After Two Decades

After Two Decades
In the Name of Father

The heat of the day had taken control of the day as I got ready. I've had a shower, it's back fresh and fit. It's back on power. I am excited to get on with life. There is a job waiting for me. My new work suit, neatly wrapped up the body. That afternoon, my favorite motorcycle came out of the garage. Running on the city streets. With a mood that is no longer as dark as yesterday, not as bad as yesterday. Although there are still remnants, but let it be. I realized, grieving constantly will also not be able to change anything. So I better get back to work, find that peace.

It didn't take long, my motorcycle had entered the parking area of the Korp office building. Masadepan. From the parking lot I immediately went inside. Greet every staff I pass by in a friendly manner. They were glad I was no longer like yesterday. I entered work fine today without any hindrance, even though I had been absent for three days without asking permission. Even today I come to the office when the sun is over my head. Other employees might be sanctioned with a pay cut or something, but not for me. As the adopted son of the director of the company, I was not subject to any sanctions. It sounds unfair and tends not to be good, but that's what it is. After all, as the head of the Anti-Conflict Timsus, my main job is not in the office. I work by coming to the office of another company with all sorts of affairs and meetings. So it's no surprise that I'm rarely in the office. Plus, this myself includes people who are respected by other staff because of my reputation, so they will definitely understand if something happens to me.

I arrived at the study. Hadni greeted me enthusiastically.

"Hi, Ren!" sapana. "It turns out you came too, when you should just rest first. Hmm, that's okay. I'm glad to see you back refreshed and excited."

I didn't answer, but I threw a friendly smile. I've loosened my attitude towards Hadni, and maybe to other women as well. Since this morning, I had been enlightened and finally decided to change my mindset. I have been wrong all this time for always being indifferent and rude to Hadni. I may be traumatized by the past and not want to be in a relationship, but that doesn't mean I have to be indifferent, distant, and disrespectful to women. There is no harm in me appreciating and accepting Hadni's treatment of me. The important thing is that I can take care of my own heart and feelings. As long as there is no special follow-up between me and Hadni, then I will be fine. There's nothing wrong with me being on good terms with him as secretary and superior. He did his job well and with pleasure. Although I know, Hadni keeps the taste to me, but let it be. I'm sure she's a strong woman.

"Hadni, yesterday's report is done?" ask me as soon as I get to the desk.

"Already, Ren! It was finished yesterday!"

"All right, thank you."

Hadni smiled as she smiled. I never saw him that happy. Maybe today he was really happy because I had changed my attitude towards him. No longer shunned like the day before.

"How is the Time Machine project?" my many.

"The updated data this morning from the lab, the project is already running 90%." Hadni reads the data in her gawai.

"Well, that's great. A little more perfect, this is already the sixth month of the process. It will be ready soon."

"Right, I can't wait for him either" Hadni said.

"Good, good!" muttered.

"Hm, Ren, may I ask you a question?" Hadni stood up from her position and approached towards the table.

"Please" I replied.

"Have you found out about the chronology of your father's murder?"

I stopped from my work on the computer and looked straight at Hadni.

"Sorry, Ren! Sorry!" Hadni hurriedly said so afraid I would get angry.

"It's okay, Hadni. I'm just a little surprised, but honestly, I don't know the chronology of what happened. I just know that my father was murdered, I didn't have time to ask the chronology of what happened. Why are you asking like that? Do you know?"

"Hmm, I've been looking for information and data about that. And it turns out that the incident was once published in the news media at that time. I've gathered all the information."

"So, how?" manya curious.

"So that afternoon your father came home from work early. He drives from the office to the house. However, in the middle of the trip, precisely on the Coastal Road, the car had a single accident. The car was suddenly screwed, uncontrolled and finally hit the road divider and then overturned. People thought it was a regular accident that caused the driver to be drowsy or a technical malfunction of the engine, but when checked, your father was already lying with his head drenched in blood. Died on the spot, but the accident was not too severe. Police are investigating this incident. After an autopsy, a bullet was found lodged in his head. In the car, two bullets were also found. So, the police concluded that your father had been the victim of a drive-by shooting. The shooter fired three shots and the third shot was on target. That's why the car suddenly lost control and turned upside down. Unfortunately, the police are deadlocked to find out who the perpetrator of the murder was."

I was stunned then looked down listlessly. Chin to the table. Daydreamed.

"Sorry, Ren!" said Hadni softly.

"It's okay, Hadni. Thank you for collecting that information for me!"

"Yes, Ren. I think you need to know." The girl finally smiled looking at my face which was no longer moody.

"Oh, yes, Ren. I have some advice for you!" said later.

"Saran?"

"Look, Ren, regarding the Time Machine Project will soon be completed. I suggest you use that time machine, to go back in time, so you can find out who the murderer was!"

"You too, Hadni!" I said immediately enthusiastically. Why didn't I think of that. "Alright, thanks for the advice, Hadni!"

"Together, Ren!"

"Oh yes, thank you for all your help. I feel very helped. Now I'm getting my spirit back, and I promise I'll take your advice."

"Yes, Ren. The important thing is that you are not sad anymore" replied Hadni. He smiled again innocently. Again, I felt like I was seeing someone who made me calm, but I don't know who.

"Hadni, you .. are you really sincere about doing all this for me?"

Hadni nodded with a smile.

"Are you going to continue like this, I mean to continue .. love me, however I am?" ask me in wonder.

"Of course, Ren!" the answer without hesitation.

