Vidrian smiled faintly.
As she expected, Ruby was indeed a unique woman.
The woman will not allow herself to owe others anything to prevent herself from being taken advantage of. Truly worthy of being a leader of the Diedrich Group.
But Vidrian hates women like that.
A strong, powerful, independent woman does not need a man in her life. He was so strong that he didn't need anyone else.
In this context, Vidrian felt that making Ruby indebted to him was impossible. Though with that, he has many opportunities to approach Ruby later on. Not to take advantage, just take a little profit. Unfortunately Ruby did not give him access to do so.
"If so, let's have dinner together. With that, you don't have any debt to me anymore" Vidrian said in the end. After some consideration, the simplest thing becomes his choice. Just dinner, there's no way Ruby could refuse him.
But it turns out the assumption was wrong.
"Ah, what a pity. I have lost my appetite. Maybe, next time." Ruby rejected it subtly. Asking for money, paying compensation, no problem. But to eat with him, in his dreams.
Vidrian's jaw fell instantly.
Vidrian groaned in his heart. There was a long line of women hoping to invite him to dinner. But as fate would have it, he was attracted to someone who was not part of the queue.
"We don't need dinner then, I'll just sit here for a while." That way, Vidrian sat himself in an empty chair that was located right next to Ruby. He had already thrown away his pride at this stage, if Ruby still insisted on expelling him, he had no more comments. He would completely silence her in his own way.
Ruby picked up her glass then took a sip of her wine. "Because you've already sat down, there's nothing else I can do." Ruby put the glass back elegantly.
Vidrian laughed. Not in vain to be a little shameless, his inner self. "In the end you just have to pay me with this little thing. Isn't that what you wanted? Small things that are not troublesome?" abugn.
"It looks like you misunderstood something" Ruby said. "I don't hate troublesome things, I hate troublesome people."
"Goodoo. Fortunately, I'm not a troublesome person."
Ruby's lips twitched. Could this man be even more shameless? He had seen many shameless people throughout his life, but Vidrian was at a level where it was already untreatable.
Seeing that the meat on Ruby's plate was only slightly reduced, Vidrian spoke up, "Why don't you continue eating? I'm just sitting, not gonna bother."
Ruby took a long breath. "I can't fix a broken appetite." Same with 'it's your fault, you son of a bitch!'
"Is it because of me?" ask Vidrian. He was quite self-conscious Ruby was insinuating him. But since it was already like this, he would become even more shameless. Ruby did not respond, she continued. "But that's impossible, right? I am a civilized and dignified man. Do I need to feed you?"
"You silent? Do you agree I'm feeding you?" Vidrian opened his voice again, urging Ruby to answer. Although he already knew what the answer was, whether it was a slap or a water flush, but just because of the risk, he would not back down.
Ruby took out her fork then pressed it slowly on Vidrian's hand. It wasn't hard, but it was quite painful. "Have I ever said if you're an asshole?" whispered. In addition to performing his actions under the table, he also lowered his voice. He didn't want Xavier and Sean to know what he was doing and hear what he was saying.
Vidrian paused for a moment as pain slowly gathered in his hand. Risks like this, did not occur in his mind. He thought at worst he would be slapped or doused in water, but of the two possibilities, nothing happened. Instead, he gets a prick from the fork that Ruby used to pierce meat on his plate.
That woman, very cruel.
Really cruel.
Even in front of the children, even though they clearly did not see it, Ruby actually dared to do it.
But strangely, Vidrian did not shout, his facial expression was even the same. That made him think he was crazy. Being injured to this extent but not fighting back? More than that, he enjoyed it a little.
Maybe he was crazy. No. gabe. He's totally crazy. But, what else could make him interact a little longer with Ruby? If with this Ruby is willing to talk to him, he is willing to willingly surrender himself to be hurt.
Moments later Vidrian chimed in, "I'm an asshole. But I'm not a crazy bastard. I'm a serious bastard."
Seeing how Vidrian's expression had not changed after what he did, Ruby pulled her fork and put it away. "You're a crazy bastard, you know!" He glanced at Vidrian's hand, and the scar he had inflicted might have been quite painful. Surprisingly, is Vidrian always like this if harmed by beautiful women? Not fighting? And always hold it?
Damnit.
Ruby forgot that bastards are bastards.
No matter how long time passes, no matter how much civilization changes, the innate character that is already attached to the blood vessels, it is impossible to disappear as easily as removing stains on clothes. Even after eight years had passed, Vidrian remained unchanged. He was and always has been a wrong man.
"Yes if you want to think of me that way. Now it doesn't matter if I'm a crazy bastard or a serious bastard, I just want to ask, You already know if Savana is my daughter, what do you think of her? Isn't she a sweet and brave girl? He insists on helping your struggling son" Vidrian said as he moved his numb hand.
There were blood dots left over from the prick Ruby did, and the power Ruby used might be equivalent to the maximum human bite force, around 170 psi. Hard enough and, yes, it hurts. But should he complain?
Why should he?
Ruby will think she's weak if she just grumbles.
Whereas if it was someone else, he would have gotten rid of it mercilessly. But again, the story is different if the culprit is Ruby. No matter how much crazy things Ruby does, as much as that will give her tolerance.
