"Little bit. I'm here to find information on Vincent Van Marchetti's business."
Rupert was unceasingly smiling. Her heart was flowery, dealing with an unwelcome person made her excited and eager to look for an opportunity to ruin the mood of the sweet girl who became her client tonight. "I didn't know what my dream was last night until the arrival of an unexpected person. And Viscount Marchetti, isn't he your own uncle? why don't you ask her daughter directly?"
Quinn looked calm despite being attacked by unqualified questions. "Should I explain everything to a stranger I would only meet once? my time is very limited, please just speed it up. I'll add the money." Quinn unhesitatingly laid down two bags full of gold coins. Spending that much money is not difficult since his painting business achieved quick success.
Rupert chuckled amusedly, "You're very attractive." The young man with the face of the sangar stood up to one of the cabinets and took the file without the need to read, as if he had been very familiar with the layout of each document he had.
"Do you want me to read it or do you read it yourself?"
Quinn took out a large envelope containing more than a feather of paper. All contain complete data to the family tree, even the name Quinn is also listed there. "Viscount has a business together with three other nobles?" quinn asked as she read the data which she thought was a little suspicious.
"Yes. He teamed up with Marquess Benedetti and Countess Herrera to build a charity house. In other words, the three of them built an orphanage house, managed it together, and housed poor children who had no place to live there" Rupert explained. He looked at Quinn's serious expression. Who would have thought that such a cheerful and innocent famous girl would be able to put on such a stiff expression. "Something that makes you wonder?"
"Here written every three months there will be twenty children who come out and get a new family. It was a bit strange, the number of them coming out remained the same." Quinn lifted her face and read Rupert's face as if he knew what was inside Quinn's brain. "The three of them.. Do human trafficking?" hesitated.
Vincent never set foot into Helldelune again after his gold business went bankrupt. "Here he had a big role in the war decades ago. What role is meant?" quinn asked curiously.
"He helped supply food to the soldiers of course."
Finn raised one eyebrow. "Hey, there's something you're not explaining. Some parts of the city, especially small villages, were starving because many food supplies were halted during the war."
Quinn turned to his left side, "You mean there was embezzlement of funds as well while the war was going on?" ask Finn.
"Ah, for that I'm not sure."
"Yes, it could be that some nobles who are tasked with channeling funds and food aid are doing misappropriation" Rupert added.
"Mr Rupert, you have more detailed data than this?"
"Sorry, serious matters such as the search and collection of evidence on dark cases should be looked for first. It took three days or maybe more."
Quinn replied with a light nod.
"But, Lady Shuvillian. Aren't you thinking about how Lady Penelope will feel? his life will also be ruined if you take care of his father's problems." Rupert rested his chin while putting on a slanted smile, his interest in Quinn sped up.
Beyond Rupert's expectations, Quinn seems unconcerned about the fate of her cousin's sister. "Do I have to feel sorry for him while he himself sends assassins to kill me?"
Finn looked surprised, "Eh?" the young man blinked a few times quickly, trying to process in the brain the conversation between the two gendered humans.
Rupert lost his smile. He looks so shocked. A minute into silence, he finally reacted with a very loud laugh until it felt like Rupert's voice echoed inside the room. "Hahahahaha, you realize it very quickly. That's grand. I think you are a very affectionate girl like a goddess who will love anyone no matter how people treat you" Rupert half scoffed.
He tried to kill me twice and has done it once in the past. Who wants to keep giving up that?
"My judgment of you has changed greatly."
Quinn replied to Rupert's sneer, "That means you just like to consume rumors without knowing the truth."
"Hahaha, yes, that's true. I've learned." Now."
Quinn took out another bag of money and put it on the table.
Finn who saw it so confused, he touched Quinn's arm "Lady, why did you add the total again?" the young man's question was intentionally ignored. Now Quinn stared straight at Rupert's apple-red eyes. "Do you know why Pixie Village in Nefeli is guarded by a witch? I heard he was stationed there just to keep the village and the forest."
Rupert confirmed his sitting position to be firm, he leaned on the back of the chair, and stared at his interlocutor sharply. "Circumcised? Ah, that means you belong to the human class who did not read the history of the Ethereal Kingdom as a whole."
Finn scowled not like the election, said Rupert who seemed cynical. "Hey, speak a little softly. You're not polite."
