After Raiden drove Quinn home, the girl did not rest or stop for a moment to eat something. What he was aiming for was a library and preparing fifty pieces of paper along with a pen. "Where should I start?" the girl rubbed her chin while thinking.
Quinn began to record the people he remembered from his past, of course Quinn will sort out anyone who will be useful to him. While writing, Quinn thought about who she wanted to join her after helping Oddeth. "That means next I need a microbiologist to help me produce in the factory. Then, after that I also had to go to aunt Kennedy. The house is a little far from here, but it doesn't matter."
Bastien who peeked at her from the opening of the library door closed his mouth. "Hm, he's very active in learning. I think he really wants to start a new life" she said in her heart. The man smiled to make the wrinkles around his cheeks and eyes appear clearer. "He's big" he said proudly.
"Maybe I can help her a little."
"Your Majesty, sorry to interrupt your time. There was actually something I wanted to say." a servant came to prevent Bastien from entering the library.
The middle-aged man raised one eyebrow, "Why do you look so confused? what's the problem?" he asked after seeing his servant seem unable to handle anything in his palace. "There's someone coming. He said he wanted to see you to discuss something important."
"Huh?"
Bastien meets guests who are welcome to wait in the living room. The old man tried to remember the face of his guest "I'm like I've seen you somewhere."
"Yes, that's right, Your Highness the Grand Duke. My name is Finn Han Blackbird. I was working for Count Shuvillian as a history teacher for Lady Quinn." The friendly-faced young man smiled widely to lower the pressure he felt.
Though Bastien is a person who is relaxed and not stiff. He nodded his head, "So, what's wrong with you coming here, son?" Bastien still took the time to serve his guests well even though he knew it did not appear that the young man had serious or business-related problems.
Finn put on the saddest look he ever made, "Your Majesty, I've honestly been fired because Lady Quinn suddenly asked me not to teach her anymore, she just threw me away. And the worse part is, I lost my job."
Bastien scratched his temple, "So, what's the problem? you can teach for the la— family's children"
"Sir Finn? what are you doing here?!"
Quinn was out of ink, she wanted to ask the waiter to get her again but there was no one she could meet in front of the library. Forced Quinn to stop writing and look for ink on her own.
Quinn did not expect Finn to come to the Lombard court and come face to face with his grandfather. The girl's premonition turned out to be less than good.
Quinn came to the sofa and glared at Finn. "Grandfather, I'd like to ask grandfather for help. I don't understand how long-term management is good for a seasonal business."
Bastien gawked at Quinn's heavy-handed question that he had never discussed at all. "O-oh can sa—"
Finn kicked the table slowly, wiping the corner of his eye. Pretending to cry in front of Bastien is a powerful way to silence Quinn. "Your Majesty, I can't teach anymore because the Lady has vilified me so that no noble family will ever hire me."
Quinn pleaded not to accept the allegations given by Finn. "Hey, it's still light. Why are you hanging out in this guy's house? do you really have manners?"
Finn scowled at Quinn's remark, "Your Majesty, you must take responsibility. You know how poor I am, so the work that really earns for me is just as a teacher. But you made me lose my source of income. Don't you think this is hurting my side so much?"
"I didn't do anything to you. How dare you slander me."
Finn pretended to be sad worse than before. "I know you hate me, but then how do I support my family? think about it, Lady."
Bastien watched the debate between the two men without understanding where the plot leads.
"Your ass must be jealous of all this crap coming out of your mouth, Finn." who's accused of losing someone else's job. Quinn retorted with a scathing speech that Bastien and Finn never imagined would come out of her sweet lips. The innocent and innocent girl had vanished completely while arguing with Finn.
"W-what did he just say?" Bastien was shaken to hear his grandson's rude remark. During this time Quinn grew into a jolly girl who was meek, instantly her tongue turned as sharp as a sword eye. "My dear granddaughter..."
