First of all, they will visit Bougenville Hill Park, Singkawang. This park is only six kilometers from downtown Singkawang and takes only 15 minutes, if there are no obstacles.

On Saturday, Herman took his friends on vacation to a cool natural area in the morning at 9. For this time Herman asked Mr. Sanja for permission to lend his office car to take his men for a walk in the Singkawang area. Luckily, Mr. Sanja is a good person. Not much movement for passengers. However, his friends did not mind it because they were all enthusiastic from yesterday wanted to travel to several places in Singkawang, West Kalimantan.

Bougenville Hill Park is open every day from 09.00 to 21.00 WITA. The price of admission to this tourist area is relatively affordable, which is Rp 10,000 per person. And this time Herman was kind enough to pay for the ticket for everyone.

The park has an area of 1.5 hectares. Most of this area is covered with grass and beautified with various ornamental plants with Bougenville being the most dominating plant. There are more than 46 types of Bougenville grown and developed in this park. This park is also designed as natural as possible to bring a cool and beautiful feel. One of the advantages of this park is its very strategic location, located in the valley and overlooking Mount Passi and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Not to forget, there are also tracks for pedestrians so that those of you who like adventure can feel the atmosphere of the forest that presents its own sensation.

In another part there is a pool. Above this pool there is a bridge that cuts the pool with the inscription “Bukit Bougenville” on the side of the bridge. Meanwhile, there is a dragon statue winding at the bottom of the pool with a head that rises above the bridge. When viewed from its snake-like shape, this dragon can certainly be a mythological animal that comes from China. It is not like the form of a dragon that is commonly found in mythology that comes from Europe.

The park is named Bougenville Hill, because there are many Bougenville flowers that grow on the site of the park. Bougenville or also called paper flowers is one of the popular ornamental plants. This plant has a small stem where the direction of growth can not be upright. The main attraction of Bougenville is its flowers that have bright colors.

However, the bright color is not derived from the petals of the flower as in most other types of flowers. The part with an interesting color is the Bougenville flower protective leaf called the flower shed. While the flower of the Bougenville plant is a small flower in the middle of the flower shed.

When Bougenville flowers have bloomed, usually this plant will shed some of its leaves. This feature can be used as a sign that the flowers of the Bougenville plant have bloomed. Meanwhile, when the flowers are in development, eating flowers will be in the form of buds covering the entire part of the flower. Bougenville's flowerbeds look very thin. Therefore this plant is also called a paper flower, to show the shape of a thin flower shed like paper.

The word Bougenville was given by a botanist named Philibert Commercon who participated in an expedition around the world using a ship led by Louis Antoine de Bougainville. The word bougenville is popularly used in Indonesia to refer to paper flowers.

While the leaves look pinnate with some derivatives that have been developed, thus adding to the beauty of the sri windjeki plant.

Fruit plants located in this location are types of fruits that are often sold by traders in Singkawang.
