TUMBLED

TUMBLED
Contender

The car driven by Mr. Imam drove at medium speed in the middle of the city streets that were not so crowded. That day drizzles over. The slippery road made Mr. Imam not dare to step on the gas.

As usual, Arlan leaned his head against the window. He likes to feel the cold coming from his forehead.

Ever since the genie attached to her disappeared, Arlan felt her body become lighter. There was no cold behind his neck. That cozy atmosphere, made Arlan fall asleep again, no matter if he had to dream about the old woman for the second time in a day. Arlan was very sleepy and tired. He's been facing a lot of things lately. His power was completely drained.

BRAK!!!

Arlan opened his eyes. He felt his body being thrown towards the left quickly. His shoulder was smashed by the car's glass until it broke. Arlan closed his eyes for a few seconds.

'An accident again?' inner Arlan was terrified.

However, the accident was brief. Arlan opened his eyes because there was no movement anymore. At that time, he found himself still in the car. The broken left car glass left a wound on Arlan's left shoulder and face. Arlan looked at the right part of the car that was pushed inwards. An angkot car that became the opponent of his collision, no less destroyed.

"Mas Arlan?" call the Imam from the steering bench. "Don't look there, Mas!" pinta Pak Imam's.

However, Arlan's eyes were fixed on the unconscious transport driver. The driver's head disappeared partially. There's blood on every corner.

"Mas Arlan!" shouted Mr. Imam. He tried to remove the seat belt that was stuck.

Arlan changed the direction of his view. He saw the passenger sitting next to the hauler driver, no less terrible. The woman drooped limp with a bone protruding from her chest. Blood soaked the easy red shirt that the woman was wearing.

"Mas Arlan! Arlan!" the voice of the Imam sounded raucous. He continued to fail to get out of his seatbelt.

"Arlan.." a soft voice from behind Arlan, made Arlan wake up. Arlan blinked, trying to relieve his dizziness.

Arlan turned towards the source of the voice. "Manda?" he said, when Arlan found Manda looking up from the broken window.

"Lan, can you move?"

Arlan nodded. His hands began to tremble. Arlan was feeling terrified at this moment. Manda is aware of Arlan's current state. He hurriedly opened the side door, albeit somewhat stuck. Manda immediately pulled Arlan out and swept him away from the half-shirted car.

After making sure Arlan was in a safe place, Manda returned to the car and helped Mr. Imam to get out of the car. When Manda succeeded in removing the Imam, then some people came to them. Manda saw six men checking the state of the transport car, because nothing moved from it.

"Manda... Those people..."

Manda hugged Arlan. "Calm down first. I'll explain later. Now, don't say anything" replied Manda.

Arlan according. He almost cried so scared. This was also the first time Arlan had seen such a sinister incident. Arlan immersed himself in Manda's arms. The comfort that Manda gives makes him almost asleep even if only a few seconds.

"Mas Arlan, is it okay?" Mr. Imam who was busy digesting what happened, finally decided to check on his master's son. "We'll go to the hospital first, okay?" said. Imam immediately called the ambulance service.

Not long after, the sound of sirens rumbling close to the crash site. Medics and police were scattered around the area. Mr. Imam wasted no time and went straight to one of the medics.

Arlan looked up, looking at Manda who was still standing by his side. Manda also still wrapped a hug on her shoulder. Just then, Arlan realized something. Manda looked far up at the crisp angkot.

"What's up, Man?" arlan whispers.

"That fog," hissed Manda. "He devoured every life that remained."

"Can it be stopped?"

Manda. "Slowly."

"My fault..."

"No!" Manda denied it. "Lo is not wrong! All of this is one of the perverted creatures that are after the immune science that you have!"

"But... If I don't have that knowledge..."

"Then what?" Mandaic emotions. "Absolutely, you ask to have that knowledge? You can't do anything about what God has destined, Lan!"

Arlan. Her tears almost fell. She did not expect that Manda had such a broad mind and she could be calm at a time like this.

"Is anyone hurt?" a medic wearing the nametag 'Hendru' approached them accompanied by the Imam who stood anxiously behind him.

"This child, sir," replied Manda, taking off her arms from Arlan.

Arlan nodded. Then Arlan stood by being swept by Mr. Hendru to the ambulance. Once Arlan had reached the ambulance, Mr. Imam immediately contacted Lili to report about the accident this morning.

"Gua went to the hospital," replied Manda who saw a questionable view from Arlan.

"But then the school will..."

"Gue can not leave you alone at this time," added Manda.

"We're going to the hospital now, yes," Mr. Hendru said.

"Son!" Lili came and immediately hugged Arlan, when she saw Arlan sitting in the waiting room. "Are you hurt?"

"It's just a little" replied Arlan, revealing a wound that had been neatly covered with bandages.

Lili moves riled. "It must be because of Dad," muttered Lili.

"You mean Mama, Grandpa Pareng?" ask Arlan.

Lili glanced around before jagwwb. "Yes. Your grandfather wanted to harm you."

"Grandfather want to take my immunity?"

Lilies eyes are round. His ears did not want to believe what he had just heard. "You... You know that?"

"I'm disappointed, because I knew it wasn't from my parents" Arlan said.

Lili's hands were interlocked. There was clearly worry on his face. "Sorry, Arlan... I just don't want you to worry about this."

"But this concerns my life, Ma!" Arlan's upset. "If I had known, maybe I could have helped find a way out!"

Lili shook her head in a doldrums. "We have tried everything. But, nothing works. So Mama made a deal with the genie to take care of you."

"What did Mom grow?"

"You don't need to know," suddenly Fahmi's voice appeared not far from where they were sitting. "Jin is looking after you. Just accept the benefits your parents give you!"

Arlan laughed crisply. "The advantage of black creatures?" sindir Arlan's. "If I had known that the genie was looking after me because of human sacrifices, I would rather die."

THE PLAQUE!

A slap landed on Arlan's right cheek. The next instant, he felt a throbbing hot sensation.

"We're trying desperately to keep you alive! How dare you have the will to die!" exclaim Lili. His anger explodes when Arlan says he wants to give up on life.

"It's not Grandpa Pareng that's dangerous, is it?" Arlan replied. "But Larasati."

"W-what?"

Arlan smiled at Lili and Fahmi who put on a confused face. "I've had a dream about a woman with a broken body looking for me. This year, it's my turn to die because Larasati has cursed our family, right?"

Fahmi squeezed Lili's shoulders trembling in fear. "We... We'll find a way to get the curse past you."

"Not passable, Oom." Manda walked closer towards Arlan. "Sorry, I interrupted your conversation. But, from what I witnessed, Arlan could not get through all of these events. He's got an immune science for a reason."

"Who are you?" ask Fahmi.

"Include, Oom, Aunt... I'm Manda, Arlan's schoolmate."

Lili looked up at Fahmi. "He was the one who helped Arlan during the accident the other day" Lili explained.

"I will help Arlan to fight against the perverted creatures who are willing to take his life" added Manda.
