HATE Before LOVE
Adit's Story about Elif.

Elif was indeed the first child of Zehra as well as Yanuar. In Adit's memory, he never saw his brother make a mistake but he was always cynical and fierce to him, always comparing Elif to Adit without cause, always angry at Elif even though Elif did nothing, always say Elif is unreliable and only a burden. Until one time Elif had told Adit that when Adit was a child, mother once asked Elif to take care of Adit. At that time they were walking in a reservoir. Mother invites Elif and Adit because they can not stand to see Elif who is sad because of diomeli Daddy just because he accidentally spilled a cup of sweet tea. Elif was still in Junior High School.

Finally mom took Elif and Adit for a walk after dad went to the office. When the mother had to buy something in the stalls around the reservoir, Elif asked the mother to take care of Adit for a while, but Adit who was a child at the time was so unruly and still so spirited running on the edge of the reservoir. Adit still remembers how the worried and fearful Elif asked Adit to stop running at the edge of the reservoir until they got to the side that not too many people were on.

Adit was still laughing happily running on a barrier that used to be the edge of people to sit and enjoy a beautiful day. But apparently the day was not as beautiful as most people enjoyed, when Adit was about to turn around he slipped and fell into the reservoir, he said, Elif did not think twice more to plunge himself and save Adit who could not swim. Elif managed to make Adit rise to the edge but Adit cried because his joints were loose in the water, finally Elif returned to the water. Seeing the little boy sitting on the edge of the reservoir with a wet situation and coughing, people began to come and help Elif, Adit who was surprised by how many people were crying.

No one knew that there was one person who was under water, holding one flip with an image of Batman trying to get out of the water but couldn't because his leg was stuck in something in there, he said, I don't know what it is. Until the Elif can't pull himself out. While the people on the surface were busy calming the crying Adit.

Until Zehra comes and hugs Adit, seeing that one of her children is missing, Zehra asks Adit where Elif is, even though people have said they only found Adit alone. But Adit finally pointed at the water with a hiccup, saying his brother was taking his sandals off, but not out yet.

Zehra shouted and one of the crowd jumped down into the water. He is not an adult man, maybe just a teenager with a high posture. The teenager had to up to twice take a breath to the surface and was finally able to carry the body of Elif above the surface of the water in his arms. People immediately helped lift the unconscious Elif, his left hand still holding Adit's batman slippers.

The teenager without much talk immediately did CPR action where people were just noisy to do this and that without really helping. Zehra was already crying while hugging Adit, seeing Elif who was still unconscious despite having been helped by the teenage artificial breath that helped her earlier.

Until finally the teen's efforts were not in vain, Elif coughed, pulled water from his mouth, he realized and instead apologized to Adit for only being able to find the sandal next to him.

But apparently what Elif had done was even considered careless by Yanuar, the father was so angry at Elif that he almost hit him with a broom if Zehra did not hold him back. He thinks Elif has made Adit wretched and almost drowned, although Zehra has explained what really happened, Zehra also tells him that Elif almost lost his life. But Yanuar did not care, he still considered Elif to be teredor and wrong and useless as a child and also as an older brother.

Elif has never received any attention since. I always put Adit first and didn't care about Elif. Never praise Elif when Elif gets achievements in his school. The incident in the reservoir really became the highest point of Yanuar's hatred for Elif until the Elif matured. Yanuar had even said that Elif should never have been in this family because he was an unlucky carrier.

Adit never knew what his father meant, but it was clear that he did not love Elif even before the incident in the reservoir.

Adit rubbed his wet face, thinking he would be very sentimental about telling bitter memories in the reservoir back then. If only he hadn't run around and listened to his brother to stop, maybe I wouldn't have hated Elif for years like this.

"Ted, I want all the details of what their father's problem is with Elif, Adit said, before the incident at the reservoir, their father had always been cynical and fierce to Elif. I wonder what caused it."

Without feeling and chatting with Adit makes Ardan forget time. It feels good that someone calls him Brother and can talk like a brother and sister. During this time Ardan was alone, there was no sister nor brother. Meeting Adit and immediately considered Brother on the first day they met really something for Ardan.

And until Ardan went out of the house even Elif kept locked himself in the room, he did not come out of his room at all.

"Abang really not fighting with Sister Elif?"

"No. Your sister's just in a bad mood. Just make sure later, Elif will still eat."

All the way to the apartment, Ardan's brain stopped thinking about Elif. What he has been going through all this time must not be easy.
