You're My Antidote

You're My Antidote
Childhood Idol

To little Rani, Raja looks cool in her eyes. With the pure white skin he hadn't met from the orphanage kids. A beautiful face even at such a small age. Then good clothes that always look fit in the King's tall body more than children his age.

Everything about the King, that little Rani always wanted was in her husband when he grew up.

He likes the King. The king is his idol. That's what Rani always told all the residents of the orphanage including Haikal.

"You know, from childhood I always idolized the King?" kilah Rani answers Haikal's question asking why the King should be her future husband.

Although their relationship is quite close, but Rani does not want Haikal to know the truth.

"But you said the King was just an idol you never expected to love."

Rani nodded with her fake smile. Until this moment, Rani still considers King an idol that he cannot reach. "But who the hell, Kal, would refuse if someone you idolized suddenly came to propose?"

Haikal seemed to be in disbelief and still tried to argue, but Rani first interrupted.

"Don't King. Lee min ho who came to propose, I will definitely accept. What else the King I've known from childhood." lied Rani again. Either he has to lie to how many people by pretending to be happy for the sake of them not worrying about him.

"If you're ready to get married, why don't you tell me!" haikal's voice was frustrated. Her best friend scooped her face and squeezed her own hair.

"What would you do if you knew I was ready to get married? you're the one who came to propose to me?" joked Rani with a small laugh. But Haikal's reply made him instantly silent in disbelief.

Haikal looked up and saw him straight. "Yes! I'll propose to you! I'll marry you, Ran!" said the man firmly which made him speechless. Haikal grabbed both of his shoulders and shook them.

"I always treated you well! I've loved you from childhood but you never saw it!" Haikal began to look emotional. But Rani did not pay too much attention to it, the statement of her best friend that made her shocked. He never expected this day to come. The day Haikal expressed his feelings to her.

"Because all you see is the King, Ran." Haikal removed his shoulders and muttered with reddened eyes. "You only see the King. Not me!"

Rani covered her shock with a small laugh. An awkward laugh that doesn't feel good to hear. "Your jokes this time aren't funny, Kal." he hit his best friend's shoulder slowly.

Haikal laughed back. Laughter that sounds painful. "I've always been a joke to you" the man stood up. Gets him. "May you be happy with your decision this time, Ran."

Rani was only able to let out a long sigh seeing Haikal move away bringing disappointment.

He never imagined they would be in position right now. Stay away from feelings.

Rani is already comfortable with their status as best friends and siblings who grew up together in the orphanage. There was no feeling more than him for Haikal.

Rani has no intention of pursuing Haikal. Not knowing what answer or explanation he could give the man.

He will give Haikal time to accept what is happening now. Because even she needs time to accept her marriage which only counts days.

***

Sadness is seen almost all over the faces of the residents of the orphanage today. Including the image that soon his adoptive family will come.

Image is only five years old, but the girl is smart enough to know what's going on.

They had all just finished breakfast and listened to the housewife who was talking to the children about Citra who would soon be reunited with her new family.

"Yeah.. Who will I sleep with, Mom?"

"Well, who will I learn, Mom?"

Many more orphanage children respond to what the mother of the parlor says.

"Ikhlaskan Citra goes with his new family. Let him be happy and live better. One day, you will also find a family that loves you just as much as Citra."

When he heard the sound of the car stopping in front of the orphanage, Rani asked the permission of the orphanage mother so that she would meet their guests.

Today Rani did take a leave of absence in order to release Citra to her new family. Also to avoid the King after their proposal event yesterday.

When Rani arrives at the front door, she is shocked to find Adit there. "Lho! brother Adit?"

The King's best friend simply smiled and waved his hand.

"You know each other?" the voice of the woman who sounded warm and able to shake the heart made Rani realize that Adit did not come alone.

"This is Rani who yesterday Adit told me the same mother."

The woman who looked younger because of her beauty was smiling towards her with happy eyes twinkle.

"It's so pretty." Adit's mom's compliments made him smile. "The king will not regret getting you. Can you hug?"

Rani looked at Adit who nodded in agreement. Making her smile wider and closer and hug the mother of Adit first.

"Congratulations Rani." Inexplicably, Adit's mother's congratulation felt different from the other words. The words of the person he just met but felt his sincerity. It is not just pleasantries fulfilling formalities.

"King is a good child even though it seems like you have a lot of patience to get his attention" the woman added after taking off their brief but remaining warm embrace.

"Rani knows the King better than us, bun. They've known each other since childhood."

"Ooh yeah. Mother forgot." the crisp laughter made Rani laugh. "Titip Raja ya Rani. Please please happy him."

Of the many people who had no blood ties with the King, only the mother of Adit left the King to him. Is it as close and dear as Adit's mother to the King?

"Well, ma'am?" rani replied with a forced smile.

"Don't call mom, dong!" adit's mother's protest against him. "Call me mother. Like Adit. Like the King."

Once again Rani looked at Adit asking for approval which was immediately replied with a nod. "I think I have a lot of kids. So many of my friends who are considered children, to forget their own children." joked Adit immediately got a pinch from his mother. The sight made him miss a family in his life.

"Oh yes, until I forget. Please come in ma'am, Adit's sister." she allowed the two men to enter the parlour's living room.

"Why is she still a mother?"

"Ooh yeah. I mean, please enter the bun. Sorry it's narrow."

The two guests sat on a rattan chair next to each other. Rani herself sat in a separate seat with them.

"The narrow is warm. Happy with family." said Adit's mother who returned to make Rani smile.

"Until you forget to ask the purpose of the arrival of mother and sister Adit here so happy to meet mother who will definitely be the dream mother of anyone child who does not have a mother."

"Sure dong. My mother is the best." Adit agreed and agreed to what he said. "We've come to pick up the future mother's son."

"Ooh potential family, Citra?" ask Rani who can finally feel relieved after knowing who will become Citra's adoptive family is the Adit family. At least he can feel the sincerity of Adit's mother and he can make them good family than he saw Adit all this time.
