As soon as he stepped into the gazebo, Arimbi immediately put the two boxes right in front of the Emir with a sweet smile and said, “Emir, this is your gift for today.”
“Alright.” said short.
Nodding the Emir said, “When you go out don't forget to tell Rino to find someone who can be your driver. Don't drive yourself.”
“I know. But actually, my driving ability is not that bad.”
“Oh yes? Who yesterday hit the tree?” the Emir snort glanced at him for a moment.
“I go now.” said Arimbi did not know what to say let alone.
Finally, the Emir really did not allow him to drive himself anymore, so he left with a sullen face.
Only after the woman left did the seated Agha immediately raise his hand to pick up one of the boxes and ask, “Hei Emir, what did sister-in-law give you?”
The Emir recaptured the box from his sister's hand and in a cold voice he replied, “You know this is a gift from your brother-in-law, why are you still touching it? Do you want your hand cut?”
“Aihh. I didn't open it anyway, did I? Come on Emir quickly open the box, I'm curious to see what's in the box.” Agha was curious to know the contents let alone see the reaction of her brother who was very protective of the gift boxes. Never had she seen her brother being this protective before, on one side she was happy.
‘What did Arimbi give my brother that made him smile like that? It's been a long time since I last saw her smile. But this time his smile was much different. It was a happy smile like a child who had just gotten his favorite toy. Is this big brother happy because Arimbi is able to make him happy?’ he murmured in the heart.
To fulfill his brother's request, the Emir opened the boxes and took out two stuffed cows made of wool. The dolls were made by Arimbi himself, then the Emir lifted the two dolls and squeezed them.
Moooo……
“Ah? He really made a sound!” pekik Agha was surprised and curiously he reached out his hand intending to take one of the cows and examine it. But she again pulled her hand back after noticing the sharp gaze from her brother.
“Where did Arimbi buy all this? Besides looking small, they also look so lively like real cows! If only they were a little bigger, we could make them pillows. Wow very good.” said Agha who even felt happy and wanted to have a doll like that. But what power, where maybe her brother will give her one doll.
“Arimbi make it yourself.” replied Emir briefly. Putting the toys on the table, the Emir stroked gently and looked at him with a feeling and smiled with satisfaction. It instantly made Agha look at her in disbelief.
‘This is my sister? She looks so happy just receiving a doll gift from sister-in-law?’
“Emir, you are really in love!” he said expectantly. Without retaliating his gaze the Emir put away the two stuffed cows and answered his sister's remark.
“Does that mean you'll divorce her later?” ask Agha again.
The Emir glared and asked back, “Are you looking forward to my divorce?”
“Do I look like that kind of person? Although I didn't like her too much but my assumptions about her changed after she became my sister-in-law.” Agha replied telling the truth.
“But Emir, I really advise you to teach him a thing or two if you plan to stay with him all your life. Because his current personality may not be appropriate for our family. You understand what I mean?”
His brother's sentence made Emir feel angry because he did not like if there were people who dictate his wife let alone the personality of his wife.
“I'm the one who hung out and slept with him! I don't mind his personality anyway, so what's the matter with all of you? He is not married to the whole Serkan family! She just married me, whether she was a match or not, I decided! He doesn't have to change himself just to please a family member who doesn't like him! Let her be herself all this time she hasn't done anything bad!” emphatically. Then he glanced at his sister who was staring at him.
“What did grandma tell you two earlier? Don't think I didn't know you and Elisha were accompanying Grandma spying on us from afar. Did he say that he wanted to expel Arimbi if I recovered later or something?”
“Emir.....: Agha doesn't know what to answer. He did not continue his sentence and just kept quiet.
In this house, Layla Serkan is the oldest while Emir is the head of the family, They are both people who do not want Agha to disturb. So he decided to avoid that question.
“Your sister-in-law is a growing type of person. He just needs some time, I'm sure he'll impress you all. And even if he fails to do so, it is also not his fault.”
“You are all blind! Whatever happens because I'm married to her, she's my wife. If he doesn't hate me or leave me, I won't give up! Agha, I hope that you as my brother can respect Arimbi as you respect me. She's your sister-in-law anyway. Treat him as you should.”
Agha was stunned to hear the Emir's sentence, he sincerely replied, “Emir! As long as you accept it then he will be my sister-in-law.” said Agha who was relieved because finally the Emir had someone he wanted to protect. And it seems like her brother had no intention of messing around with her marriage to Arimbi.
“But, Emir! Don't you think he's using you? Seeing how big a difference his attitude was compared to before? Or maybe he's trying to get something out of you?” said Agha again.
After a moment of silence, the Emir looked at his sister and said, “No matter what he wants I will give it according to my ability.”
Agha finally did not know what to say. While looking at his sister, the Emir scoffed at himself and said, “Agha! With my situation like this I am not even a match equivalent to Arimbi. She's a very pretty and nice girl, she doesn't pretend to act. You could say that I even dragged her into my life by marrying her.. Who else does my grandmother want to marry me to? Who else can I marry?”
“Emir, you will get well soon.”
Sighing Emir replied, “If grandma really plans to expel Arimbi, it might be better if I just stay like this. That way, even if I am not worth it, grandma will not make it difficult for Arimbi when he finds out that we are married. Instead he might be afraid that Arimbi will leave me.”
