Agus is very grateful to be able to meet people as good as Mr. Yanto. Because thanks to his help and kindness, now the Agus family can feel a much better life.

"Good," called Mr. Yanto when Agus was about to walk home after work.

"Yes, sir," said Agus while slightly bowing.

"Here, I happen to have more chicken fried one." Mr. Yanto showed me two pieces of fried chicken in a lunchbox. "Would you choose a thigh or a chest?"

Agus was silent for a moment while gulping. The fried chicken looked very tempting. Seeing the delicious food Agus immediately remembered his son who really wanted to eat fried chicken.

"Only, sir."

Pak Yanto smiled at Agus' reply. Take a piece of fried chicken breast and put it in a clear white bag.

"Here take it." Mr. Yanto gave the plastic-wrapped chest fried chicken with a friendly smile.

Agus accepted it with a haru look. After making small talk, Agus immediately walked back home. Every day he went and came home from work on foot for fifteen minutes.

Today, however, he decided to speed things up. Already imagined the look of Andi's cheerful face in his mind. The child will definitely jump up and down in excitement again when he sees a plastic package containing his favorite fried chicken.

Arriving in front of the house, there was a crowd of people. Agus' heart was a little worried. Do not-don't the village thugs who used to have a fight with him for fighting over the parking lot, come to want to bother him again because they still hold a grudge.

When Agus had reached the terrace of the house, everyone simultaneously looked towards him. They even pulled over so that Agus could go inside.

In his rented house in the form of a semi-permanent building, Agus saw his wife accompanied by neighbors holding Andi. But something was different about her son.

Andi who used to be cheerful now lay weakly with her eyes closed. There was so much blood filling his face. The boy who usually always chattered, now silenced a thousand languages.

"Andi," cried Agus tight. He threw a plastic bag filled with fried chicken and took Andi from his wife's arms.

"Why, Buk?" agus asked his wife.

But the wife could only remain silent while crying.

"Andi died hit by a truck, Gus," Mak Ijah replied while busy calming Aminah who looked very hit.

Instantly Agus' body felt limp. He saw the body of the child who was stiff.

"Why are you going, son? I've brought your favorite fried chicken" said Agus with tears welling up.

Agus cried in regret. He had not even granted his son's last wish. Even though the child only wanted fried chicken.

And fried chicken given by Mr. Yanto, which used to be a luxury food for them, is now lying on the floor, no longer worth it.

In his luxurious home, Mr. Yanto ate dinner accompanied by his wife.

"Pa, Mama had heard he said our new employee's son, Agus, died because he was hit by a truck. Poor thing, Pa."

Mr. Yanto turned his face away from the plate. He then wiped his slightly greasy lips.

"Yes it's his own fault, why did he take the fried chicken breast this afternoon. Try if he took chicken fried thigh, surely what will be the impact of our pesugihan is his wife. At least, if his wife dies, Agus can still marry again, right?"
