Kean Pov:
Every thing always has a limit including for us, the most perfect creatures in this world. There are limits to intelligence, luck, wealth, power, ability and of course the limits of courage.
I still can't believe I'm standing here with a girl who just grabbed my wrist and told me not to move. He brought me to a limit, a limit I never liked because it showed my weakness as a man.
Yes, that is the limit of my courage.
The girl next to me was testing how brave I was to face the fear I had over 20 years ago. She was the most stubborn woman, adamantly asking me to stand beside her and hold my hand without being able to fight.
My strength was not big enough to resist the grip of his hand that was getting tighter and tighter. She's a woman, how can she be this strong? Or, I'm a man, how can I be this weak?
Like a child, I stood on the threshold of fear with my breath beginning to weigh as one by one the floor descended by the litves before me. I ignored the surroundings around me that might also be waiting for what would happen in the seconds when the elevator doors opened.
“Ding!” my heart stopped beating as the elevator rang just seconds before the door opened.
“Hold master, just a minute.” Whisper Disa who can still smile beside me. Crazy one! He really tested me. He didn't even care about my sweat pouring out and my hands getting wet.
My knees were trembling, as my leg bones softened and lost balance to support my tall body.
Slowly the elevator door opened, I tried to regulate my breath that was panting with cold sweat pouring out. The shadow when I was in the closed room was filled with flames and smoke was clearly reflected in my mind. It was all too scary and I never wanted to repeat it. If it happens again, who will help me? She's she? I'm skeptical.
However, I was flabbergasted when suddenly the elevator door in front of me opened. What I saw was not a layer of gray iron, but a combination of white and blue with a little transparent effect like glass. Hah, it's almost like my body collapsed if Disa doesn't hold it.
“Can, this?” I looked at Lisa who was holding my body. He smiled and stepped into the elevator.
“Hem, this is your cockpit room sir.” Disa said with a smile looking at the three-dimensional paintings she made.
I slowly straightened my body. It was like there was a strong push that made my feet step into the elevator and look at the mural painting that Disa made. I can hardly believe it, it all feels like it's real. There is a blue color that depicts a bright sky, a white color with cloud shapes and of course, the left and right sides feel like glass walls.
I felt like I was really a pilot. In accordance with my goals so far.
I touched the elevator wall surface, very smooth. Somehow Disa made it. “What, it's you who made it?” I am still amazed at what Disa did.
“Iya sir. Do you like it?”
“Hem.” My heart without turning away from the mural that Disa made. It turned out to be as beautiful and beautiful as this work that could be created.
I slowly felt the elevator move up. I hadn't felt this feeling for a long time until I had forgotten the feeling of taking the elevator.
“It feels like gliding inside a spaceship right?” the smiling test behind me.
“Hem. It felt like I was flying a helicopter. My adrenaline is soaring. It feels like I have been out of confinement that has held me all this time.” The one who turned around looked at Disa.
I saw that he was just smiling, like he was happy to be with me in the face of my fear. The question arises in my mind,“But, what are you doing all this for?” really, I wonder if he did all this.
Disa's face that showed a smile, now turned tense. He didn't think I would ask why. I can't wait for the answer.
“Em, i...”.
I saw his fingers twisting each other, as if hesitating and afraid to say his point.
“Say.” My love without lowering my eyes from looking at her.
I don't know why I felt later that Disa's face had the right combination when I saw her. It was like finding tranquility as I looked at her innocent face and her clear eyes.
“I, have read an article about a leader.” He begins the story but is interrupted by an elevator that stops moving followed by an open door. He stepped out first and then I followed. My focus is still on hearing the explanation.
“He said, when a leader is on the highest floor of his company, his view will be much wider. He can see a lot of things going on down there and think of ways to solve each of his problems calmly.”
Our steps came to a halt right in front of a door that had only one on this floor. I just found out. On the door leaf was written the director's room. Not far from the door, there was a large table with the writing of a secretary, perched on it. Really, I'm a complete stranger.
Can open the door of the room and it looks a large room with an elegant design. From the way it is arranged, I believe this is the result of the intervention of the girl who walked in front of me.
His steps stopped, then he turned to look at me with a line of smiles.
“For me, young master, like a wild lion. Each of your gestures will be a command that will determine the fate of those who are leading in the future. You are a strong person, can lead this company in a wise way there.” He stretched out his hand and made my gaze shifted to the director's seat beside the large window.
Look, the style is like a tour guide.
“Your place is not at the bottom of the crater, but rather at the highest place of this building.”
“And about the reason I do all this, because I feel you do a lot for me sir. And until anytime I won't be able to reply. Just this little thing I can do for you.” His head was nodding takjim.