"Ups, sorry." Rupert replied in earnest.
"That's why I asked. Can you explain what the reason behind the forest guard is?" quinn asked interrupted the conversation between the two men.
"All right, I'll explain."
The Ethereal Country did not just stand firm with the power of the King and his descendants alone. They were balanced with the strength of the protective spirits that guarded the prosperity of the land and natural resources in this Ethereal Kingdom. Both are likened to scales that are parallel or equal in weight.
The king and the spirit god worked together to maintain the internal balance of the country and create a situation where the living beings could live in safety and peace. The government that acts and the spirits that support from behind.
Simply put, the King and the Spirit God build a kingdom together, the King who becomes the character and the spirit God who provides the stage.
That said, the King and the Spirit God had met each other and made a pact that both of them would carry out their respective part duties well. Spirit gods believe that the King and his descendants can wisely guard this country because before the Kingdom was built, this island was the residence of spirit spirits. They entrusted some of their residential areas to the King to be used as human habitation.
From the meeting, the King got sacred objects that were then placed in the temple to be glorified and cared for properly. Those things contained the power of the spirits that were useful as protectors of the Ethereal Kingdom.
One request from the Spirit God, that no human being should disturb the Pixie forest because that is the only strongest source of spirit power, there is also their residence. The Picie Forest is the heart. Therefore, the King sent the strongest magician to guard Pixie forest. And it went on all the way to the descendants of the present King.
Actually the highest position is not owned by the King, but by spirit spirits who were originally the original owners of the kingdom. However, the spirit god had asked to be kept secret all about them so that the lives of his people would not be disturbed. If anyone dared to violate, the Spirit God himself had sworn to drown this land because he was the one controlling the entire Ethereal realm.
That was the reason behind the absence of history about the cooperation between the King and the Spirit God in the history books scattered in Ethereal. Of course the palace still holds the treaty and also its complete history.
So far who know the complete history of the formation of the kingdom of Ethereal only the palace (core family) and the temple (the great priests) who became the guardians of heirloom objects entrusted by the spirit God.
Quinn has trouble regulating breathing. His body was boiling, his heart ached as it pounded. "Lady, are you okay?" Finn looked worried as Quinn squeezed his chest.
So, Raiden knows about me having a relationship with spirit?
Quinn covered her mouth with a palm as she did not stop gaping in shock.
My mother is from Pixie Village and a ranger. Is it possible that my mother gained the power of the spirit spirits in return for her duty of guarding the forest?
Rupert shrugged both shoulders lightly. "I've never thought about it, but as far as I know it could happen. Depending on the spirit, whether it wants to or not. Besides I don't know anymore because I'm not a magician who knows the concept of power or anything like that."
Raiden keeping me by his side is because he realized I have spirit power in my body.
Both of Quinn's hands moved to squeeze her skirt until it became very tangled.
Those ambitious eyes he saw me as satisfied with his success opened the first path to his big dream when he knew there was something else with my eyes.
Rupert and Finn exchanged lyrics when they saw Quinn smiling broadly with triumphant eyes. "Hahahahaha, amazing. This was truly incredible news." Quinn's laughter that already resembled a cunning and manipulative villain left the two men dumbstruck clueless. "Mr Rupert, thank you very much. Thanks to your help now I can answer all the questions that are inside my head."
"O-oh is that so? I'm glad to hear it." Rupert blinked both his eyes quickly.
"Ah, and about Penelope. You're friends with him, aren't you?"
"Hm? how can you conclude that?"
Quinn pointed at something on Rupert's desk. "That's, I know the hallmark of a Penelope bouquet. You said his name very casually. One more thing, you asked me a question as if you were defending him and cornering me about Uncle Vincent."
Rupert remained calm in response to Quinn's ingenuity that had never been depicted on her innocent and supple face. "You're like a detective."
"You'd better not just grant all Penelope's requests. He's not a long thinker. You'll only be the one who's harmed."
"Fun to cooperate with you, Lady Shuvillian~. See you next time."
Quinn then invites Finn to leave, more or less he has listened to all the answers to his questions so far. Just ask Penelope who sent all the evidence of her own father's crimes. "You'll be home soon, won't you?"
"Yes. I avoid checking. Tomorrow I'll see Pastor Christian again."
