Orsgadts

Orsgadts
Magical Book

News of Emune being visited by Voispir spread to all the members of the entourage. Emune can't do anything. Every day he had to repeat the same story about his life story, of course he closed his history as the heir of Orsgadt.

At breakfast in the dining room, alone with Lord Berham because Ronald and Fiona had breakfast with a group of merchants who were leaving this morning, Lord Berham praised his bravery for making it out of the transitional world created by Voispir.

"Only the strong-hearted can pass through. You're not an ordinary girl. You've got quality," praised Lord Berham.

Emune grimacing. It was fortunate that he was looking down so his face was invisible to the nobleman. "I think I'm just a little bit lucky" Emune said.

"Little? It's bullshit! Meeting Voispir takes more than luck."

Emune's quiet. The words of Lord Berham have a point. If there wasn't an emerald necklace, I would've died.

"You're going to Eimersun, I heard from Ronald. Much better than Alder. Hmmm ... Arrand usually stops at a small inn on the outskirts of Orsgadt. If you leave tomorrow, you can find him there" said Lord Berham.

"really?" ask Emune enthusiastically. He is actually playing a show. He doesn't want to see Arrand because he has to go to Orsgadt, no matter what. “Fiona said that we should leave this afternoon to reach Nogg in the afternoon.  We have to avoid travel at night because the robbers are getting fiercer.”

“Yes. The robbers seemed to be very good at covering their tracks. I can have a knight guard you until Nogg or Darfin,” Lord Berham offers.

“Thank you for your kindness but we don't want to trouble.”

“What is this special trip of the girls?” ask Lord Berham. He smiles.

Emune smiled sweetly. “It looks like so. You know, this is my first trip. Fiona is like the older sister I've always wanted since childhood. The journey of the girls, seeing the vast outside world. Isn't that fun?”

The nobleman laughed crisply. “Good. I don't think there will be a transverse plane that can dampen your spirit to adventure. Stay careful and remember, you can come back and stay here anytime you want.”

“Thank you for the kindness of my Lord,” Emune said.

The breakup finally happened. All the members of the merchant entourage led by Ronald left for Alder this morning in addition to Fiona and Emune. Ronald told Fiona many times to answer “I know”.

Fiona looks sewot because Ronald is like telling a small child who will get lost if not accompanied by an adult. Ronald eventually hugs Fiona and Emune alternately as a sign of separation. A hard journey will be undertaken by each from now on.

Before leaving the Berham residence, Lord Berham insisted on taking Fiona and Emune to his library. Fiona refused subtly because she was not interested in reading books. Eventually only Emune followed Lord Berham to the third floor of the castle.

Emune's legs trembled as he climbed the stairs. The shadow of the incident when Emilia and Nania, her daughter who was just a few days old, were massacred at Orsgadt's palace made her nauseous and limp. He blinked his eyes and struggled to strengthen the hand that supported his body.

They arrived at the library. Emune was amazed when she realized she was surrounded by so many books. The third floor seemed to be devoted to the library.

The towering bookshelves touched the ceilings on all sides of the room and the shorter shelves, more than two meters away, lined up neatly to the right of a large table surrounded by twelve high-backed chairs. Near the door was a row of glass cabinets showing off high-quality art objects. Of course Emune knew mostly because his head had been crammed by Urndie's knowledge since childhood.

“Come, Son,” call Lord Berham when you see Emune will be sitting on one of the chairs, still with his head looking up and his mouth gaping.

“Ba-okay, Tuanku,” sahut Emune stuttered.

The bookcase is in the back corner of the room. Lord Berham took a thick book and then two more and three more that he passed on to Emune. Emune was overwhelmed because the books were so heavy. Rather than books, they looked more like finely carved stones so heavy, Emune thought. Emune put the books on another empty shelf.

A metal lever was clearly visible now. With one pull. Lord Berham made the lever shift forward from its place, the nobleman then pushed the bookshelf until a gap was seen and widened.

“Gosh ...” his Emune.

“Follow me,” Lord Berham's orders.

Lord Berham walked gallantly in a small passageway that was about three meters long. He stopped in the middle of the room, faced the right wall and pressed against the wall. There was no sign of a secret button but the pressed part of the wall moved backwards.

Lord Berham stretched out his hand to the right in the hole and took out an untitled dark brown-coated book and handed it to Emune. The book cover was made of thick leather. Not heavy at all. “Read,” says Lord Berham.

“Books Of Wise.” Emune can read it. Then what else?

“Try reading first page.” Lord Berham observed the mysterious girl before him.

