I Will Be The New Me

I Will Be The New Me
CHAPTER 21

"YOUR MAJESTY THE GRAND DUKE?! YOUR MAJESTY! IT'S WICKED!"

The panicked and hasty-impressed voice while calling out his title made the old man wake up from his deep sleep. "Why did he make such a commotion in the morning blind?" Bastien blinked his still-loving eyes. "Why am I sleeping on the couch in the study? it seems I'm too tired to remember anything."

The owner of the palace could already hear footsteps before the form of the servant appeared at the door. A few seconds later, a servant with a hunting breath stood before the door of the study. "Y-Your Majesty..."

"Why are you running like that? what's up?"

The servant pointed towards the front room of the palace, "I-it... Lady Quinn.." she had trouble explaining the situation with a gasp. Panic ensued, even some of Bastien's servants saw him running while carrying the medicine box.

"Quinn!"

Bastien forgot everything. He ran up in the fog following the female servant who brought the medicine box, his mind suddenly becoming chaotic. His chest rumbled painfully.

Arriving in the front room, Quinn was surrounded by four servants. Her long hair was shabby and very messy, the dress that was worn was no longer shaped, even from the side Bastien could see there were wounds on her grandson's arms and face. "Quinn?!"

The girl looked towards the source of the voice with her eyes puffy, her eyes already reddened, a sorrowful and fearful cry so fiercely sounded as Quinn felt the warmth of the anxious embrace from the grandfather. "Quinn, what happened to you?! why are you so badly hurt? tell me who has dared to hurt you?!"

Bastien felt very guilty when he saw his grandson's body which was full of wounds and abrasions. Moreover, feeling the body of his granddaughter tremble violently, "Grandfather, I am very afraid. I thought I was going to meet my end." he said on the sidelines as he pleased.

"Why did you get here like this, son? I'm sorry, I didn't know you went out. I'm sorry, I can't protect you when you need to."

Evan rushes out of the library and glances in shock at Quinn's condition. The girl looked like she had just been robbed. His black eyes glanced at the front door that was still wide open, "How did His Majesty Quinn come home? why don't I see the coachman of the Grand Duke's palace?" tanyanya is impatient.

Sala, a servant, said, "He came home on foot, sir."

"What?!" Evan again landed a look at the long wound on Quinn's back. "What's really going on? why did he leave?" boldly speaking, no one heard because they were all focused on the granddaughter of the Grand Duke.

"There's a bunch of bandits coming to attack me, cake. They're very scary. When I was attacked, the coachman instead ran away to save himself after stealing my money bag left in the carriage. I was so afraid, why would the coachman be so willing to leave such a weak helpless girl like me? I didn't expect him to betray just because of the treasure. Grandpa, are there any grandfather workers you can trust?"

Yes, although reluctant to admit, Quinn actually cried fear of venting all the feelings that were turbulent in the heart. How not, this is the first time to hurt someone and to make someone's life float. Seeing the blood for the first time also made Quinn feel tense and nauseous and it was still there until now.

Quinn's hands are no longer clean. His chest hurt thinking about how evil he was to the assassin's family. It was a pity that Quinn did not feel so much after seeing Evan's reaction.

Of course the statement Quinn gave made Evan and some other spies surprised instead of playing. Carter for them could not have done such a cowardly act, but all the evidence was in sight, nothing could be evaded except to accept the reality. Evan massaged his forehead as he sighed furiously, "That son of a bitch. What exactly has he done? he's not sane."

Bastiens gazed at the mistress of all his servants "How can you not pay attention to what your own master needs?! did I pay you guys just to take care of the house?!"

The rough clash of Bastien managed to make the waiter there bow down deeply. Evan then represented all the servants who worked in the Lombard court bowed deeply to apologize for his mistake. "Please forgive me for my mistake, Your Majesty. I am the one who has been distracted. I was the one who saw His Holiness Quinn leave, but I was not so attentive to him that this all happened." how could Evan possibly say that Quinn had refused to bring one of the Knights from the Lombardy residence.

"Command people to find the coachman until they can! I will pay with gold bars if my pay is less! You guys, be honest with me if I'm too stingy to pay." said Bastien sarcas.

The head of the Lombard family seemed to be trying to contain his anger so that he would rather put pressure on every sentence rather than raise his voice. He then carried Quinn's body to move her to the room.

"Evan, send a letter to Savero right now."

"I'll do it soon, Your Majesty."

"It seems like tomorrow I will have to regulate those fools who dare to look for trouble with my family."

Hearing Bastien's warning at that time, all the servants gathered there stiffened in fear, except Evan of course. He then calmly ordered the maid back and helped Quinn take care of her injuries.