"However is my condition?"

"Anyway, Ren. Even if you fall into poverty and have no more possessions, I am still willing to accompany you!"

Instantly I fell silent. I don't know what else to say. While Hadni, I kept looking at her just keep smiling.

"Hm, thank you, Hadni!" finally said. "But, I'm sorry, my heart is still too hard and very closed. I don't know my feelings at all, I don't understand my own. So I can't say for sure!"

"It's okay, Ren. I understand your feelings! Don't think too much about my feelings, I'm fine."

"Eh, sorry, Ren! It's working hours, but I'm talking personal!" said Hadni, embarrassed.

I smiled while shaking my head. After that I went back to my computer screen. Hadni also returned to her car. Continue the work of each. However, not long after, I quickly got off the desk.

"Hadni, I'm leaving now, I'm going to visit that lab, check the latest developments. So, please collect the data on that computer!"

"Oh, ready, boss!" answer Hadni with passion. He turned to my desk. Do the instructions I give.

"All right, see you!" I left that room.

"Be careful!"

Before leaving the office, I stopped by Mr. Roy's office. This time I came over nicely, knocked on the door and asked for permission politely.

Mr. Roy looks relieved and happy to see my arrival. I sat in front of his desk with reverence.

"I'm sorry, Ren!" said Mr. Roy directly.

"Already, Sir. I was too carried away by the feeling of that time, forgive my disrespectful actions yesterday."

"I'm not mad at you, you deserve to do that to me, son! I understand how you feel, I'm sorry, yes!"

"I'm sorry, sir!"

Roy was silent after that. His face was depressed and beaten. So sad. I'm sorry to see it. I don't know why he looked so moody and downcast, which was so awful, and I had never seen him for a dozen years living with him.

"Oh yeah, Ren! What about yesterday's choice?" tanyanya.

This time I was silent, unable to answer.

"Sorry, sir, I have to leave now!" I immediately switched the conversation. Rise up and leave the room, before his affairs become complicated.

Mr. Roy was just stunned staring at me stepping out. It might feel bad, and this time it won't keep pushy.

I left that room. Leaving that office building. Drive towards an isolated building at the end of the city. Korp's laboratory. Masadepan is the place where the time machine creation project works. There, dozens of workers are directly supervised by 23 of the world's leading scientists. And proud of me, the group of scientists was led by scientists from within the country. They were responsible for nearly six months, spending trillions of rupiah to create a device that would make new history in the world of technology.

I rode my motorcycle casually this time. Crossing the daytime streets filled with vehicles owned by traveling merchants. That is the reality, the world has changed with the technological revolution that is increasingly advanced. However, there are still things in the past that cannot be eliminated.

"Incoming call from Sanjaya!" Sanjaya's name was on the glass screen of my flickering helmet.

"Incoming call from Sanjaya!"

Sanjaya is a representative of the Anti-Conflict Timsus who I'm tasked with overseeing developments in the lab. Why did he suddenly call me?

"Connect!" my spoken.

"Hallo, Sanjaya?"

"Hallo, Sir! Gawat, the lab's under attack!" exclaim Sanjaya directly without shady aling-aling. His voice sounded breathless.

"What?" I was surprised not to play until I almost lost my driving focus. "Who attacked you?"

"There was a group of people dressed all in white, masked like ninjas, carrying firearms. They're threatening the entire lab!"

Damn, I never thought something like this would happen. There are always surprising things in my life. Surprise after surprise is running out of my patience. This attack was clearly intent on thwarting our project. And I'll never let this happen. Whoever sent this attack must have a serious grudge against the Korp. Masadepan. This is not the first time there has been an attack on our project and our company. I'm not surprised anymore, the business world now also has a dark side where people justify everything. Even this kind of dirty way. I think and count fast.

"Sanjaya, you secure the main lab. Put down all the executioner troops that were there! Do your best to resist the attack until help arrives!"

"Ready, Sir!"

The connection is directly disconnected.

"Connect the call to Dani!" I entered the voice command hurriedly.

"Hallo, good day, Mr. Ren! Ready to receive orders!"

"Listen carefully, the laboratory was attacked by a mysterious force, immediately send a relief force there! Send an emergency message to each team in their own post!" I delivered the instructions briefly and clearly.

"Ready, Sir! Do it!"

I broke the connection without further ado. The one I just called was Dani, the head of the Execution Team. He was the one leading and coordinating the troops. The Executioner Team itself is a sub-division of Timsus Anti-Conflict in charge of specialists dealing with cases of violence. They are the combat troops I trust the most. So, whenever there is this kind of attack, we don't need to ask the police forces for help. Because we have our own special forces.

"Dhen, turn on the emergency sign to all internet traffic connected to the office!" my orders.

"Light up!"

All right, now it's my turn. I pulled the gas as deep as I could. I can't be late. Bad things can happen. If this project fails, then my history is finished. I may go bankrupt to run out of all the property to compensate for the loss of Koh Shung company as our gamble.

But that's not really what I'm worried about. Losing all my wealth is not a disaster for me. It's just that, if this project fails, I can't go back in time to find out who killed my father. That's what I'm worried about.

So, the project cannot fail. It's almost perfect. I should get there as soon as possible. Before it's too late. The attacking force obviously could not wait. I am not afraid and I am not afraid. It's my turn to act like Jan. The attackers did not know who to face. No longer with the usual adrenaline and morale of work, I drove towards them carrying a burning spirit on behalf of my father.
