You're My Antidote

You're My Antidote
That Bracelet

"I'll go first."

Rani stared at the departure of the King who left a gentle swab on his head wrapped in hijab. Her husband had been clearing the schedule since three in the afternoon. And it was only at half-four when the man left in a hurry.

How important was the person the King met to make the man so worried to be late? Obviously, the King left not for business. Because it would definitely involve him if it was a work matter.

The king had also told him to go straight to Shandika's residence. No need to wait for office hours to run out. But he felt bad for the others.

As the King said this morning, it does not mean that he is the wife of a director to make it easy to work.

"Where's the boss going, in such a hurry? why don't you come?" Lura put the results of the meeting report to be submitted to the King tomorrow.

"There's business." Rani replied turning her attention away from Lura on the documents that her senior was carrying. Didn't want Lura to dig up more information that she herself didn't know. She did not want Lura to think that much because she did not know where her husband was going. Although he was sure Lura was not such a woman.

"Elo's fine, isn't it, Ran? no one bothers you anymore?"

Rani nodded with a smile. As Lura said, the people in the office no longer gossiped about it. Whether afraid of the King or what, clearly Rani felt relieved and grateful. What the king said is true. Everything's gonna be fine.

The woman who spread Rani's identity has been fired. The woman envied seeing Rani. He has worked for a long time at the company and has been a staff secretary to other directors. As soon as the King came in and looked for a secretary, the woman immediately proposed. But unfortunately his efforts ended in vain because Rani passed the selection. The child has just graduated and has no experience.

And from Lura's story, Rani knows that the woman was also blacklisted in several companies that cooperate with Shandika's family-owned company.

"Pity the hell, son. But his ethics can not make people pity." Lura grumbled that made Rani chuckle. Women and gossip are hard to let go. "Go home! there's no work, is there, lo?" throw Lura out as if knowing her anxiety.

"Don't you, brother, if Rani comes home?"

"What if you go home? work is done. The boss is gone. So yes, go home."

"Rani is afraid of getting rubbed again." shows her teeth. "Later there will be new rumors about the new wife of the director who works at will."

"Mighty caring! if anyone dares to do that lo kayak, lo bales only. If you want, marry equally! easy right?"

Rani just smiled. Follow Lura's advice and start packing her things. "Actually Rani was invited to the same house as Ms. Lintang. That's why Rani wants to go home soon."

Lura rounded her eyes and helped her pack up. "Why didn't you say that!" his nag. "In addition to his wife, the owner of the company, he is also your father-in-law. So don't make Lintang mom wait, lo."

Lura even pushed her towards the elevator. Though Rani will go to the house of in-laws, but Lura who panics is afraid of being fired as a daughter-in-law.

***

After stopping by to buy some hands, Rani again continued her journey to the Shandika residence with the driver of the office that the King had prepared.

Because it has not entered the hours of return to work, so the streets are not so crowded. Make Rani arrive at the Shandika residence before evening.

The king brought him down together. But Rani refused because she was still waiting for the report of the meeting results from Lura. "Sorry, mah. There was still some work."

"It's okay."

Rani thought Lintang's mother would be as angry as she expected on the phone this morning. But the woman who was still beautiful at her age did not even see the slightest anger in her face.

"You just wait in the king's room? you must be tired. Just rest there. The king said he had business first, yes?"

Rani is escorted to the second floor. Right in the King's room next to the front balcony. Again the room with shades of gray like the house he and the King occupied.

"You just rest. Later when dinner is ready, mama calls."

"Yes mah." she replied. He had indeed been wara-wiri coming to this house. Meet with the whole family. Rani used to feel ordinary. Feel familiar with them all. But for some reason since bearing the status of a son-in-law in this family, he felt a slight sense of unease in his heart. Fear of wrongdoing and so on. The difference in social status between them still makes Rani not confident.

"If you want to take a shower, in the dressing room there are clothes for you that the King has prepared." added Lintang mother drove him into the room. "And if you need anything, just call aunty?" rubbing Rani's arm gently and saying goodbye back down.

After taking a bath and carrying out his obligations to the creator, Rani stared with interest at the King's room which was the first time Rani entered. The King's private place, where the man spent much time at night.

The work desk, a king-size bed and all its details are no different from other rooms. What has attracted Rani's attention since entering is a glass cabinet filled with acrion figures. Rani just found out Raja likes things like that. Her husband is still human.

He observed one by one the toys at a price that definitely made him think many times to buy them. His forehead folded staring at some objects that are not in accordance with the collection that is in it.

There's a plaster of reminating scars. There was a small butterfly-shaped hairpin framed beautifully in a box. Some chwey chocolate candies that have not circulated in other frames.

What makes Rani surprised is the beaded bracelet that she is very familiar with. With a blue bead and two letters R. It was her bracelet when she was ten.

There used to be donors who came to the orphanage and brought beads for them to play together, Rani thought of making bracelets for the King. To a friend who always looks sad.

But when he gave it, the King refused by throwing the bracelet. The king said she's not a girl who wears a bracelet like that.

Rani was crying, of course. Looking for that thing that the King threw in the bushes. But until the afternoon the bracelet he made with all his heart and hope to entertain the King never met. The teenager just stood still looking at him looking for the bracelet with tears that did not stop flowing.

Surrender. Rani stood up and looked at the King sharply."Rani hates Raja! brother of the evil King!" for the first time he was angry with the king. He ran and left the King. Until several times the King came to the orphanage, Rani always avoided him. Never again to see the king.

No Rani thought, that thing turned out to be here. It is still in the same form even though dozens of years have passed.
