Mona's question certainly made Elif have trouble swallowing a piece of cake that had just entered into her mouth to the point that she had to push it with her roasted milktea ice. But the man next to her laughed with gusto. As Mona questions are comedic questions that provoke audience laughter.
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" ask Ardan then.
"No." Mona answered.
"Yes." Yeah." Yura answered. Mona glared at Yura.
"Elif is not." either." Mona.
"Oh, really?" Ardan looked at Elif while raising both of his eyebrows.
Elif smiled sweetly. Or rather, sweetened. "Yes" he answered.
"You're absolutely right, Mona" Ardan said back to Mona. "Indeed from the beginning, I was fascinated first with your best friend."
"Sir Ardan is fascinated by Elif?" Hearing how Ardan said that he was fascinated by his best friend and looked at Elif with an affectionate gaze, making Yura finally bewitched. Yura is a girl who loves romantic stories.
Suddenly came across a brilliant idea in Elif's brain to prank his boss who lied very straightforwardly and smoothly without a hitch. Elif wants to see if Ardan can still make good free writing.
"Have you been fascinated by me since we first met?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"What fascinates you? As I recall, I was in such a mess and I yelled at you kidnapper. And what did you say then? Hemm.. ah, you said I wasn't your type" Elif said with a big smile on his face.
Mona instantly straightened her body, Yura was also quite surprised to hear that.
"Aye, that's right too." Ardan rubbed Elif's head gently. "But you don't know, back then I was just too proud to show you how much you fascinated me. You're the only woman who spies on me as a kidnapper. So, well, how is it, I'm too proud to show my feelings."
Ah, crap! Not successfully. Why is this guy so good?! It sucks!
"Geez, Brother Ardan, that's so sweet." Praise Yura. Mona turned back to Yura.
"And you know what's sweeter?" Ardan returns to Mona and Yura. "Everything reunites us as superiors and secretaries."
"I always told Mona and Elif that sometimes love does come in unexpected ways" Yura said.
"Frightly so." Ardan nodded.
Elif held back in annoyance.
Mona still refuses to believe the story.
"Until the end I can no longer hold back this feeling. You must know that Elif is a very brave and tough person. He never complains and is always grateful." said Ardan.
Gosh, if only I were, if only that flattery hadn't come out of this shitty, shitty guy's mouth, I would've bounced so high!
"Yes, Elif is indeed our great girl." Praise Yura.
"Therefore I fell in love with him more and more, I have never met a girl like him."
Yura is infatuated with the false story that Ardan reveals with great conviction. While Elif held back the urge to vomit the boss. And Mona's still trying to figure out the lies of what Ardan told her. But so far, Ardan is quite skilled at persuading others.
"I told her that if I fell for her, loving a girl seemed to make my world more meaningful."
"Then, do you immediately believe the statement of Ardan's feelings?" mona asked with great skepticism. Because he still holds true to Elif's story about how his boss named Ardan is the most annoying man in the world.
"Of course not." Ardan answered. Though Elif was going to answer 'yes' just to be quick.
"really?" Mona again asked Elif who responded with a nod. "Then why did you accept Brother Ardan? I'm sure it's not for the money, I know very well you're not that kind of person."
"It's not for the money, is it, baby?" Ardan grinned at Elif which only Elif himself could see the grin on Ardan's handsome face.
"Not, of course." Elif knew very well what the grin meant. Were it not for the need for money, Elif would not be in this position right now.
"Then?" Mona asked. Still with his skepticism. He no longer cared about the status of Ardan who was a great CEO in front of him.
"I. I only realized later that Ardan was very sincere with me" replied Elif. "That's a sincerity I never got from Dimas." Reciprocity.
"Dimas?" Ardan frowned. "Who's limas?"
"The son of Elif who was a jerk and was beaten by Mona to the ground." Yura answered very innocently.
"Are you really beating him up?" Ardan looked at Mona with an astonished look.
"Wow that's great." Ardan was amazed. "Thank you, then, you've beaten up a jerk who hurt my future wife even though I haven't met Elif yet."
"Don't worry, sister, I never hesitate to beat anyone who hurts my friends" Mona said full of emphasis every word.
But Ardan is not his name if he is provoked.
"Maybe I should recruit you to become a personal bodyguard, Elif?"
"Don't be weird!" Tukas Eliph. "You already know that Mona and Yura have their own ideals."
"I'm just kidding, baby." Ardan chuckles.
Suddenly Ardan's phone rang. He left the table to answer his phone call. After Ardan feels far enough away from them, Mona immediately pulls Elif's hand to find the truth from the story she heard.
"Elif, it's not too late if indeed everything he's told is a lie" Mona said in a low voice.
"Eh, what do you mean, Mona?" Yura asked confusedly.
"Did you forget how Elif was the story of his boss who just casually made the rules of work for Elif? You think it could be called a person who falls for a tortured person huh with endless work?"
"It sounds strange, but it could be a way for Kak Ardan to always be close to Elif. You yourself heard, right, Elif did not directly accept Kak Ardan at that time, so well maybe it was Kak Ardan's way to make him always close to him."
"By torturing him?"
"Are you really tormented while working as his secretary?" Yura chose to find the answer to Mona's question by asking Elif who was sitting before them with a very guilty heart. It was very interesting that Elif was honest with Mona and Yura about the play he was doing. But, Elif looked at Ardan who received the call outside the cafe, looking at him through the window while waving his hand.
"Yes" answered Elif.
"I suspected! He must have threatened you!" Mona was about to rise up to approach Ardan of course, and beat him no matter who Ardan was. But Elif and Yura immediately held him back.
"Yes, at first it was very torturing to me" Elif said later. "I don't feel like I have time for your family and you guys. But," Elif racked his brain to create a story that convinced Mona.
"But?" Mona repeated impatiently.
"But the more days Ardan's attitude changed, he was so kind, so sincere, and I was devastated."
"Through reeds?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"So sweet." Yura held her chin with her hands.
"But you're not a person who gets easily crushed by a confession of love just like that" Mona said, not caring about Yura's expression.
"I didn't expect my own change of heart either."
"So do you really love her too?" mona asks one last time as soon as they see Ardan has finished with his phone call and moves towards getting back inside the cafe.
For a while, Elif was very incapable of passing on any of this nonsense. All of these lies were too big and frightening for Elif. Somehow Ardan was even so relaxed throwing out word for word without thinking about how later after this deal ended. Are all the rich who have power like that? Not thinking about how it will be? And a fool with someone else?
But then the shadow of his father who is now in treatment and also recovery from a disease that could take his father's life whenever imagined in the head of Elif. If it wasn't for this deal maybe up until now his father hadn't been operated on.
"Yes, I love her too." replied Elif at the end while crossing her index and middle fingers under the table.
"I'm sorry everyone" said Ardan, sitting next to Elif. "It's nice to have a casual conversation like this. I don't remember the last time I could sit back and have a casual chat with my friends."
"It must be because Brother Ardan is so busy" Yura said with great concern.
"Well that's how it is, but because of Elif, everything changes." Again he was flailing which even made Yura moved.
"But this togetherness has to end, too bad. Elif and I will be back soon because there's a thirty-minute meeting."
"Yes, that's right." Elif.
"I promise, next time, I'll take us all on vacation wherever you want."
Elif. What other game is this?! Didn't he make enough trouble for me with all this lying nonsense? Now he wants to sabotage my friendship what about?
"Is that right, sister?" yura's eyes sparkled.
"of course. Elif's best friend is my best friend too."
Can I throw up now? Elif.
