Chapters 17. Go home early

The cold night had changed into a warm morning. The sound of crickets was no longer heard after the chirping of birds sounded louder in the ear.

Still the same as yesterday morning in a room, a couple, Sea and Noah are preparing to do their respective activities.

Two weeks have passed since that night. The night when the two promised to talk about all the questions that haunted each other's minds. Just promise without ever keeping it, because both Sea and Noah end up just putting his hope in the time that will obscure everything.

As a result nothing has changed. Sea remained adamant with the conclusion he made if he would try to support Noah's happiness, despite having to hurt him himself.

While Noah felt no need to explain anything to Sea. After all Sea seemed unconcerned, it seemed like the girl did not know the mess made by Alesandra, he thought.

Also for the last two weeks, Noah and Alesandra received a letter of reprimand and punishment from the Hospital for allegedly making news that could have defamed the doctors at Pelita Harapan Hospital. Alesandra's post on social media about her relationship with Noah, considered inappropriate because of the status of Noah who is a married man.

A day after his return from the city of S, Noah and Alesandra were asked to meet with the hospital management. Noah, who had previously been warned by his two best friends, could suspect that this meeting had something to do with false rumors that shook almost all over the hospital.

“The two of you can please explain about the rumors circulating among the nurses and workers in this hospital?” ask Dr. Stevan as the hospital director.

No time for Noah or Alesandra replied, one of the ethics and legal committees participated in chiming in Doctor Stevan's questions. “If these rumors get to the things that deserve crowded, the good name of the doctors at this Hospital is at stake,” he said. “The reason you did an affair while running errands from the hospital.”

Noah who had been addressing calmly finally provoked emotions as well. “Sorry, but what you just said was slander!”

“I reiterate here, I do not have any relationship with Doctor Alesandra or any other woman besides my wife!” Noah circulated his gaze, staring one by one at the meeting.

Then Noah's gaze stopped just as his neutrals met directly with Neutra Doctor Stevan, the director of the hospital.

“Actually there is something I need to clarify here. Whether it happened because it was intentional or not, but actually what purpose did the Hospital assign me to attend the seminar in S City?" tanyakanya.

"The information I received from the seminar committee, if I was never scheduled to attend the seminar," Noah explained.

Can Noah see if Doctor Stevan immediately seemed nervous, the doctor who became his role model immediately averted his eyes like avoiding the gaze of Noah.

“If this unimportant mistake did not happen, then I could not be involved in a funny joke made by Doctor Alesandra,” said Noah. His sharp gaze turned to look at his colleague with a flash of emotion.

“Joke?!” One of the Hospital management who had been silent since, commented. “You consider something as important as this a joke? Do you not think about how the public view if the news of one of the doctors at this hospital involved an affair with other doctors?”

“No!” reply Noah was no less firm at that time.

“At least I never intended to think about it, because it would be impossible for me to do.”

It's good to corner himself with fake news circulating, Noah thought at the time.

“And your inquiry, it would be more appropriate if you submit to Doctor Alesandra!” revealed.

“Ask, what does it mean to take our photos without my knowledge. Uploading it without my consent and making it as if we were involved in a relationship,” Noah continued.

Alesandra thought Noah would just shut up and accept the punishment that would be given to them. Apparently beyond the expectations of the beautiful doctor, Noah defended himself. His strategy to spread rumors of a relationship with Noah's doctor was not expected to be as serious as it is today.

So with a shamelessness, Alesandra can only apologize and admit if all that is true is just a joke that he made without Noah's knowledge.

Not wanting to get the bad spotlight, then the management team and directors of the hospital finally decided to give a week-long suspension to Doctor Alesandra. Doctor Noah gets extra watch on IGD at night for a week.

Because of that decision also the distance between the couple, Sea and Noah is getting wider. The two only met in the morning, greeting each other as usual.

Sea is still doing a very good job as a wife if Noah is at home. By night Noah returned to work, his wife had been sleeping soundly.

Unlike Noah who had to serve a sentence for mistakes he did not make, Sea managed to live his days better than before. More laughter is also more of a burden on the mind that slowly goes away on its own.

Two weeks ago Sea was working at the Venus Cafe. Disappointment over Noah's indifference to her was like disappearing when Sea gained more attention from Alfio.

Alfio chuckled, the man unable to hold back his laughter looking at the surprised Sea. Another employee who was there was forced to hold back his laughter seeing the nosy boss on one of their colleagues.

“You're laughing at me, huh?” Sea sulking.

“How yes, Sea.. You are very funny and adorable when surprised like earlier,” Alfio replied.

Alfio's reply made Sea even more annoyed to the point of turning his face away. “OK.. okay.. forgive me,” said Alfio finally relented.

“As my apology, tonight will you accompany me to dinner?” bargain Alfio.

Sea shaking. “Al, you know when it was still my working hours,” reject Sea.

Not wanting Sea to refuse his invitation the next time, an idea finally emerged. “Tonight I gave you the task to taste the latest dishes of our cafe,” said Al.

“How? Can you still refuse?” tanyakanya. “Ayolah Sea.. This is not dinner as you think, just think of it as working at dinner time.”

The sea that could no longer resist could only sigh.

At home I had to face Noah, the man indifferent. Now while working I also have to face Alfio, the forger. Huhh....

Without caring about Noah's response, he again busied himself with his favorite orchid plant.