"You're super busy, huh."
"You have to move fast to be able to rival a cunning opponent." Quinn massaged his neck which felt stiff due to the tension he felt himself. "Raiden already holds the highest position as Crown Prince, the future King. But he wanted spirit power at once to become the strongest, huh?" inner Quinn who assumed that Raiden wanted to reach the highest and strongest position that his manifestation would later be on par with the Gods.
Quinn lowered her head while stroking her chin, "That's the meaning of Zacchaeus' warning to me? Zacchaeus said he was a spirit god. That means he's already aware that one of the King's descendants has already begun to renege on the covenant to keep each other at peace."
"Oh, right too. Not just anyone can see the spirit. If Raiden could not see it, he would not be able to hope to reach out to spirit power. A man like me makes his near-impossible goal possible."
Quinn continued to stream ideas and opinions after leaving the post office. To the extent that dis did not hear Finn's call that had been almost ten times. "Lady!" Quinn gasped in shock as Finn raised his voice.
"Yes?"
"What have you been thinking since? you wanna hit the pole in front of you? I don't know what kind of idea you have right now, but you better not push yourself too hard."
"I knew. You talk too much."
Finn glanced at the girl who was shorter than him, "The closer you approach danger, the more you won't calm down. Prepare to lose your sense of security because you've harassed a criminal like the Prince."
"My goal is to thwart Raiden in achieving his goal. I don't need peace or anything because I've felt it enough."
In the end Finn could only resign with Quinn's patent decision. Finn himself is not looking to have an ambitious King like Raiden, but Quinn still has plenty of openings that will make him easily attacked back. "Huh, I don't know why I can't ignore it" Finn said inwardly as his eyes scoured into Quinn's flat face.
Quinn who felt looked at from earlier felt uncomfortable. "What do you see?" ketus tanyanya.
"No. It's just that I was thinking, do you still have the desire to go to Pixie Village?"
"Yes. Not anytime soon. I still have a lot of work to do." Quinn exhaled a slightly rough breath. "I've got a lot of PR to take from tomorrow."
"Huh..." Finn responded with ******** resigned. No one can stand in his way, why try to persuade?
Inside the office, Rupert kept looking at Quinn's photo even though his mind had remembered every expression the long black-haired girl had made. "Chairman, why are you looking at this picture of Lady Quinn?" asked the known girl named Keela in astonishment. He went inside to deliver tea.
"Hm, can't you?"
"It's not. Is the Chairman ever getting interested in him? that's right. You want to betray Lady Penelope?" Rupert flashed a smile and replied, "Oi, don't say as if I'm a female player. I just want to get to know Quinn more closely. He looks very different when observed up close."
Keela rotated her eyes bored, "Oh come on, the person next to her is dangerous."
"Yes, yes, I get it. You're such a fuss, interrupting my imaginary time."
Keela pursed her lips unacceptably chatty. He sat on the sofa in the room while looking at the three bags of gold coins. "By the way, what is Lady Quinn investigating? it doesn't seem like he's messing around until he's out this much money."
"Little children do not need to know the affairs of adults. Oh, I got a job for you."
Keela looked enthusiastically waiting, "What?".
Raiden is walking casually to the basement where only he and his parents can enter. The basement is very well maintained because there is a place where important items are stored relics of the previous king and sacred objects that Raiden managed to take from the temple.
The beautiful man placed a black rose in a small vase right in front of a painting of the empress, the Queen of the Ethereal Kingdom who had died. "Good night, mom. I haven't given you flowers in a long time."
Raiden directs the candle he holds to the top of the painting, precisely to the painting of the Queen's face which in fact is Raiden's own biological mother. "I've moved closer to my goal. I told you, didn't I? I'm going to make a dream come true that mom said was impossible."
The man's huge hand moved to burn the Queen's only large painting he had as part of the kingdom's history. "Mom should have supported me from the beginning. If so, mom will still be by my side and see how I reach my ambitions."
"Goodbye. I won't remember my mother anymore. There was no motherly service I felt until I had to say thank you." she said coldly and heartlessly. There is no sign of sadness at all. Raiden has no affection for his mother.
The engorged flames devoured the Queen's face painting which slowly began to turn into that ash. Raiden's cold gaze was now fixed on the necklace he had stored inside there.
