Only I Love
Chapter 60

The two prospective parents were stunned to hear the question the doctor had just asked.

"Some time ago, we did an additional examination based on the results of the tests and scans performed. The results indicate a condition that needs to be considered" the doctor said in a serious voice.

Ala and Rafatar looked at each other, worry running through their faces. They waited tensely to hear the next explanation.

The doctor continued, "In the scans, we found abnormalities in the structure of the baby's heart that can affect his heart function after birth. We recommend that you consult a pediatric heart specialist to find out more about this condition."

Ala and Rafatar were devastated by the news. They hold hands, seeking strength and support from each other.

"Doctors, does this mean our baby will have heart problems all his life?" ala asked with a trembling voice.

The doctor replied gently, "This condition requires further evaluation and proper treatment. Despite the potential for heart problems, with good care, many children can live a good quality of life. I'll refer you to an experienced pediatric heart specialist to provide further treatment and advice."

Unstoppable sadness now afflicts the two pairs of eyes staring at the doctor in the hope that the obstetrician is wrong in giving a diagnosis.

"We will move to another specialist who can give more accurate results," asked Rafatar turning the steering wheel left the clinic earlier.

Then, the luxury car they were riding in turned into another specialist gynecology clinic.

After carrying out the examination, Ala and Rafatar sat in the waiting room of the clinic, waiting for the results of the USG examination with a thumping feeling. They hold hands in the arms of Rafatar, there is a mixed feeling of remembering the results of the examination earlier.

"Darling, you need to calm down? Let our son be calm in there, too." Rafatar strengthens his wife who looks upset.

"So, if the doctor this time gave the same answer how?" ala asked with a sad look.

Ala nodded with a sense of shouldering herself in the arms of her husband. "Makasi yes Uda. Thank God, I am so grateful to have Uda as my husband."

Rafatar chuckles. "You can just. Later in the night I'll give you a special gift to make sure you can't sleep until morning" she said.

Ala put on a manyun face pinched her husband's waist to a keenness.

Soon, their focus shifted as the door to the USG room opened and a doctor came out. His face looked serious and attentive. The doctor sat in front of the couple, taking a deep breath before speaking.

"In the results of the USG we did, we found some indications of a condition that requires serious attention" said the doctor gently.

The hue of the face that was cheerful, now changed exactly as when the first result was. Ala and Rafatar looked at the doctor with unspoken feelings of anxiety.

"From the results of the USG, we see there are structural abnormalities in the organs of the fetus. There are indications of problems in the heart and nervous system that affect the development of the child," explains the doctor carefully.

Ala felt her chest become tight. Tears began to flood his eyes, while Rafatar tried to stay calm and firm for the sake of his wife and child.

The doctor continued his explanation, "In addition, we also see stunted fetal growth. This indicates an intrauterine growth problem that could have an impact on a child's health and development later."

Ala and Rafatar looked at each other, shocked and sad. They were trying to digest the information they had just received. It was news they never expected much less they expected.

"Let's talk more about the options and the next steps that can be taken" the doctor said in a soft voice. "We will conduct additional tests and provide the support and care necessary to help children and families deal with this condition."

Ala rubbed the tears flowing down her cheeks. He looked at Rafatar with deep concern, while Rafatar gave a wry smile looking at his wife.