Bastien waited outside the room as Quinn bandaged the wound on his back and changed the clothes. "Slow down yeah, it's sore."

"Alright, I understand, Your Majesty. You take it easy, I'll quickly bandage your wounds well."

Quinn grinned thinly. No doubt Evan will also send a notice to Raiden regarding his circumstances.

Thirty minutes passed and now Quinn could feel his body was already lighter, all had been cleaned up including the dust and dirt stuck. The girl laid down her body while breathing a sigh of relief.

"May I come in, Quinn?"

"Of course, grandfather."

"Not sit, just lie down." Bastien stroked Quinn's forehead lovingly, "Why are you out at night?"

"I just wanted to visit the temple to pray to the Gods to keep my mother there. After that I stopped by the house and gave a present to Killian, she'll be back in her dorm this morning."

"Huh. you are," a long sigh escaped the middle-aged man's lips. His eyebrows twitched together, Bastien tilted his head slightly, "What happened to your eyes? is your vision okay? were your eyes hurt too? does that hurt?" ask Bastien bertubi.

my grandfather realized it too.

"I'm fine, grandpa." Quinn held his grandfather's hand with a smile, "I'm sorry I came out without telling you, grandfather is already sound asleep so I can't wake you just to ask for permission."

"Grandfather who should be apologizing to you. You're probably gonna have a fever from having a wound like that."

"No problem, I'm home."

Bastien went back to seriously thinking where the coachman was going. Well, Quinn Jendiri doesn't know about it. He left all the rest of his work to Finn. "Where did you leave that coachman?"

"I don't know the name of the place, sorry grandpa. I just know the place is deserted."

"so yeah. I've asked Evan to deploy some soldiers to check the place out."

Quinn clasped his grandfather's hand tightly, "I survived because there was someone helping me." he then looked up pretending to be remembering what the figure who helped him looked like. "If not wrong, her hair shimmers like gold. His body is tall but he's a bit thin, I've never seen that guy before, he's so great."

Quinn glanced at Evan who was standing in front of the door of her room. "Just look around the world. You can't possibly find him because all you can see is me." Quinn uses the features of Zacchaeus to cover up his actions that have taken a person's life.

"Now rest first. I'll go take care of the rest, yeah. Don't worry, it won't happen again."

Bastien left Quinn's room. Evan also went to follow where the master went, "Your Majesty, I think the Prince should also be informed about the condition of His Majesty Quinn. He is also his close friend. Moreover, this is about the bandits that roam the Helldelune."

"As far as you are. I'll take care of all the waiter data in this house."

Early in the day around five, Raiden managed to finish his picture of something that no one else could understand. "Hm?" his youthful face lifted as soon as he heard the sound of a hurried knock on the door from outside. "Come in."

"Your Majesty, you get a letter from Mr. Evan."

The young man then coded with a finger so that the servant who brought him immediately approached. "Explain to me what happened this time."

"That driver, Carter, he's acting too conspicuously."

The maid, who was one of the spies in Bastien's house besides Evan, told Quinn everything after being robbed. When viewed from his very messy appearance, all of Quinn's explanations so do not look far-fetched.

"Hm, so." Raiden hung his chin while reading per sentence carefully. None of the reaction the servant could see from Kaisen's only son when he learned that the girl close to him was seriously injured. "Find Carter until you get it. Bring him to me alive."

Raiden did not need to stress his words, nor did he need to bully to show how angry he was at the moment. The handsome man who had everything was only quite commanding with a flat coupled with a sharp drawing, then everyone knew that anyone who did not satisfy him would end up dead.

Raiden got up from the chair while taking off his warm coat.

"Your Majesty..."

Raiden raised one corner of his lips to form a grin. "out. I need to get ready to see my future fiance." The young man's brain was working hard thinking about Quinn. "He always had a way of getting my attention."

For ten minutes Raiden rode his own horse towards the Grand Duke's palace. He ran into the palace without a sense of hesitation. "Greetings, Grand Duke."

Bastien smiled faintly "Prince, you've come so quickly."

"What are you taking care of? it seems serious." asked Raiden as he stepped closer to Bastien's desk.

"I'll cut down my waiter a little."

While in the room Quinn was busy thinking about the words of Zacchaeus that left a big question mark in his brain. Quinn had never felt the aura of the man and did not even feel any magical activity or anything like that before he was decapitated.

"yes too. In retrospect, I never asked about Mom's origins. He never told his hometown either. Where and how did you meet Mom?" Quinn glanced at the door leaf of her room, sensing that there were footsteps starting to approach. "I can't lie here all the time. I'll leave after Raiden's visit is over."

