Whys?

Whys?
A Bunch of Crazy People

Since the incident in the music room at that time, it can be ascertained that the relationship between Eva and Ren is getting closer. If previously Eva was indifferent every Ren approached her, this time he welcomed her arrival, even without realizing it always chat until dissolved. As always, Gita never misses any chance to tease her best friend. But instead of being annoyed or embarrassed like before, now Eva just smiled sweetly without a definite answer. As a result, Gita was lazy to prank him and lost his toys.

The days are going normally. Date after date alternated, and did not feel two months passed since the day of Ren's arrival. As scheduled, SMA Nusa Biru has entered the Final Examination month of Semester II.

“Eva-chan, want to study together?”

Eva, who had just arrived in class and was about to put her backpack on the chair, stopped. Today is Friday, the last day of school before the semester exams on Monday begin. So, what does Ren's question mean to study together?

“Before moving here I also had a school in Japan, but the lessons were different. So, I had to repeat Indonesian lessons from the beginning of the semester. Are you willing to accompany me to study together?”

“Au—”

“You want to learn together? I'm coming.”

Suddenly out of nowhere, the Son with a frowning face joined between them. Unknowingly Eva swallowed her saliva.

“You ... want to learn with us?” ask Eva doubtfully. The reason, although Putra is a troubled and respected student, he is smart enough to always be in the top three of the ranking—igns the fact he often truant. Not to forget too, he and the Son were still keeping their distance and awkwardly.

“Iya. Wh why? Can't?”

Eva shunned the piercing gaze of the Son. “It can't be, anyway. But you don't like group work, do you?” During this time he was never active in any task, but the other friends were too afraid to cross his name.

“It was group work, now group study, different,” replied Putra still fiercely. “So? I can't come? I'm smart, I can teach this Japanese kid too.”

Unable to answer, Eva could only look at Ren. “How, Ren? Can she come?”

Ren nodded. “Of course,” answers. “Before that, whose name are you?” he continued asking the son.

Instead of answering, Putra just glared at Ren. “What do you mean ask my name? You pretended not to know or did deliberately invite me noisily?”

“Woah, woah, the patient, Mas, the patient!” andi panicked.

Knowing Ren's lack of being unable to remember people's faces, Eva hurriedly chimed in, “Ren just asked your name, why do you have such emotions? You yourself are also often truant, so it's natural that Ren doesn't recognize you.”

The son still wanted to rebel, but his intentions were locked in as soon as he heard Eva's explanation. Then he threw away his face. “Ya already, sorry. My name is Putra.”

As if the incident just now wasn't a big deal, Ren kept smiling at her. “Greetings.”

“Wow, what is this?” The newly arrived Gita joined in immediately. “Tumben. I missed something, huh? Is there a son? Looks like there's been a terrible incident.”

“No, coke. No problem anything,” replied Eva quickly. “Ren just ngajak learning together, you want to come?”

Gita's face instantly turned clear. “Better I think how to bring cheat instead of forcing my brain to remember those crazy formulas.”

Hearing Gita's reply, Eva's breath seemed to stop. He was worried only studying alone with Ren—, which is likely to end up at his home. However, now he was even more worried about the Son who suddenly wanted to join. Eva still clearly remembers the expression of the Son when he refused his declaration of love. Then what was his purpose now to approach him again after dodging all this time?

“Anu ... Can I come?” Andi raised his hand in doubt. “I am weak in Chemistry, so it would be better if anyone taught me.”

“Whatever,” said Son flatly. “I'll be waiting for you at the door later. So do not expect to run away from me,” he continued with a threatening tone and then moved to his seat in the back corner. Just as he sat down, the school bell rang. Each of them took a seat, excluding Gita who was strangely still standing while gawking.

“Wait a minute, I didn't see wrong, did I? Son learn together?” Both of Gita's eyes were staring at Eva wide. “Crazy! Why don't you tell me, anyway? A spectacle like this is impossible to miss! I'm coming!”

Instead of feeling calm because there are many people, Eva is increasingly anxious.