"You must take responsibility, Lady. You've been harassing me until my name goes bad. I have twelve sisters that I still need to charge."
Quinn's nose furrowed, she cast a sharp glare at the ugly acting of the blindfolded young man. "Don't make me sound like a cruel human being. I didn't do anything to you."
Bastien held his head and chest in turns. "Already, already, let's discuss it in a family way. Mr. Finn, sit down. You seem to have a lot of protests that my grandson has never heard of."
Bastien asked Quinn to sit next to him. "Tell me what your purpose is to come here and meet me. Don't tell me you just want to file a complaint with my granddaughter."
"I'd like to work for you, Your Highness the Grand Duke."
Quinn clasped his grandfather's hand while shaking weakly, asking the old man not to accept Finn as one of his workers. Bastien then observed Finn up to the bottom as if figuring out for himself what abilities and qualifications he had until he dared to ask for a job directly to him.
"You're good at swordplay?"
Quinn was shocked.
The amber-sliced youth narrowed as the width of the smile he showed. "I've guessed the Grand Duke is a very extraordinary person. You have a keen eye for judging someone." Finn pointed to himself with a thumb, "I can show my sword skills right now. May I ask one of your Knights to duel?"
"Hoo. I don't hate people like you."
"Grandfather?" wasn't Bastien's nod a sign of agreeing with Quinn's wishes? so what makes Bastien want to test and give the young liar a chance? the girl also glanced at Finn who was engrossed in frown while chatting with his grandfather. "It was just a sneeze here when he had just dropped my reputation." Quinn's mind was dongkol.
"Go to the field first."
"Okay, Your Majesty."
"Wait." Finn paused his enthusiasm and looked at the Grand Duke-ranked noble in confusion, "Is there something he wants to talk about again, Your Majesty?"
"I'm sure you're well aware that what you've told my granddaughter is all a lie. Don't you feel the need to apologize to him? you're hurting my gentle grandson's heart." Bastien smiled warmly but he then lifted the knife from the fruit plate. He attached a knife to the corner of his right lip while demonstrating a slashing motion. "If you don't want your mouth torn or your heart hollow, you better beg forgiveness from my grandson properly" he said with threats.
"...." - ".Quinn had no intention of answering. As a result Bastien was the one who represented, "Then we don't need to prolong the problem anymore. Go prepare. I'll catch up."
"Thank you, you are very generous, Your Majesty. Then, I'm allowed to go first." Finn walked while occasionally jumping lightly towards the field guided by a Butler. "Sad. He's really shameless. You liar." Quinn swore in his heart.
"My dear granddaughter, I need to prove her worth. I don't need it if he's just good at teaching because you don't need it anymore."
Bastien's hand moved patting the top of Quinn's head gently. "I'll help you later, yeah."
"Grandfather. I want to see it."
"Oh really? let's just, let's go."
Quinn could not think of anything good when he saw Finn deliberately coming and wanted to be one of Bastien's people. What exactly does he want to do?
Quinn remembers very well that Finn is a person who really dislikes being tied to something like work. Suddenly he chose himself to work in the Lombard court. Quinn already knows that Finn is Killian's teacher of choice as well as a spy who will continue to report on Quinn's activities.
"Did Killian tell her to work here so she could keep spying on me?" the question arises when Finn often steals a glance at him while smiling obliquely as he prepares to duel with one of Bastien's Conferred Knights.
Quinn looked from one corner to the other at each inch of Bastien's training ground. He remembered his past. Despite only training for three months, Quinn had learned the basics of swordsmanship and was quite proficient because Raiden helped him and it made Quinn more eager to study directly at the future King.
The poignant taste that accompanied Quinn at this time, for some reason just re-ignited the spirit of learning to sword. To be sturdy, Quinn not only had enough to cultivate treasures and stabilize the standing, she also needed martial skills to be able to fight a cunning enemy that had many ways to destroy them.
