After Two Decades

After Two Decades
You ...

After the fire broke out, Jan and I jumped down. I'm with an M16 assault rifle in hand, and Jan's got a shotgun. We dove and set foot in the wet sand, creating deep footprints. Then walk slowly and slowly. Stepping carefully through lifeless bodies that are lying in the sand. From there, we headed straight for the forest and large tree areas that grew close to each other.

"Jan, we're not the wrong island, are we?" my many.

"I'm sure you're not, Ren!" answer Jan. "A series of troops that are scattered is proof. They are the black-clothed troops, the same troops that attacked us on Sawu Island earlier. This island must be their home or base."

"Oh yeah, you're right too" I said. "But why does this island look deserted and uninhabited?"

"Don't be fooled, buddy!" said Jan. "Those troops can come charging in from any direction, get your weapons ready!"

I nodded in reverence. Jan was right, the silence of this forest must be just camouflage. The black-clothed troops could have suddenly appeared and gnawed at us from various directions. I stopped taking a short step to look towards the beach, staring at the bodies lying there. Breathe in, then walk on.

Before long, we had already started to enter the forest deeper. Entering an area full of shrubs and various kinds of large wood trees that are lush and dense. We broke through the bushes, blazed a small path. The more we went inside, the atmosphere became shady because the sunlight protected the canopy of branches and tree leaves. Throughout the steps my weapon continued to soar, alert in all directions. Jan was no different, he walked while occasionally turning around to watch the surroundings.

Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr!

Suddenly came a series of shots.

Jan and I reflexed immediately. Roll over and take cover behind a big tree. The gunfire sounded again. Bullets pounded the tree trunk. Baldness makes the bark fall out.

Jan and I sharpened our eyes, figuring out where the shots were coming from. From the whirring of bullets like rain, it looks like a barrage of shots are coming from different directions. We were attacked from two directions, the left and right. The shot roared blindly. A few minutes before Jan and I lay down under the rain of gunfire, the big trees on our left and right were already potholed through my bullets.

I aimed the rifle towards the left. Keep focusing, and pull the trigger.

Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr!

The M16 in my hand barked in the direction I was aiming at even though I saw no one there. So, actually, I just shot just anyone in the direction where the bullet came from. Fortunately, the retaliatory shots from me made the hail of bullets stop. Jan by my side, also started shooting at our opponent in the direction of another one whose form was also invisible.

I started to rise from my slump. Slowly stand up while continuing to strafe my opponents in front there. Seconds by seconds passed with the bullets flickering back. And somehow at what second, the opposing army finally burst out of hiding. I also did not waste the opportunity, immediately took a bold step by going forward to meet the whirring of bullets. The M16 in my hand barked ferociously, strafing the troops with a barrage of bullets. My body was protected by a bulletproof vest, while my opponent up ahead was only dressed in a black suit that was easy to bullet through. So in just a few minutes, the troops were easy to make collapse and fall one by one.

"More!" call friend. "Can you help me?"

I'm turning. It looks like Jan is overwhelmed by the troops in front of him. He had to repeatedly go out in hiding to take turns shooting at opponents and hide from bullets. The muzzle of his barrel shot out a bullet, but his opponent was still a lot ahead there. So no need to think long, I aimed at the line of troops in black suits that faced Jan. It's even more profitable for me because they're too focused on attacking Jan. They were completely unaware I was standing free and was pointing the barrel of a gun at their heads.

Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr!

I pull the trigger, the gun barrel roars spewing hot lead that ripples. I don't care if the direction of my shot shifts, I keep shooting fiercely. In less than a minute, dozens of bullets were already lodged in the army's head, chest, and various limbs. Even they could not be surprised by the arrival of my shot, they fell and collapsed.

Jan comes out of hiding as soon as the opposing force is exhausted without a remnant. I also moved to my best friend.

"What did I say too?" said later. "Some more time they'll be popping up again."

"true." I nodded in reverence.

Dorr! Dorr!

I opened fire as soon as my eyes saw movement between the bushes. There was nothing behind the tall grass. I lowered the weapon, and threw it away. The ammunition in this rifle is over. I don't have any ammunition to fill. Then this weapon is of no use anymore.

"What if we split up?" my many.

"Dissipating? reset Jan.

"Yes" I replied. "I was there, while you were there. We comb this island from the edge, with the goal to the center of the island. I'm sure that's where we're looking!"

I explained to Jan while raising my index finger in several directions. Jan agreed.

"Be careful, buddy!" my spoken. Jan smiled wryly and immediately turned his back to me.

