"You're like a child." - ketus Quinn who was not interested in having a pleasant conversation. Finn snorted miserably, he ruffled his waist as he said, "Hey, I've been going around Helldelune to do missions from you, dear Lady Quinn. I didn't take a break though so you could get an answer quickly."
Quinn frowned at the base of his nose, "Your image as a history teacher is completely gone in my eyes."
"I've been beating the steering wheel now, it doesn't matter if I don't look as authoritative as a teacher anymore."
Quinn smiled sarcastically. "Heh. You didn't look like that in the first place, so take it easy" he said, shaking his head in surprise.
"As usual, your mouth is very sharp."i
"Not sharp. I just don't like having fun with you."
Then Finn took out the emblems they found attached to each assassin's cloak. Quinn hasn't told Finn that the one who hired them is Penelope. "This is the emblem of a Blackrose Guild."
"Guildis?"
"A kind of organization that performs its activities secretly. They can be illegal information bureaus, provide services like these hitmen, and hire other services that you might not want to dirty your hands to complete a 'mission'."
Quinn was surprised, he only found out there was such an organization in Helldelune. "How could he find such a place?" quinn's murmur was caught by Finn's sense of hearing. The young man then said, "His name is illegal, they must be doing business secretly. You wouldn't find their Guild if you didn't know what kind of guise they were wearing to cover their real work."
Finn smiled haughtily, "Now, I know all about them. You're curious no? if curious, quickly ask." he said half forcefully.
"Tck. You're such a bitch. Where are they hiding?" Quinn asked the question lazily. Yeah, because he was told to.
Finn puffed out a proud chest. "They've been hiding out in the post office business for a long time." actually he's not a typical person. Finn was just happy to see Quinn's diverse expression, for the sake of seeing that Finn occasionally acted silly.
Quinn looked in shock. "That post office?" Quinn was still dumbfounded at his making.
"Well, how many post offices are there?" Finn supported himself on the balcony pole and looked at the dark gray sky. "If you think about it, it's a perfect cover. No one is as suspicious as he is sending illegal documents to clients. At most they will only be seen working diligently. There are only a handful of people who know about their original work" Finn explained briefly.
"I'm sure those who know it are the nobility."
"You're right. Those who are touted as nobles and elites are indeed full of intrigue. I don't know what it's good to live with treasure but every day it feels like war."
Quinn was busy with her own thoughts. In his previous life Quinn was completely unaware that there was such an illegal information bureau in the country. His mind is too plain. "So, can we ask him information from all over the country?"
Finn chuckled while nodding. "They have agents in every town. So it's not impossible for them to be informed about someone in this Ethereal." The amber-mannered young man glanced at the black-spirited girl next to him. "Why do you want to ask about who?"
"My uncle."
"Oh, Viscount Marchetti?" Quinn looked at the former teacher flatly, he had expected that a little Finn would know about some nobles scattered in the four cities. "You were a traveler before settling in your hometown. Didn't you hear anything about him?" ask Quinn.
"You know, he's a dreary man than your father."
Quinn fused his eyebrows together, "That's not what I want to hear."
"Well, fine, I get it." Finn snorted softly while massaging his heavy nape. He then continued saying, "I've heard some bad news about the Viscount. Some say that he is very temperamental and likes to beat the people of his house, even the house Viscount often change workers because no one is comfortable working with him."
"..."
The last time Quinn saw Vincent was when he was twelve. He seemed to have lost a great purpose in life for whatever reason.
"Oh and one more. I heard he's running a dangerous business. 'Dangerous' I mean something that can destroy itself."
I don't need to question Penelope about this, I can hire the services of that Guild.
Quinn turned around, walked into the room. "Lady, you'd better treat Lady Penelope more attentively and affectionately." hearing Finn's words that were very stuck in his ears and heart made Quinn's steps stop.
With a sharp glint Quinn retorted, "Why should I? killian did it. I'm not a casual person who has the task of giving mental support to every member of the family." the cold answer that came out of Quinn's mouth did not make Finn able to close his gaping mouth.
"Pardon me. I didn't know you were gonna be that angry."
She ran away from her condition, seeking the safest position by becoming Queen, but she made me the one who knew nothing to become a victim. I had to lose my life because of his selfishness and ambition!
"My condition is no better than Penelope's." Her brownish-golden blue iris shone brighter outside the room without that light. "If you knew what was really going on, you probably wouldn't dare say that to me, Finn." Quinn commented on the nanar smile that was able to make the young wearer of one eye lid feel guilty.