Quinn's iris was rounded as Finn's mouth moved whispering something from afar. When viewed from the movement of his mouth, the man was like saying 'watch me'.
As far as Quinn is concerned, Finn is just a traveler who keeps moving from place to place. There was nothing Finn showed but being smart about observing the situation and controlling the atmosphere around him.
The thought was instantly denied once Quinn with her own eyes saw Finn's meticulousness in finding a crack and surviving the swift attack of Knight Bastien. The landing motion of his legs was always steady and the strength of his arms was already like those who had always trained his muscle strength. One of the Knight representatives from Bastien's stronghold was slightly staggered as Finn was eyeing the waist.
Finn didn't even give a pause for him justifying the foothold. He launched an attack as soon as the Knight pointed out a large gap, "If I win, can you give me your position?"
"uh? I'm sorry, I don't intend to give up!"
Bastien is stunned to see his nimble Finn moves and he is able to keep up with his trained Knights. "Well, he's pretty good too." muttered Bastien still staring fixedly at the fierce fight.
"Oh yes, right too. He couldn't have been of wandering origin if he wasn't good at martial arts. It was certain that he would often meet bandits or such during the journey." thought the petite sweet girl.
The duel lasted up to an hour and the final result was a series. The spectators other than Quinn and Bastien gave a standing ovation to both of them. The other soldiers seemed amused at the sight of their very interesting fight for further scrutiny.
"Since when has Finn practiced swordsmanship? Finn never borrowed a field or a tool in the Shuvillian mansion."
Bastien applauded. "You two are great too. I am amused by this fight. It feels like I haven't seen Felix this enthusiastic in a duel for a long time" he praised while giving help in the form of a helping hand to two men of that age.
"Your Majesty, am I acceptable here?"
"Hahaha you're very impatient huh. Why do you want me to answer immediately, eh?" Bastien is unceasingly taken aback by Finn's attitude. He is one of a handful of unique humans who are very interesting to keep an eye on his development.
"If you will accept me, I want to become stronger so that I can become a knight who can protect Lady Quinn."
"What?" Bastien and Quinn both gave the same startled reaction. "So your goal is to be my grandson's personal knight? after all the slander you've been pointing at him? I can't read whether you're serious or not."
Finn showed her ambiguous smile. "I never want to be attached to anything or anyone. But Lady Quinn made me throw away the principles of my life all this time. So that's what made me want to develop this martial ability just to protect Lady Quinn from distress."
"..." - ".Bastien cannot just make a decision when it comes to family members. He wants to buy time until all the information about Finn's background. "I'll give you the answer tomorrow. Go home. I have business with my grandson."
"But, Your Majesty..."
"I will not hear your plea for the third time. Go." said the seventy-year-old man, turning around and taking Savero's eldest son away, "Let's Quinn, I'll help you with this."
"Good, grandpa." Before they actually got out of the field, Quinn took the time to make sure of Finn. The man still smiled as usual and waved his hand at Quinn.
What is he planning? I have trouble guessing.
Bastien asked Butler to take a new ink bottle immediately after finding out his grandson had trouble continuing his activities. "They are sometimes less sensitive. Sorry, Quinn."
"What's wrong, grandpa. It's not a project that has deadlines." even though there are.
"So, what do you want to ask?"
Bastien picked up one of the books stacked by Quinn on the table. Quinn did not like to read books on heavy topics. He was impressed by the drastic changes of his grandson.
"Grandfather, where can I get good quality rosemary seeds? actually I've been asking for my share of land from Dad this afternoon."
Bastien widened in wonder. "Why did you ask for it so soon?"
"I just want to garden~. Oh right, does grandpa know someone who's an expert at concocting drugs?" Bastien blinked his eyes and began to remember and only one person appeared in his mind. "I only know one and he works in the Ethereal palace for the royal family."
"Name, if not wrong..." Quinn began to look at his newly finished personal notebooks. At least he has recorded some people affected by the disaster in his past. "Mr Gray Morrison?"
