"Who is this Steve?"
Neither Lionel nor Casey were doing much work that day.
So, after they finished lunch, Lionel chose to spend time in Casey's study, sitting on the couch, and reading the article in the newspaper.
Casey lifted his gaze from the computer screen in front of him, then tried to see Lionel from the top of the object, because he heard Lionel asking about Steve.
"If it's just an acquaintance or a senior, why is it so easy to agree, when you ask him to meet?
... Moreover, he had to traverse the continent, just for the sake of realizing your desire to meet," continued Lionel, again, smiling, as if he was mocking Casey.
"There is no special relationship between us. But why should I explain it to you?" Casey taunted Lionel.
"Geez! ... It's getting suspicious" said Lionel, while playing a ballpoint pen played between his fingers.
"Pffit...!" Casey laughed, then went back to looking at his computer screen.
"I used to ask him for help, to give me a tutor, as long as he was in university," Casey said, without taking his eyes off the computer screen.
"Is he that smart?" ask Lionel, curious.
"Didn't you hear Oscar? Steve is a professor now. Is he smart or not?" Casey.
"Smart people, make friends with smart people. Actually not too surprising. But...."
Lionel seemed to want to say something, but he was detained, until the sentence felt hanging.
"Do you think I've ever dated her?" ask Casey.
And before Lionel responded to his question, Casey then went on to say,
"If I had ever dated her, would there still be a chance that the relationship between us would still be okay?"
"Is his face not handsome?" ask Lionel.
Casey raised his gaze again, and looked towards Lionel, who seemed to be smiling to himself, while looking towards Casey.
"Hm ... I think Steve is handsome. He's just too skinny" Casey replied.
"Especially with his thick glasses, which made my friends not interested in him....
... Never mind dating, I'm just friends with him, it's been a material gossip at university" continued Casey.
"I didn't know you cared too much about rumors" Lionel said.
"I don't care about the bad talk behind my back ... But I felt sorry for him, who was getting bullied more and more, for being close to me."
While talking to Lionel, memories of his time at university, and being close friends with Steve, flashed through Casey's head.
"Is it that bad? ... During my time in college in this country, I never heard of anyone being bullied, just because of how he looked" Lionel said.
"Hm ... You don't know" Casey said, then looked back at the computer screen.
The university where Casey attended, was a renowned university, and a repository for accomplished people.
But that place, as well as the storehouse of narcissistic students, and some of it, are racist people.
"Miss Roberts!" A knock on the door followed by an open door, and Morty greeting, making Casey look at the door.
Morty walked in and walked over to Casey, then said,
"CEO Aaron Hamilton, would like to meet you."
Casey sighed deeply, thinking, and did not immediately respond to Morty's message, for a while.
"Did he tell me why, until he wanted to see me?" ask Casey.
"No one, Miss!" suhoor Morty. "Do you want me to ask you first?"
Casey then looks at Lionel, who appears to be putting on a displeased face, because of Aaron's plan to meet Casey.
"Not necessary ... Just let him in!" casey said, giving his orders to Morty.
"Good, Miss! ... Excuse me!" Morty then turned around, and passed away from inside Casey's study.
Not long after, the door of the room opened again, and Aaron walked in there, and immediately approached Casey.
"What's wrong?" casey asked, without looking at Aaron, and preferred to stare at his computer screen.
It took a while for Aaron, who was silent, to say, Then he said,
"There's something I'd like to talk to you about alone."
"Huuufft...!" Casey gave a rough snort, then raised his gaze and looked at Aaron, then said,
Aaron nodded his head.
"Is it possible you'll just piss me off?" casey asked, while still looking at Aaron in his eyes.
Aaron shook his head. "No."
"Fine!" sahut Casey, then looked towards Lionel, and said,
"Lion! ... Can you wait outside for a minute?"
Lionel looked reluctant, but he finally stood up, and walked out of the room, without commenting.
"Please sit!" casey said to Aaron, when Lionel had disappeared from behind the door of the study, which was closed again.
"Can I sit next to you?" asked Aaron, sounding cautious.
"As far as you are...!" sahut Casey's.
Casey's answer, as if to be the drive button for Aaron, who immediately shifted a chair, approached the work chair where Casey was sitting.
"I really want to apologize to you ... I just found out that it was Julie who bothered you first" Aaron said.
"Okay!" sahut Casey, perverse.
With both of his eyebrows linked, Aaron looked like he was waiting for Casey to continue speaking, until the two of them just fell silent while staring.
"Okay? ... That's it? ... Okay?" Aaron seemed to not believe what Casey said, so he had to re-emphasize Casey's words.
"Yes" Casey replied, briefly.
"Is there nothing else you want to say? Is that all?" asked Aaron, looking confused.
"Then what do you want me to say?" Casey asked back.
Aaron then holds Casey's hand.
Although Casey tried to release him, Aaron actually tightened his grip, so Casey could not release his hand from Aaron's grip.
"Casey...!" aaron said, with a clear voice and face.
Casey finally gave up, and let Aaron hold his hand.
"Do you not want to scold me?" ask Aaron.
"You can curse at me. Or if you want to slap me, that's okay. But ... Okay? Why is it just like that?" aaron continued.
"Aaron! ... Do you realize that your current behavior is very strange?" casey asked, honestly speaking what came to her mind.
"Casey...! Do you really not love me anymore?" ask Aaron.
"Yes," Casey replied, astonished. "Don't I ever tell you that?"
"Is it because of the R&D manager? You've been close to her lately, haven't you?" ask Aaron.
"What's really in your head? Are you still normal now? You just scared me....
... Do I have to call Lionel, to drag you out of here? Because I think he won't hesitate to hit you in the face again" Casey said.
"Casey...! I want to start from the beginning with you ... I'm really sorry, I've been doing all my bad shit all this time."
While talking, Aaron slightly lowered his face, and stroked the soft hands of Casey he still held.
"I don't expect you to love me anymore. I just want us not to be hostile. That's it.." Aaron continued.
"Hm ... Okay!" sahut Casey's.
Aaron raised his face again, then looked at Casey fixedly.
"Geez! ... Just okay? Is that believable?" aaron asked, again looking unsure of Casey's answer.
"What are you like? ... Should we hug?" sahut Casey, cynical.
Aaron fell silent while still staring at Casey fixedly.
"It seems, you really did change ... But it's okay! ... So from now on, we can be friends?" aaron said, excited.
"No," Casey replied, firmly.
"Ugh? ... Whatchu mean? Didn't you just say that you wouldn't be hostile to me?" asked Aaron, looking confused.
"But I never said I wanted to be friends with you, did I? The relationship between us, just a business acquaintance....
... And in business no one is friends, but the trust needed, and must be proven," Casey replied, no less firm than his previous words.