"I'm sorry about that" he said sincerely. "For the city of Nepheli that you asked before about your mother, I remember the place."
"Where?"
"It's a little village called Pixie. The most desolate village whose inhabitants did not reach twenty family heads, they did live on the lips of the forest. But Pixie Village cannot be entered by outsiders."
Quinn approached Finn "Why is that?"
"There was a witch who guarded the village as well as the forest. It seems like the forest is very sacred even the palace can't do anything about the forest." Finn tilted his head at Quinn's flat face, "You want to go there?" ask her curious.
"not now. I'll find an inconspicuous way." Quinn must set up a plan so that Raiden doesn't stop him from coming to Nefeli.
"Hahaha I just remembered, I just heard some pretty flashy news. You're starting to get rumored insane by some people, like making up lies about bandit attacks to get the Prince's attention. You have no problem making bad rumors for yourself? you're too reckless. It's hard to clear names, you know."
"I need to have an idea of Raiden's purpose."
"Isn't it clear he wants to be the strongest in history?" Quinn nodded in understanding, he also had the same opinion, but there was still a huge hole in his theory.
"I know that. But it has nothing to do with me, don't you think so? what does it have to do with being the strongest by holding me back? he must have kept me for one other purpose and I don't know what he's after."
Finn has trouble putting words together. Quinn's thoughts were already out of reach for him if he didn't try harder to think of a branch of every action Quinn took as a first step.
"You're right. He never inaugurated his position as King, if all he wanted was just a peak it was strange."
"Yes, right? he was aiming for something bigger before patenting his position as the Ethereal King and that goal concerned me."
Why did he kill me in the past? no, Raiden is very cunning. Where could he have been easily incited with the lies of Penelope who pretended to be poisoned. He also got me accused of poisoning the King.
Tests..
Finn rounded his eyes. He hurriedly wiped Quinn's nose with his sleeves, "You're a nosebleed. You all right? you better take a break for a second." Quinn only realized that his nose was bleeding after Finn wiped the dripping part of his upper lip. "Not to force yourself. Come inside."
"I'll go now." Quinn held back the personal Knight's wrist. Finn frowned confusedly, "Jam nine tonight, wait for me downstairs. I'm going to the post office."
"Tonight as well? hey, you're in too much of a hurry."
Finn scratched the back of his head while sighing resignedly. "You're changing as if you've just experienced death."
"Don't joke. I'm just learning to be responsible for myself."
"So, you don't intend to keep an eye on the Grand Duke?" Quinn shook his head while grinning, "No need. I've changed his name."
"Then don't you just enjoy one by one the Prince's spies up there?"
"I didn't get rid of everything, really." Quinn gave a laugh, he was already anticipating Raiden's next move. "If I get them all out, Raiden will soon find out that I've replaced the data you wrote. So I took out half of it."
In total there are ten Raiden spies here, including Evan and Emily. Quinn got rid of only four others, Carter himself had also been eliminated, so there were a total of five people who came out. The rest Quinn will keep. In addition to making Raiden suspicious of her, Quinn needs Emily to be a double spy and report everything Raiden orders to his subordinates at the Lombard court.
"Haha, Evan would definitely think the four people were chosen by chance."
"You, since when are you good at keeping up with the Crown Prince's cheating?"
"Either. Maybe because I know him well."
Quinn immediately closed the long window to the balcony as soon as her chat with Finn was over. The girl's eyes swept through the room looking for where roughly Evan placed the gift of a pin from Raiden. "Oh, at the dresser." she muttered after seeing a small box with blue ribbons.
There is a bright emerald stone pendant necklace, small in size and fitting as a beautifier of the gold necklace. "Wait a minute." after a close look, Quinn could see a flash of light in her necklace.
Pats!
Quinn was surprised because suddenly the light grew bigger and made the entire emerald stone glow brightly. "What the fuck? this necklace is terrible."
Quinn put the necklace in again and put it in the drawer, reluctant to wear it. "What did Raiden mean to send such a stone?" I don't know who it was.
The petite girl lay herself on her soft bed, daydreaming at the ceiling of the room overhead. "I'm showing a big difference to Finn. He was sharp as well to the point of being able to think of the right opinion so."
Quinn sat down, "How can I talk to Zacchaeus again? I need a lot of explanation from him. I don't have any contract marks on my body."