I was like being bewitched by his words. I saw the sincerity of every word that flowed from his mouth. I feel my heart is shaken. Without her knowing it, the little things she did were big things to me. Being in this place will change a lot of things.
I looked into her clear eyes. It was like a warm swish was flowing through my blood. And my heart, wait, why is it pounding so hard?
I clenched my hand to dampen the feeling that felt quite foreign and I had never felt before.
“Thank you, thank you very much.” This is the most sincere expression I can say to the girl in front of me.
It was like there was a burning feeling when I saw her nodding and smiling so sweetly. I don't know why I always focus on a pair of clear eyes and then the nose is not too high and then the lips. Yes lips.
I poked my own lips and turned my eyes to another angle. Remember, I respect him. I must not let my instincts as a man ruin the atmosphere that I now find so beautiful and soothing.
“What is this room, you designed it yourself?” I switched the conversation, so that my focus was also shifted. This is my attempt to control myself.
“Em, yes sir but only part.” He seemed to be surprised by his surprise.
“Partially?” I quote one last word he said.
He was sure. Again, with her sweet smile. “I asked mas roy to seek the services of an interior designer to organize this room to make it feel more professional. I only partially arrange, so that the master easily puts things and places to relax outside of it.” Disa pointed to the outside of the office that seemed from my work space.
I followed the direction of Disa's index finger and I saw a ladder that went nowhere.
"I hope, young master can work comfortably and finish all the work in this place. When the young master came home, the master could enjoy the young master's time to think of himself without having to carry the burden of the rest of the work." his sentence sounded straightforward and slightly tickled me.
"It seems you don't like me bringing work home." I smiled faintly as I asked that question.
He nodded, with great certainty. "Not sir. I hope that when you get home, you can think of yourself. No longer think of the work that makes your forehead wrinkle endlessly." the sentence was truly diplomatic. He was very good at answering my questions.
“Okey. Then, what's there?” I pointed at the place that Disa pointed at. I really am curious.
“Do you want to see it?” he looks very enthusiastic. I like to blink his eyes.
“Hem.” I sure nodded.
“Good. Let's be here mr.” He walked in front of me, walked out of the room and turned slightly into a small corridor between my room and the secretary's place.
We climbed the stairs and “Waw!” I was really surprised by what I saw.
Apparently, he designed the office rooftop. I can see some benches that are neat and patterned. There are vines over the canopy that shade us so as not to feel hot. From where I stand, I can see the vastness of Jakarta with buildings towering above the height of my office building. A strong wind blew my hair that I had arranged this morning. Right, it feels really relieving.
I walked past Disa. Looking around the rooftop that feels like a playground to me. I really like her. Like some of my moments lost in the past, it is now presented again by Disa in the form of new opportunities.
“Do you like sir?” the sound of Disa that I heard and saw he was standing in front of the rooftop guardrail while enjoying the wind. The strands of her hair child seemed to be waving in the wind.
“Sure, I really like it.” My voice came to him and stood beside him. At what point of view we were enjoying what we saw with our own eyes.
I took a deep breath while closing my eyes. I felt the new air filling my chest cavity making both of my lungs expand perfectly. Apparently, there is still fresh air under the sky of Jakarta.
“I'm sorry because for a few days I didn't answer your phone sir. It makes you angry and ignores you as my employer. But really, I never meant it that way.” Disa looked at me softly as she said her sentence.
I wanted to laugh at myself when I remembered my anger at him a few days ago. I didn't expect that he was preparing something big in this place.
I can imagine, when I called maybe both hands were covered in paint. The heat in the elevator with paint stains on the face, the clothes to the apron as I saw a few days ago. I felt guilty for thinking he went secretly to the gallery to see Reza. In fact, he was struggling to make a surprise that was very surprising to me.
Hah, sorry Disa.
“Why don't you say it and instead conspire with roy?” I still don't think it out. It's worth it these few days Roy looks weird every time I talk about Disa.
“Complot? Master makes me sound like a criminal.” His mouth is chuckling.
I'm laughing too. I noticed his hand clutching the iron fringe. It was the hand that helped me get through my fear. Then I saw also my wrist that was in Disa's hand. The warmth still flowed through my blood.
“In this place you can think of more things. Think of the company not because of profit. Congratulations on fighting master, I'm sure you can face it all.” His words as he clenched his hands gave me full spirit.
I just smiled, it turns out that besides being good at painting, he was also good at entertaining and encouraging me.
For a moment, there was only a quiet atmosphere between us. We were with our own thoughts and gazed far ahead. I miss times like this. To be with someone who sincerely stood beside me without needing to ask a lot of trite questions and made me sick. I'm happy because at a time like this it's him who accompanies me and stands at the top of my company.
Thank you Disa. Thank you very much.
