TUMBLED
A Different Morning

In the morning, the sun began to show a golden yellow light, the air became a little cold, the smell of dew filled the lungs as Arlan opened the glass door that limited his kitchen to the side yard of the house. He looked long at the rising sun. Enjoy the beautiful world in the morning.

Arlan had been awake from her sleep since three in the morning. He only fell asleep for about two hours that night. Larasati did not give him any time off at all. Every time Arlan sleeps, nightmares meet Larasati will always appear.

Arlan walked away from the glass door and sat in the minibar near her kitchen, to make a glass of warm milk. It makes it fresh and quiet rather than a glass of caffeine. Arlan let the TV in front of him light up, reporting on recent criminal cases.

Arlan devoured every criminal news there was. Some young girls are still reported missing. Plus the sudden deaths of some people on the streets that were found early in the morning. The cases sounded strange in the ears of a layman. However, for Arlan, everything makes sense when it comes to his parents and grandfather.

"Lo don't sleep?" Nanda approaches Arlan, breaking Arlan's concentration on the TV. He sat next to Arlan with messy hair.

"About two hours" replied Arlan. He sipped the warm milk in his hand slowly. "If you want something, do it. Juice is also in the refrigerator."

"Later on." Nanda stretched his body. Unlike Arlan, Nanda slept quite well that night. Although sleeping on the sofa, it turns out that the sofa is more soft than the bed at home. "Lo school? Or want to skip it? I'll ask Manda to skip it too so you can rest."

"It doesn't have to be so," Arlan refused. "Later to meet Manda, break time." Arlan clutched the glass with both hands. His eyes were still fixed on the news sliver on TV. "Those people, definitely victims of my family," he commented.

Nanda glanced at the TV, then examined the intent of Arlan's facial expression. "Quickly, we will stop that" replied Nanda. "Lo's been trying to fix what's wrong. By acting in this contrast, you can not immediately play a blow. Open the sound here and there. We have to think about it carefully. Let us not be the ones who want to improve the situation, even we who lost before fighting."

Arlan. He realized just how terrible the power of money his parents had. Arlan is their son. But he has also declared war openly.

"By the way, the news about the discovery of the bodies in the grass field, nothing at all" said Arlan. "Gue's been following a lot of news, but nil."

"Money beats everything. The media may be silent because of your parents' influence." Nanda glanced towards the quiet central space. "Your parents are not coming home? From last night deserted."

"It seems to take care of the problems we're making."

BOOM!!!

BOOM!!!

BOOM!!!

Nanda and Arlan looked up simultaneously. No need to be sure anymore, the sound must have come from Grandpa Pareng who hit the protection circle to enter the house.

"Crazy... It's been a storm this morning" grumbled Nanda. "Do we just hit that thing?"

Arlan grunted amusedly. "Lo himself told us to be more careful. Now, you want to sit on my grandfather?" Arlan laughed softly. "We can be mental."

"Damahihi!" Nanda giggles. "Joking, kidding. Where can I fight monsters if there is no Manda next to me." Nanda walked around the minibar, trying not to heed the noise above his head. "Gue makes breakfast, huh? Lo regular breakfast, right?"

"Gue has a housekeeper who will make breakfast" replied Arlan. "Lo wait a minute. Coming soon, right!"

Arlan's eyebrows shot up. "Can you really cook?" he's suspicious.

"Gue is not like you who from birth has brought a golden spoon," Nanda opened the refrigerator and examined the contents for a few seconds. "If my parents were busy, Manda and I used to make their own food. More efficient. We can also eat the food we want."

Arlan folded his hands on the minibar table. "Okay, I'm gonna be your cooking judge this morning."

"Haha! Funny too. We had a casual conversation like this, but above our heads there was a monster who wanted to enter the house."

"Lo himself seemed more relaxed. In fact, you said that my house is not comfortable because of human impact protection," said Arlan. However, in his heart Arlan felt grateful that Nanda was here. If Nanda had not been around, he would have been cowering alone in the room while closing his ears tightly, waiting for the bang on the roof to disappear by itself.

As it turns out, Nanda is more skilled than Arlan imagined. His hand when holding a knife or mixing ingredients into a frying pan, making Arlan gap in disbelief.

It did not take long, Nanda had prepared a plate of fried noodles containing vegetables on the dining table.

"Make what you believe is the easiest" Nanda said proudly. The fragrance of the cuisine did make Arlan's stomach roared to want to be fed. "If there's a Manda, maybe we can eat fried shrimp flour and omelet too."

Arlan hurriedly approached Nanda and joined the dining table. "May I try?" tanyakanya.

"No need to ask permission. Lo has a house," Nanda handed Arlan a fork and plate. "Eat as much as you."

Without waiting for Nanda to take his part of the plate, Arlan immediately ate Nanda's cooking. Apparently, Nanda's cooking taste better than her scent. Arlan could not stop chewing until half of his portion was gone. "No intention of opening a restaurant?"

"There was. I want to continue my dad's culinary business."

"Uhuk! Uhuk!" Arlan closed his mouth from choking. "Who?" tanyakanya.

"My father. He has a small restaurant in the middle of town." Nanda started breakfast. "If it is not a restaurant today and not too luxurious, we have regular customers and the restaurant is always crowded. Dad sometimes overtime too, because there are some customers who come home from work late. My dad is a unique hobby. He likes to see people eat. Especially if you eat it."

"Ooh... Pantesan lo a cook," Arlan admitted. He finished his breakfast in a few mouthfuls. "Other times, I'd like to try Manda's cooking too."

"Main to the house at dinnertime. Manda used to make dinner for us" Nanda asked.

That morning, Arlan was able to turn his mind to other things. Nanda did not stop talking to him, until Arlan was unaware of exactly when the sound of the bang had finally stopped.

Exactly thirty minutes before the lesson bell began, Arlan had already arrived at the school. Manda had also been waiting for him at the school gate. Manda's smiling face in the morning, adds to the calmness within Arlan.

'Lord, please give the servant enough age to see the smile on that face even longer, ' Arlan's inner self in the heart.
