Elif was more silent after coming home from Ardan's parents. Many questions filled his head that Elif could not get the answer. Like the attitude of Lady Hanna who became so concerned with him, when the first time they met, Lady Hanna always compared Elif with Marsha who left an impression of Elif however would not be comparable to Marsha, but this time it's different. Lady Hanna even blatantly approved of the relationship of Elif and Ardan, had even prepared everything.
Then his decision said that he would soon marry Ardan in front of his father's family instead led him to a new dilemma. He has always avoided pretense, and now he has created the pretense himself. And trapped in it. His parents are now expecting Ardan and Elif's marriage. Ardan's parents had also strongly agreed to their relationship.
But what if they get really married? Can the Elif live it? He no longer hates Ardan, but that does not mean he accepts Ardan and gives his heart to the man he does not love. His heart already belonged to another man even though he knew his heart was just clapping one hand.
Elif let out a rough sigh, crumpled once in his head.
And so is Ardan. He knew very well Elif was still doubting his sincerity. Even though he really loves Elif. Ah, why is it so hard to make Elif see and feel her sincerity. He wanted everything to go slowly, so he decided to be friends with Elif, but who would have guessed Elif instead said they would get married in the near future. Who would have guessed that Madame Hanna had already moved quickly beyond the limit.
Suddenly Teddy pulled over and stopped the car.
"What's Ted?" ask Ardan.
"I'm sorry sir, I don't think this trip can go on" Teddy said.
"Why?" Elif and Ardan asked simultaneously.
"I think Mr. Ardan and Miss Elif must straighten out the first tangle of your mind so that the journey can be resumed safely to the destination." said Teddy quickly then nodded for a while then he got out of the car. Leaving Ardan and Elif looking at each other in disbelief with Teddy's behavior.
"Teddy was the hardest to guess" Ardan said.
"Yes, he can be annoying and then changing can be very annoying." Typhoon Elif.
The two then laughed.
A few seconds later the silence struck the two people in the car. Each does not know where to start straightening out everything that is happening.
Ardan wanted to improve himself by making Elif believe in him. While Elif wants to be apart from the relationship that he believes there is no love in it.
But both are caught up in their own game. Ardan falls in love with Elif when Elif already hates him and doesn't believe him. While Elif who wants to end the charade of their relationship instead tell the world that they will get married in the near future. And now the two families are mutually respecting their relationship. Actually it could be a supporting point for Ardan, but Ardan has promised not to take advantage of the circumstances to get Elif. He wanted them to get married, because it was their hearts that chose to be together. Not because of the circumstances.
"I didn't expect the beginning of our deal to be like this. Although to be honest personally I don't regret it at all." Finally Ardan ended the silence.
"Are you really in love with me?" elif asked skeptically.
"Should I prove you got my heart?"
Instead of answering, Elif laughed.
"What's so funny?"
"I used to have a girlfriend, her name was Dimas, you know, I gave her the exact same question, and your answer turned out to be exactly the same as Dimas' answer. And you know what Dimas did? He just used me, he cheated on me twice, the last time he slept with another woman, Mona finally intervened to beat him all out."
"You liken me to a jerk like that?" asked Ardan in disbelief.
"So, I don't know." Elif turned his face.
"You know, you're not fair to me, Elif." Ardan sounded annoyed.
"You mean?" Elif frowned.
"Stupid guy?" Elif.
"Yes, I know you always reject me, you hate me, you don't want me, you want someone else, but I still express my feelings for you, expressing my love and earnestness, expect someday you'll believe me and my heart will no longer clap one hand."
Elif.
"Then I choose to be friends with you only if that way you can see my heart. I was even so happy when you said we were getting married, even though I knew you didn't mean it, but at least I could always be with you, take care of you, protect you and I wouldn't let anyone hurt you. Whoever it is!"
"Cand..."
"But what? You even liken me to a jerk who betrayed you just because he and I had the same answer? If I answered with a different vocabulary, would you consider me better or worse?"
"I'm..."
"Think carefully, Elif. Do you want to continue with all this or not? If not, I'll find a way to end it all. We've only got less than a month, you know that."
"Then you?"
"I? If you choose to end this, I'll leave, you won't see me again. Maybe I'll delegate all the work to Gavin, and you'll work directly with Gavin."
"But why do you have to go? Aren't.. can we stay friends?"
Ardan snorted, "I'm sorry, but I don't have that big of a heart to see the woman I love with another man."
"And you're gonna make me a secretary to Gavin?"
"Yes. I can't get your heart, but at least you can always be close to the person who has got your heart."
A disappointment was clearly reflected on Ardan's handsome face, and sadness hid behind the spotlight of his joints. Elif had made her so in love, but she did not want to be a selfish man who used various means to obtain an Elif, even though she was able to make an Elif into her full possession.
Because this was her first time, falling in love and loving. He just wants someone in his life to love him, not because of his position, his family background, his social status or the car he drives. But because he is her.
He didn't know if he could feel the same way again in another woman. Because for her who had traveled the world, only Elif was the only woman who had the most sincere, the greatest heart, and the most beautiful eyes.
Ardan ended the talk time Teddy gave. Elif was unable to say anything more. He felt his tongue was muddled, his heart - no matter how - regretted seeing him had made Ardan disappointed like that. It never crossed his mind at all that all this actually made an Ardan disappointed and sad. It was unthinkable to Elif before that all this actually made Ardan hurt. But, shouldn't Elif feel ordinary with what Ardan feels? It all started with the deal the man gave me.
But why, it felt like something was holding Elif's heart, making him uncomfortable, making his heart ache, making his heart feel unwilling. But Elif could not reveal it. He can only be silent.
After getting a missed call from Ardan, Teddy immediately got back in the car. A cold aura filled with the scent of disappointment and sadness instantly crashed onto Teddy.
Ardan turned his face away, and so did Elif. No smiles, no more laughter. Both of them seemed to provide a limit, setting up a shield to protect themselves from greater sadness and disappointment.
Lah, why is it like this? Intentions want to give time to straighten the tangled yarn, but why it becomes even more tangled?
Teddy began to lower the hand brake lever, and slowly he stepped on the gas pedal and the car moved back.
I should have left my phone to record Mr. Ardan and Ms. Elif. Then I don't know what they've been talking about. The huft!
