After Two Decades

After Two Decades
The Story of Early Day

I knew it was late in the morning, but I decided not to go home, but to the headquarters. Departing from the city's international airport, we set off with a black sedan splitting the city streets. Ironically, in the early hours like this does not make this magnificent city so quiet. Along the streets we crossed, there were still enough crowds and activities of the city residents. There are still many night creatures wandering around. That is the reality of the big city.

Dani drives the car at a leisurely pace. We drove for almost half an hour, before finally getting to the front of the towering building we were heading to. Korp's headquarters building. Masadepan. The car got into the parking lot and stopped there. It is the only vehicle still parked there. Because before, there was indeed not a single vehicle in that place. So quiet. Given it's early morning, so it's only natural.

I opened the door and got out of the car. Before I walked away, I paused beside the window.

"Well, thank you for dropping off" I told Dani and two of his bodyguards.

"Ready, Sir!" answer Dani firmly. "What about?"

"You can go home or back to base, or .. whatever!" my answer.

"Ready, thank you!" said Dani pula.

I nodded and smiled knot.

Dani also smiled, then stepped on the gas pedal deeply. The car's engine is swinging, the wheels are squeaking. Then it moved forward and maneuvered back and forth right in front of me. Like a professional racer, Dani rode the sedan around my body and then darted out of the parking area. Disappear behind the gate in front of there.

I myself then stepped towards the entrance into this building. The atmosphere was very quiet when I entered. There was not a single person I met along the corridors and rooms I passed through. I just take a step back. Entering the elevator, sliding up to the floor of the building where my work space is housed.

The elevator door made a hiss when it opened, and I got out. One step in the corridor, two strangers greeted me. My guess is absolutely right. It wasn't wrong for me to choose to come to the office instead of going home. These two people were really waiting for my arrival. Relief to resist sleepiness until the early hours of the morning.

"Renato!" hadni said full haru. This girl stood right in front of me, welcoming impatiently. His face looked sad and happy to see my arrival. I don't know what he's feeling, but it seems he can't hold a fiery feeling in him. It was obvious that he was enthusiastic and excited.

While behind him, stood Mr. Roy, the president director of this company as well as my adoptive father. Both of them looked excited to see me coming. This old man still looked as authoritative as ever. Smiling at me with a face that should also be said, thank goodness you're finally back in good health, my son!

"Renato, I'm so glad you're finally back!" Hadni surges in excitement. He almost jumped up and grabbed me tightly. I glared and was shocked, not expecting Hadni to do that. Fortunately, I was more active. I immediately dodged and restrained his arm, canceling his movements.

"Don't, Hadni!" I warned while smiling kindly.

Hadni stunned. Dead step. His face was completely flushed with embarrassment. At the moment his face was very close to mine, it was clear on his face that he was feeling nervous and awkward. This girl blushed and became clumsy due to her spontaneity act earlier, she slowly retreated herself from feeling bad.

"Ma–Sorry, Ren!" he said with a stifled voice.

I just smile again.

"Father," I turned to Mr. Roy next to him. Come and hug this old man. He hugged back and patted me on the back.

"Are you okay?" tanyakanya.

"Yes, Sir. I'm fine" I replied kindly. "Prof. Ram is fine too. He had come home to his family earlier. Some members were also escorting him earlier."

"Thank you, Ren!" said Mr. Roy later. "You are indeed proud and extraordinary, for the umpteenth time you saved our company. Had it not been for you, somehow the fate of the Korp. The next step after this."

"Yes, Ren!" timpal Hadni.

Mr. Roy took off his embrace and smiled kindly.

I am too. He said, "Thank you for all the flattery, don't overdo it. Most importantly now all conditions will return as usual. Profs. Ram has been saved, maybe he will take a few days off to calm himself and mentally. Next the project of the time machine will continue until it is completed."

Mr. Roy did not answer. He only breathed a long sigh of relief.

"After this, the company's condition will stabilize in the next few days!" my continue.

"But, Ren," said Hadni. "How's the story? Who is the person responsible for causing all this chaos?"

"Ah, that's it," continued Mr. Roy. "I'm also very curious, Ren. Who is the person who has a problem with us, and what is the problem so he does this. I would be very interested to listen to your story, how did it get to East Nusa Tenggara?"

I smiled meaningfully. "The story is very long, can we move places first? I'm sure you don't want to hear this long story by standing in the middle of a continuous corridor."

"Ah, right too," welcome Mr. Roy. "Then we should just go to my room."

Hadni and I looked at each other and exchanged smiles. Then we both walked side by side towards the room at the end of the corridor. Followed Mr. Roy who walked a bit limped with his old body and was already weak.