"Good, Ren. Bye bye!" he said while waving his hand. After waving his hand, he ran down that direction. Rushing to disappear behind the lush forests and wild shrubs.

I walked to my opponents myself. Doing the same thing as Jan, taking the guns. I picked up an M16 assault rifle, hoping the bullets inside were still loaded. After checking the weapon, and after looking around, I immediately took a step in the opposite direction to Jan earlier. Soon passed through the forest.

***

My journey in the forest was not smooth and easy. As I had expected before, countless troops in black suits sprung up and suddenly attacked the savage. They are so many. Like a tiger escaping from a nest and scrambling for fresh meat. Armed with assault rifles of various types, dozens of members of the force came rushing at me.

In every wave of attacks, I continued to defend and was able to finish them all off. As usual, when my weapon ammunition runs out, I take out a new weapon belonging to the opponent that has been sprawled. Then, the shootout continued.

For almost hours, I blazed the road and walked through the forest. During that time, the black-clad troops kept coming. Damn, I don't know where they came from. Suddenly it just appeared out of nowhere. Although I tried to walk down from the direction of their appearance, I just continued to be up to the forest area like that - that too. Unfortunately, the waves of their attacks did not stop.

The trees, grass, and all the organisms there are no longer able to live quietly. On each side of the forest was filled with gun eruptions, the whirring of bullets, and explosions and sparks. The forest became a mess. Porak.

I don't know where I've been, but the longer it feels like I'm getting lost. Get lost. And at the end of the trail through the forest, I came out on a beach.

I stood on the shore, staring at the sea and the waves. I'm flabbergasted. This is not the beach where Jan and I arrived, there are no motorboats on the beach. This must be the beach on the other side of the island. It is also a vast island.

I started walking along the coastline. For a few minutes, the atmosphere was very calm throughout my steps. Until finally the troops in black suits came from the direction of the forest. They without a cue immediately stormed with rifles in each hand. Damaging the calm on the beach.

I hurriedly ran along the beach. They're chasing me. In my run I thought and ended up in confusion myself. I thought, this army came from the direction of the forest just on the way I came. While I got to this beach because along the direction of the troops came while in the forest earlier. How did this happen? Where are they hiding?

While I was confused, bullets kept roaring in the back. I ran as fast as I could. I was lazy to throw bullets. So I chose to avoid it first.

However, suddenly the troops chasing me stopped on their own. I stopped and looked towards them. Wondering what happened? It turned out that they had stopped because one of their members had been shot, by gunfire from behind them. Of course they were shocked. Each of the heads immediately turned to find out. However, as soon as the head looked towards the back, powerful bullets immediately pierced through their heads.

Dorr! Dorr! Dorr! Dorr!

Several rapid gunfire, immediately paralyzing all members of the force. Before they could react, each of their heads had already gotten rations. They too are left without rest.

I looked sharply. Who is that guy? Apparently he's not alone. There was one more person beside him. The man was dressed all in white and seemed to be a bit old. The long distance made me not very clearly see their faces. However, considering that person had shot at my opponent and saved me, it meant that he was not a threat. So I did not hesitate to immediately run to the two people.

And how surprised I was when I arrived and saw that person was Jan. My best friend split up at the base of the forest. And I was even more shocked to see the person he was carrying. The man in white clothes was Prof. Ranayuda Ram. The man I've been risking his life for. The man who made me go all the way to this island to save him. Just a few hours ago my best friend and I split up to comb the island and finish off the inhabitants, knowing he had returned to bring Prof. Ranayuda Ram. Not playing with my pleasure.

"Finally, Jan!" I exclaimed with excitement. After a long drive from the city, and took us all the way to a remote island in the East Nusa Tenggara area. Our struggle finally came to fruition. The bright spot is starting to look safe Prof. Ram. Although I still can't believe how Jan did it.

"Prof. Ram's? You all right?" my many.

"I ... I'm good, Ren!" replied the professor. His old face seemed to be wrinkled to bear a mental burden after experiencing a kidnapping like this. I let out a really relieved breath.

"Thank you, Jan! How did you end up doing it?"

"That's it, man!" answer Jan. "I managed to find them, and saved Prof. Ram this."

"Huh?" I reacted spontaneously to the shock.

Suddenly I realized something and suddenly like being struck by lightning. All the joy on my face instantly disappeared. Damn, I cursed in my heart. I just remembered something that made all this go wrong. My face was red instantly.

"You!" I looked at Jan with a sharp look full of emotion. Move quickly and directly attach the end of the gun barrel to his neck.

"You're not Jan!"
