HATE Before LOVE

HATE Before LOVE
Who told you to leave?

Ardan waits for Elif to start telling him his background before he starts applying to the company. Although now obviously the girl began to look upset, but she still managed to master her emotions well.

"I'm the son of an ordinary family, my father recently got a PHK, but we have a small restaurant business that is enough to meet the monthly needs. I have a younger brother who is still in 9th grade. I went to college with a communications major that I got from the scholarship. But not long ago my scholarship was revoked because one of the requirements of the university is that students should not have time off. I was on two semesters off. I went on to work part-time for college. But because my father got sick and it cost us a lot to do surgery, I decided to quit college and focus on work."

"You said you were on college leave until you lost your scholarship. Why?"

"At that time I needed a laptop for college, so I had to leave to be able to work and get a used laptop and also a used bicycle. The bike you threw away." Elif deliberately emphasized the last two words of his speech.

"Then what should I do? Keep it in the museum? I don't know your address, how can I return it."

"You're asking security to give me my bag, why don't you give it to me and explain everything?"

Ardan laughed sarcastically, "For what? You've been yelling at me kidnapper, and then you've just left, and I've had to spend an hour being interrogated at a hospital security post, you think I still care where you live?"

Elif was about to reply, replying to the handsome man before him, but he said again as soon as he realized the man's words had a point.

A successful young CEO, the leader of a giant corporation that houses so many companies from different fields, and, it is very responsible not to leave Elif who was hit but instead accused of kidnappers and interrogated by hospital security officers, certainly not a thing that pleases the man.

"Sorry" the word just slid from Elif's mouth.

Then they were both silent for a moment. No one answered or answered each other. Elif lowered his head, while Ardan looked straight at the girl in front of him. The sweet fragrance coming out of the girl made her calm even though the girl had upset her in some ways.

"I don't think this interview was meant to give me a chance. Right?"

Ardan unmoved. Surprisingly, he did not know what to answer.

"I apologize for the misunderstanding. Sorry for making you uncomfortable. I guess you don't want to see me anymore either. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be interviewed at this great company. Then I beg myself." Elif stood up, bowed his body slightly then prepared to move towards the exit.

"Who told you to go?"

Elif turned around, facing back to the man who was still sitting quietly there, but the look of his eyes glared sharply to the point of making Elif feel a little afraid.

"Sit down!" Ardan gave the order.

The elif said to sit back without refuting.

"You think I'm willing to waste my time just on something like this? You think I'd be willing to waste my time just listening to your background and your apologies?"

Elif silent.

"Do you know how many meetings I have to drop off just to give you a chance to interview me outside of my schedule? If it wasn't for Herdi and Gavin's recommendation, I wouldn't have bothered to take the time." And your scent! Shit, I can't just let go of you fucking sweet scent! Inner Ardan swore.

"Now, give me one reason that allows me to give you the opportunity to work here not because of Herdi and Gavin's recommendations."

Elif's eyes were round, the flat expression that was displayed on his face was slowly changing, a hope appeared in the look of the girl's eyes.

"I won't disappoint my parents." replied Elif steadily without hesitation.

One sec...

Three seconds...

Four seconds...

Five seconds...

There was no response on Ardan, he just silently stared at Elif.

Already, Elif has resigned. He knew there was no way he could be accepted. First because their meeting was preceded by a misunderstanding that made the CEO in front of him upset. And then equipped Elif who also kicked the shin of Ardan's leg, and his educational background did not qualify at all. And now, the man just silently looked at Elif without responding to any of the answers Elif gave.

Stupid Elif! What kind of answer did you give?! You should say that you are a persistent person, quick to learn, can work under pressure, honestly, can work with a team and others who promote your abilities! Elif curses himself. Regretting the answer that determines the decision of the powerful man before him.

Suddenly Ardan moved, he pressed one of the buttons on the phone plane on his desk.

[[Yes sir?] A woman's voice recalls from the loudspeaker of the phone.

"Sonya, come here now!" Ardan gave the order, then immediately disconnected his phone. Shortly after, someone entered the room.

A woman who looks fashionable and but still seems formal, she is the woman that Gavin reprimanded before Elif entered this room.

"Can I help you, sir?" ask the woman.

"Before you relinquish your office, make sure your successor has mastered everything!"

"Good Sir."

Hearing Ardan's words made Elif look like a rainbow in the gray sky. The annoyance that had been present in the man in front of him was now gone. A smile expands on his face under a pair of round eyes that show a twinkle of happiness.

What the fuck! Why is her smile so adorable!

"Thank you Sir!" Said Elif so sincerely.

"Please keep your promise you won't let your parents down, lest I fire you even before Sonya abdicates her position."

"Good Sir."

"Come now!" Ardan shook his hand gesturing for the two women before him to leave his room immediately.

Elif and Sonya quickly move out of Ardan's large, cold workspace. Ardan remained one, he resuscitated his back on the backrest bearing of his large work chair.

"Whatever fragrance the girl wears must have made my brain runny. I can think her smile is adorable!"

Ardan stood up, annoyed, looking out the window.

"We'll see how long you can last working with me, strange girl. Your days won't go easy. And your perfume, damn it! I won't be affected by that scent anymore. I won't!"
