Memory Of Love

Memory Of Love
The Part 22

Lionel had already returned to his room, not long after Morty's arrival bringing drinks, and some work files, into Casey's study.

However, before Lionel left, Lionel could whisper to Casey, saying, Lionel,

"I think Steve is interested in you."

Casey simply responded with a cynical smile, then told Lionel to return to his room, while pushing him outside.

"Is there anything I can do to help you?" asked Steve, who suddenly approached Casey at his desk.

Steve may feel bored, after a while, and he just looks around on his phone, sitting alone on the couch, while Casey checks the report file.

"I'm sorry" Casey said, closing the file on his desk. "I asked you to come all the way here, but I'm just busy with my work."

"It's okay" said Steve, smiling.

"Hm ... Do you want to walk around this office?" ask Casey, then stand up from his seat.

"What about your job?" Steve asked back.

"Not too urgent. I can still postpone it" Casey replied.

"Okay!" steve Sahut.

Casey then walks out of her study, together with Steve.

Just as Steve opened the door, Morty was seen standing there, as if he was about to knock on the door, but just stopped.

"Miss Roberts! ... CEO Aaron Hamilton wants to meet you" said Morty, who appeared surprised.

Casey did not immediately respond to Morty's words, and instead stepped outside, through a wide open door.

Aaron is seen standing near Morty's desk, and looks no less surprised, when compared to the reaction from Morty earlier.

"You can go back to your desk!" casey told Morty.

"Are you going to have a meeting with the CEO?" ask Steve.

"I didn't have an appointment with him" Casey replied.

Casey then looked back at Aaron, who was now walking slowly towards Casey, who was standing next to Steve.

Aaron looked at Casey and Steve alternately, then stopped his gaze at Casey, as Casey said,

"What's up? ... If it's not too urgent, you might be able to put it off first. Because there's something I want to do."

Aaron remained silent for a while, until Casey said,

"You can come back here later. We go first!"

Casey almost left with Steve, but Aaron held Casey's arm.

"Casey!" aaron said, holding Casey and Steve's step there.

Steve then leaned his head to one side of Casey's face, and whispered, saying,

"It seems, she wants to talk to you about something important. You can serve him first, in your room. I'll wait for you here."

Casey was silent for a moment.

"Now! ... Waita minute!" casey said to Steve, then looked at Aaron as he said,

"We can talk in my room."

Casey then turned around and walked first, entering her study again, followed by Aaron, who immediately closed the door, when they were both already in the room.

"Is he just your friend?" ask Aaron.

"What do you want to talk about? Don't tell me, if you just want to find out about the guest who met me" Casey said.

"Hmmm...." Aaron muttered, staring fixedly at Casey.

"I assume that if you come here, it's not because of work. Right so?" Casey.

"I'm curious about your acquaintance" said Aaron, sounding cautious.

"He's my senior at university" Casey said.

For a while later, Aaron was still speechless and stared fixedly at Casey, as if he was still waiting for an additional explanation from Casey.

"Is there anything you want to talk about again?" ask Casey.

"Is that all? ... He's your senior at the university ... That all?!" Aaron seemed to emphasize Casey's statement, as if he couldn't believe it just like that.

"Are you going to interfere in my personal affairs now?" ask Casey, cynical.

"I think you must have a more important job right now ... I have to go now!" said Casey.

Casey stretched out her hand, letting Aaron out of the room.

Apparently, Aaron looked disappointed, but he turned around, then walked out of Casey's study, followed by Casey from behind.

Aaron is seen walking quickly past Steve, without turning his head in the direction of Casey's male friend, and immediately leads to his study again.

Steve walked up to Casey, and said,

"Is there a problem? ... The CEO looked upset."

"none. He asked a few things ... Let's go!" sahut Casey, taking Steve to walk with him.

While walking to the elevator, Casey thought about Aaron's attitude, which looked like someone who was feeling jealous.

But ... Aaron jealous?

I think it's an impossible thing.

"Steve! ... What if I invite you to work here?" ask Casey, when they were in the elevator.

"Hm ... Worked in an office with you?" Steve asked back.

"Yes" answered Casey.

The elevator door opened, so Casey and Steve stepped out of it, and walked quietly on the rooftop of the office building.

"I will consider it" said Steve, with a big smile. "But ... Is that a real offer? Or are you just kidding?"

A bench was on the rooftop, so a seat for Casey and Steve, while looking at the city from the top of the building.

"Of course I mean it! ... I just don't want to force it. Because you already have a job. Moreover, you are also foreign to this country" Casey replied, smiling.

"Ugh? ... How do you know?" Steve looked surprised.

"Oscar told me that you never came to this country" Casey replied.

"So, you guys talk about me a lot, without my knowledge." said Steve, nodding his head.

"I'm sorry ... But we're not talking about anything bad about you" Casey said.

"It's okay. Don't get me wrong! Because I'm not blaming you" Steve said.

"I'm just wondering, because in the past, you didn't seem to care much about me." As Steve continued his words, it sounded like he was mocking Casey.

Similarly, the look on Steve's face at that time, which seemed as if he was holding back from laughing, while glancing at Casey with the tip of his eye.

Casey shook his head, smiled, then said,

"To be honest, it's not that I don't care, but I'm not comfortable, if I ask too many questions about your personal affairs....

... Right now I still feel that way. If Oscar hadn't said it to me unintentionally, I would probably have been disinclined to ask."

Steve then held Casey's hand, and grasped it tightly, looking at Casey fixedly, Steve said, saying,

"Now, I want you to know, if you can ask me, what do you want to know about me. I wouldn't mind answering."

Casey had felt awkward, with Steve's attitude at that time, so he could only be silent.

"Why did you think of me asking me to work here?" ask Steve.

"I checked the general data of this company. And I think there's some management system that needs to change" Casey replied.

"Hm ... But that's the CEO's job" Steve said, folding both hands in front of his chest.

"Yes, I know ... But Roberts group's shareholding in the company, more than half of it. It feels quite detrimental...,

... if you already know, that actually this company has a chance to be able to develop more, as long as the management is changed, but only left alone," said Casey.

"Have you talked about it with the CEO?" ask Steve.

"Not ... I want to listen to your opinion first" Casey replied.

"Hm ... I'm not that smart, so you have to ask me for my opinion. After all, I certainly have to look at the general data of the company, before I can give my opinion....

... And I don't work here. Are you sure you can trust me?" steve said, smiling and almost laughing as he looked at Casey.

"Do you intend to betray me?" Casey asked back.

"Haha!" Steve finally laughed, then looked at Casey fixedly, and held a smile on his face.

Steve then said,

"Trauded you? ... I don't think so. Because I would prefer to make it a threat, so that you would accept my love."