While walking, I quietly glanced at Hadni's face while she looked forward. This girl looks very excited and happy. I don't understand, what I've been doing all this time is just giving her hope. Makes her feel like I'm giving her a place in my heart. I can't say yes to that. Did I hurt her by doing this? I wonder to myself, this Hadni is too sincerely loving. He knew I didn't love him, but he didn't change the way he treated me. It is only natural that he is hurt or disappointed to know that. However, it didn't look the least, it easily accepted what I was saying. To this day, he still appreciates and cares for me. How irony. Poor sometimes too.

"So, what's the story, Ren?"

"First of all I asked Jan, my best friend who is an elite cop, for help" I started to tell him. "He said that he knew some of the faces of the mysterious forces that attacked our lab. Jan said, the troops belong to the Green Floor Building."

"Green Floor Buildings?" cut Mr. Roy. "Oh, yes, I heard the news. The casino was shut down by the government, its license revoked. The condition of the building was chaotic, with all of his troops lying helplessly. Junior Fadz-Riel is also unconscious."

"Yes, it was us" I said. "From there we got information that Prof. Ram was taken to East Nusa Tenggara. So with Jan's police aircraft facility, we flew to East Nusa Tenggara that night as well. In short, we got there in the morning. Sawu Island, Sabu Raijua, East Nusa Tenggara. Our goal is the Black Skull headquarters, as the Green Floor Building troops can be ascertained to be from this criminal organization. The thing is, once we get to that base, we're overrun by another mysterious force in black."

"Black-clothed troops?"

"Yes, the black-clad troops. Later I learned that they were actually the ones who kidnapped Prof. Ram, not the Black Skull. The Black Skull has no connection whatsoever. So you see, the Green Floor Army first attacked the lab and kidnapped Prof. Ram. Later Prof. Ram was handed over to the black-clad troops to be brought to East Nusa Tenggara."

"Who are they?"

"They are troops belonging to people who actually have a grudge with the Korp. Masadepan."

"Huh? Who's she?"

"Listen first!" my spoken. "After we were invaded by the black-clad troops, we ran to the city center and hid behind the building. It turned out that the Black Skull troops knew of our arrival and were ordered to hunt us down. Then we got word from Jan's colleague who was infiltrating the Black Skull headquarters that Prof. Ram was not there, but was taken by a black-clad army to an island in the south."

I paused for a moment. I see Mr. Roy and Hadni are seriously waiting for the story to continue.

"We disguised ourselves as members of the Black Skull army. With that disguise we reached the shore, then robbed the motorboat of the Black Skull that was hunting us. By motor boat we crossed to the destination island. On the island, we were confronted by hundreds of black-clad troops. Up to an old hut, their base. After fighting desperately, finally Prof. Ram we found there. And guess who we found?"

"Who?"

"I first thought he was Sam Soetadji, a man who clearly held a grudge against the Korp. Masadepan."

"Want to?"

"It turns out he's not Sam Soetadji" I replied.

"So?" urged Hadni.

I took a long breath. He replied, "Henry Purnomo, aka Koh Shung?"

"Huh?" Mr. Roy glared and surged from his position at once. For a moment he was glued to gawk with his mouth gaping like an electric shock. "Did I hear wrong?"

"Koh Shung?" Hadni was also as flabbergasted as a face of disbelief. "How is it possible? He was our partner for a long time. How could he do all this?"

"It's so unbelievable, Ren!" added Mr. Roy. "How could that tycoon have a grudge or hate against us? We've been partnering with him for years, haven't we?"

"I find it hard to believe, too" I replied. "But the fact is that Koh Shung has held grudges and heartaches against us since the collapse of PT. Jarilangit."

"Jarrangeit?" repeat Mr. Roy. His surprise was alternating and inexhaustible. "What connection?"

"So, Sam once asked Koh Shung for help when PT. Jarilangit's been having a hard time." I continued to tell stories. "Koh Shung refuses to remember his relationship with us. It made Sam disappointed and hated him. At the time of PT. Jarilangit completely falls, Sam goes on a rampage and spirals out of control until he. His wife and children were killed. He alone survived."

Hadni gulped for the sake of hearing my words. Mr. Roy is still glaring with a wrinkled face.

"Since that Koh Shung was frustrated, all his sadness made him lose the spirit of life. Hatred began to grow in his heart. First he killed Sam. Then he planned everything to destroy us. Because he knew, that the collapse of PT. Jarilangit is the result of our game, especially me. So he concluded that Korp. Masadepan was also responsible for the death of his family. That's why he was so eager to tear down the Korp. Masadepan. That is by thwarting the project of the time machine, by kidnapping Prof. Ram."

"But, it will also bring losses to his own company, PT. Beautiful Flower?" ask Hadni.

"Yes, but he doesn't care anymore. He has lost the spirit of life. After the plan was completed, he planned to kill himself."

Hadni fell silent after that. He shakes in disbelief. Mr. Roy was still shocked by the story I told.

I let out a breath.

"Fortunately we foiled his plan and kept him from committing suicide. He was taken by Jan to the police station. Maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow will be held a trial to judge him." I'm ending the story.
