Apocalypse Monster

Apocalypse Monster
Chapter 184: Dueling with Brianna

His group stops at the border between the U. S. and Canada as the day begins to enter the middle where the sunlight gazes at life beneath. The temperature is very hot, there is even steam coming out of the ground, the trees look dry, there is also burning because of the temperature.

It was not Nathan who asked to stop and rest, but Brianna who wanted a recharge. Replenishment of Natan's affection, where to hug Nagan for half an hour.

Natan could only resign without being able to move in Brianna's arms under everyone's gaze. It was embarrassing, but he could only accept it.

Natan suspects that at least one to two weeks should be like this in order for her mother to let go, and no longer hug her like a child. At first, she liked that pleasant warm feeling, but the longer, she felt it was embarrassing.

Brianna rubbed the head of Natan leaning against her chest. "Hows it? Bigger than Mom or Olivia?"

Natan looked up at her mother, almost half of her face sinking. "Mother, how could Mother ask such a thing to her own son."

Brianna chuckled, then pressed Natan's head against her chest.

Natan could not breathe, she turned her body into a shadow, but she did not appear too far away, only half a meter in front of her mother. "Mother, don't hug too tightly, I'm having trouble breathing."

Brianna smiled and nodded. He opened both hands, then hugged Nathan once more.

...

After half an hour, Brianna let go of Natan, then continued the journey.

The destination of their trip was to Alberta, where it was close to areas of lakes, mountains, forests and marshes.

Natan did not refuse where they were going, as she herself did not know where the monsters her mother said were. Only her mother knew where they were, as her mother often traveled around the Earth.

—Wednesday, 10 December 2025—

Finally arrived in Alberta after occasionally stopping in various places to rest or hunt monsters.

The monsters he fought were quite weak, so it was not too arousing for fighting spirit. Especially Natan, he only needed to release the skeleton, and the monsters could be killed in seconds.

Seeing the bored and uninspired Natan, Brianna gets the idea. "Darling, want to practice with Mom? We can duel with bare hands."

"Duel?" Natan raised next to his eyebrows, then shook his head many times. "No, no, no! How could I hit my beloved mother."

Brianna smiled warmly, rubbing Natan's head. "Mom's happy to hear it, but don't be so confident. With your strength, even if you use one hand, you'll win."

Nathan looked down at his mother. After hesitating, he stood up and went into the open space. "I accept Mom's challenge."

Calista looked at Natan and Brianna who were standing opposite. "They were both very close, not just like mother and son, but like friends, sisters, lovers and best friends."

Vely gave a small nod and sighed, revealing a sad expression. "I've seen him daydream in class, and mutter about his father and mother. Perhaps after being sad for a long time, after meeting his mother again, the darkness in his heart disappeared. His cold attitude was gone, now there was only a warm Nathan."

Olivia pondered for a moment. "But it's nice to have parents like that."

No one disagreed, those who heard him nodded their heads.

"Darling, attack Mother." Brianna pointed at Natan, then pointed to the ground beneath her as a provocation.

Natan took a deep breath, then she acted quickly. He darted like a shadow, stopped a meter in front of his mother and raised his legs, kicking the part of his mother's head with the sole of his foot.

Brianna raised her right hand, catching Natan's kick. "Darling, your kick is too weak, strike stronger."

Natan jumped using his left leg while his right leg was still being captured. He spun left in the air, then kicked his mother's temple with the heel of his left foot.

Natan's left leg was thrown off, but she managed to land and immediately let go of the kick with the heel of her right foot on the other temple.

Brianna waved her hand, hitting Natan's leg with the back of her hand. "It's still too weak, strike stronger."

Nathan landed again and bowed slightly. He raised his hand, hitting his mother's stomach with his full strength.

The wind blew fiercely around his hands like a drill capable of piercing through concrete. This blow was expected to make his mother slightly injured, so that he could boast.

Brianna was still standing in his place without even stepping. He flicked his hand, caught Natan's hand and raised it, making the two of them close together. He looked up at Natan's face up close. "Is this your only strength? If this is all, I'm disappointed."

Natan gritted her teeth and turned her body into a black shadow that arrived behind her mother. He swung his legs vertically down, attacking the top of his head.

Brianna raised her hand, caught Natan's ankle and threw it hard enough towards the trees until it broke some trees in a row.

Natan was buried in the debris of the tree, she coughed several times while standing. Blood was flowing at the corner of his lips, his back was painful, there was a lump on the back of his head and his legs were sprained.

He took a deep breath, then again attacked ferociously. She felt pain, but endured it by biting her lips while attacking her mother.

Faced with multiple attacks, Brianna only used one hand to dispel all punches and kicks. He smiled looking at the excited Natan, but there was a hint of sadness as most of the attacks were directed towards his head.

Natan did not stop attacking, and although he continued to attack while his mother was only holding back, he was still unable to break through her defenses.

"It is rare to see Nathan in such a state." Calista looked at Natan's quick attack until it caused a gust of wind around, the pebble trembled and shattered into dust.

The duel area between Natan and Brianna was already surrounded by dust that billowed up to a dozen meters. The duel was not over yet, it was based on the sound coming from within and the wind was getting louder.

...

A few minutes later, the sound of blows was no longer heard, the wind had already stopped blowing and the dust that was blocking started to fade slowly. When the dust had already disappeared, it was seen that the dueling spot was already filled with cracks and where the two of them exchanged blows, it was already hollowed out with a radius of three meters.

Brianna was still standing in her place, not taking any steps, not getting any injuries, not even any lead on her clothes. On the other hand, Natan was lying on the ground, panting with some wounds on the face, hands and feet.

Brianna crouched down, piercing Natan's cheek with her finger. "Feary already? It's only been ten minutes, how can Mother's son be weak like this. From now on, I will train you for half an hour every day. If you can't hold back in time, I'll punish Natan."

Natan was stunned as she opened her eyes wide. "Mother ..."

Brianna waved her hand, not wanting to hear any excuses or anything that could ease the training period. "It's all for your own good. Didn't Natan want to be strong to protect the others? Then don't laze!"

Natan fell silent without being able to say anything more when it came to that. He nodded small, looking calm, but his heart was crying from having to feel a simple attack from his mother, yet painful.

"Mom will give you time to rest, we'll be leaving soon." Brianna gave a small tap on Natan's forehead, then stood up without helping Natan stand up.

Natan who was left behind, felt a pain in his heart. "Mother! I'm your son! How could you let me get hurt like this without helping?"

Brianna waved her hand without turning her head and walked over to Calista and the others. "Stand alone, from now on, I will be tough until Natan can qualify for the training. After everything is fulfilled, Mother will return as before, to be a loving Mother."

Hearing that, Natan fell silent and was no longer eager to speak. For some reason, he felt regretful about accepting the challenge just now, which not only made him lose shamefully in front of everyone, but also made him get hard training from his mother.

"I trained people before, now I'm trained."