Long story short, when Quinn was wearing a robe, someone came knocking three times with a soft door to the room of his favorite grandson Bastien Lombardia. "Come in."
Emily, the servant girl who had been caught stealing Quinn's jewelry. He did not dare to look at Quinn and just bowed down, even entering he did not dare.
"Welcome, Emily~" said Quinn softly. Emily's fear was obvious, "Come in, not at the door. You're gonna make other people suspicious."
Emily hurriedly bowed deeply to show her gratitude. "Thank you for saving me from the sacking of the Grand Duke, Your Majesty. From now on I'll work well for you."
"Um, yeah. I'll look forward to that."
Emily just got the confidence to lift her face. "Your Majesty, where are you going?" her question was confused to see Quinn's appearance as if she was about to go far.
Quinn approached Emily and patted her shoulders "This is your first assignment. Disguise me as long as I'm outside."
"Eh?"
Quinn dragged Emily to sit in the front seat of the dresser. She in a lightning-fast motion dressed Emily as closely as she could, dressing the maid in a nightgown. Don't forget he put on a wig to perfect his camouflage. "I won't be long. Just give me an hour. I'll be back in time."
Emily's holding Quinn's wrist, "T-but, Your Honor... The Grand Duke and the butler will probably come check on you. I could be in danger." his two eyes glazed over at how dangerous this action was for his life.
"Ssttt, just do as I say." Quinn put on the hood of the robe while patting Emily's shoulder twice, "Just act as you can. If you succeed, I'll give you a bonus."
Emily was just left there. The seventeen-year-old girl fell on the floor because her legs were not strong enough to support her own weight. "W-how is this? if His Majesty Quinn comes home late, it's out of my history." his voice shakes in response to the adrenaline felt by his body.
Quinn exits through the balcony with the help of Finn, his companion's Knight. Both of them moved quickly to find a shortcut to avoid being caught by the guards. Quinn felt even greater excitement while performing actions like this. "Hey, we're not having fun. Watch your steps, Lady." Finn said.
"Yes, I know."
Fortunately the distance between the post office and the Lombard court was not so far away, they both ordered a horse carriage to shorten the time.
Quinn knitted his brows when he got to the front. "They're closed. Now what should we do?" Finn shook his head in astonishment at Quinn's ignorance of the workings of the illegal information bureau. "Of course because the office hours are closed. We don't need their mail service."
Finn unceasingly held Quinn's hand to the back of the office building. "Where are you going?"
"Follow it out."
Finn knocked on the back door of the office. There was a knock back from inside the building, Finn then approached the door. I don't know what the tall young man whispered, suddenly the door opened and showed a girl of Finn's age. He smiled so kindly, "Let's go in. We'll direct you to the chairman."
"Thank you."
They were led in and climbed the second floor. The shape and layout of the building was different from the usual post office. "Did they split the two buildings for their two different professions?" quinn thought it was fun to highlight one corner of the room.
"Well, it's here."
The young girl knocked on the door. "Chairman, there's a customer coming."
"Yes, yes, come in." said the voice of the man from within.
Quinn was not visiting a famous big man, but for no apparent reason her heart was beating from nervousness.
"Please come in, may you be satisfied with our service."
Upon entering the room, they were greeted by the pungent aroma of cigarette smoke. The room was exactly like the work space of the nobles, clean, neat, and more luxurious than the outside. Maybe because it was a room belonging to the bureau leader. There were three shelves of files wrapped in large envelopes, showing that the documents were all very important.
Finn went in first to ensure indoor safety. The long-haired man was surprised to see the face of someone he knew appear before him. "Hahaha, Finn, is that you? you seem to know my side job?"
Finn snorted softly, "This is your main job, Rupert."
"so. I didn't expect you to come here." Rupert tilted his head to look at the person who was covered by Finn's body. "Oh, you didn't come alone? who's with you?"
Quinn took off the hood of her robe, then she smiled sweetly as a warm greeting. "Good night, Mr. Rupert."
The apple-red pupils of the long-haired man shrank. "L-Lady Shuvillian?" he mumbled in disbelief.
"Yes, it's me." Quinn advanced towards the table where Rupert was relaxing while smoking there. "Can you work fast? I don't have much time left."
Rupert's grin widened. He becomes interested in interacting directly with the girl he doesn't like. "Yes, come. Please sit~ I will help you with all my heart."