Quinn picked up a notebook in her nightstand drawer, and then she took down a new agenda that she needed to do.

Tok tok tok tok

A subtle door knock sounds "Quinn? it's me, Raiden."

Quinn returned the book to the drawer of the nightstand next to her bed. "Yes, please come in."

Brak!

The door was opened impatiently by the young man. He ran in and grabbed the sweet girl's body tightly. "Sorry, Quinn. I'm late."

"It hurts, Raiden. Can you let me go?"

"Oh sorry, reflexes." Raiden's eyebrows dropped to look at Quinn's plastered cheeks, as well as her right arm. "I'm sorry, I wasn't there when you needed to." His right hand was raised stroking gently on Quinn's plastered cheeks.

Raiden was fixated with the beauty of Quinn's more sparkling eyes. "Quinn, are your eyes okay? why did your eye color change a little?"

This was the third question Quinn had heard. He guaranteed his father would ask the same thing later.

"I'm fine, mung—" Quinn paused before the tossed sentence was finished. What did he just see? there was no way the illusion would be that clear. Raiden was clearly looking at her with a gaze that was hard to explain. The man felt satisfied and challenged. Raiden did not stare at Quinn, he seemed to be close to his ambitions. "Raiden's? what's up?" ask Quinn.

"No. Sorry, I'm daydreaming like this." Raiden cleared his throat, "I heard you were robbed by that bandit, so how did you get away with them alone?"

Quinn grinned inwardly. It's time to make sure what Raiden's after is real. A beautiful smile was on the lips of the beautiful girl, "There was a man who helped me, he was great. You know, he can beat those bandits easily. I wonder if he's a Knight, his way of fighting is really amazing." Quinn said innocently.

See it? Quinn was now very satisfied to see Raiden's face which was instantly as stiff as a statue's expression. His eyes turned even sharper and colder. "Is that so? do you remember what she looked like?"

Quinn repeatedly swore inwardly at how ignorant Raiden was right now. He's the one who sent the hit man, isn't he? with confidence he asked Quinn's situation and instead preferred to interrogate her. It was as if he did not hesitate to show a little of his true self to Quinn.

"Um, because it's dark and he's also turned his back on me, so his appearance isn't very clear let alone his face. But surely he has golden hair that shines bright even if only hit by the dim light of the moon. He's taller than Raiden. I feel my heart pounding, I'm amazed to see it."

Raiden smiled. He used his fingers to play the ends of Quinn's hair down to his lap. "Your eyes sparkle when you tell that person, are you that easy to forget? don't you make me that way, Quinn. I feel pain here." talking in such a sad tone actually provoked Quinn to want to further watch Raiden's acting in fooling him who already knew the young man's rottenness.

"Of course not. My love is only for Raiden. I was just showing my admiration, really. I don't think anyone else is as strong as Raiden." Quinn felt that his entire stomach had moved into his esophagus. Crap talk turns out to be draining too huh.

"Don't make me keep fidgeting Quinn."

"Um, won't." Quinn nodded according.

"You have enough rest until all your wounds are healed. If I find that person, I'll give him a great gift for saving you." Raiden stood up. Before leaving the room, Raiden took the time to kiss Quinn on the forehead. "I'll take care of the coachman don't know that for you, Quinn. From now on, no human will touch you not even a finger."

"Grandpa said grandpa would take care of it, you don't have to add to your job, Raiden. I know Raiden has had enough trouble taking over the King's job."

Raiden opened the door and stepped out. "I will fight for everything for the people I love. Later in the afternoon I'll see you again, have a good rest, my Quinn."

Quinn smiled as she returned Raiden's hand. "My nausea is getting worse this fast, it's like I'm smelling the scent of a carcass" he murmured, still glancing at the door of his innocent room. "He's just here to make sure I don't die."

At the same time in the mansion of Count Shuvillian, Savero moves recklessly every time he does something. His hands trembled after reading the contents of the letter written by Evan. Killian had just left for the dorm, so she had no idea what kind of unpleasant news her family had gotten.

"Penelope, let's go quickly." take Savero when he sees Penelope getting ready to wear the beautiful dress she bought that afternoon. "Uncle, why are you so agitated and in such a hurry? what's up?"

"We have to go to Dad's house now."

"Why? but... Today I have an event with the Prince.." great-grandson Penelope. The shoulder-haired girl followed Savero forward, "Actually what is going on?" ask Penelope again.

"Quinn was hurt by bandits" Savero said, not wanting to waste more time.

Penelope immediately pecked on the spot, her eyes rounded in shock. "What?" he mumbled in disbelief. The two girls' hands clenched beside the skirt, "Why didn't she die...?"