“Only those who have the courage and determination deserve to be rulers. The welfare of the people is the main goal that should not be ignored.” Emune stared at the writing carefully.

“I thought you could read old words,” said Lord Berham.

“I studied in Ulrych. Little.” Emune returns the old book to its owner.

Lord Berham the mangosteen, preoccupied with his own thoughts. Lord Berham took Emune back to the library. Emune took the five books he had placed on an empty shelf and returned them to their original place. The small room had been perfectly closed and no one would know if there was a secret room there.

“You've heard stories from the past? Fairy, dragon, witch?” ask the nobleman.

“I've heard but didn't read it myself.”

“Alright, there is one book that will be your travel companion later. Where did I put it? Well here it is. Emune, this book is for you. Hope you like it. Save and read it carefully.” Lord Berham handed Emune a book.

“For me?” Emune held the little book happily. His smile grew and his eyes shone. The book was only a quarter the size of the other books, not too thick and could be put into his small bag. Emune felt that his treasure had increased by another one with the book. “Thank you, Mr.”

“Emune, this book is only for you. Don't mention it to anyone else,” Lord Berham's message in a serious tone.

“Good, Milord.” Emune nodded slowly.

“I can do it while closing my eyes,” Fiona boasted while chuckling.

“Do not do that. Danger!” Emune's worried, worried they're fucked.

“Ya .. yes, Miss who Always Lives Safely. You're right, security number one. By the way, what book does Lord Berham show?”

Can he tell Fiona? Just Fiona doesn't feel like a problem. Fiona won't tell anyone. Emune undoes her intention to tell Fiona because she remembers Lord Berham's message. Actually he was upset because this was the second time he was told to keep something secret.

“You won't believe it. The third floor contained all the books. All sorts of books. I think it took me hundreds of years to read it,” replied Emune.

“Ha-ha-ha .. therefore I do not want to go there. You know, I'm not the kind of book fan,” said Fiona.

“Then what fan are you? Wine, wine and beer?” goda Emune's.

Fiona elbowed Emune. “That's number one. You should try it. Come on, grown-up girl drinking wine and beer. One sip if you're a beginner. Don't let people see you as too innocent and take advantage of it.”

“Hmmm ... Is it like?”

“Yes. This world we're in is wild and dangerous, Emune. A little bit of a fuss can save you. I had an unpleasant incident with the foul-smelling, foul-mouthed men with no one to protect. You've seen my daggers. They take care of me. Then Arrand and Ronald rescued me from the slave trade at Tragrent.”

“Tragrent? It's the northern end of Arsyna. You're from there?” ask Emune.

“Hey, you seem to have memorized the territory of Arsyna. For the size of the girl who has never been anywhere, it is amazing.”

“I have a friend who is very clever and since childhood has been taught various things. Tragrent, a line of hills north of Arsyna bordered the Imperia region. The wild area is called the most terrible place in Arsyna. His Majesty the King once cleared the region but like mushrooms the criminals sprung up again.”

“Wow, that's absolutely right. You're terrific. Yes, I'm stuck there but my origin is Imperia.”

“You're from Imperia?” ask Emune astonished. Imperia is a rich kingdom and its people are very prosperous. How did Fiona get stuck in Arsyna?

“Yes. I was a child when my parents traveled to Arsyna to develop a jewelry business but when Orsgadt changed kings, there was chaos. Our company was robbed and both of my parents died. I managed to escape and fight for life while looking for a way back to Imperia.” Fiona smiled smirkily.

“I'm sorry,” said Emune sadly. “You made it back to Imperia? Your family isn't looking for you?” Emune.

“Many things happen. It took three more years to return to Imperia. When I got there, all my parents' property was taken over by the city lord and I was expelled. The family that used to flatter Mom and Dad turned to hate me. None of them bother to take care of me. I decided to live my own way and go around Artamea.” Fiona did not regret her decision. He even thanked her.

“Oh, Fiona .. You're a child. Your family is so hearty.”

“Hahaha, there you go!” said Fiona getir. “I grudged them at first, but life had its own way of twisting the situation. They have suffered a setback in business. In fact they had been the prey of the city lord from the very beginning. When all their treasures were depleted, they were also expelled from the city. About the next five years, I had joined Arrand's entourage at that time, I found some of them were begging in Arsyna and could only give just a donation.”

“Gruesome!” Emune could not and did not want to imagine the hardships of living like that.

“Do not think. My life is much better now. How are you yourself? Start homesick, peaceful Ulrych?”

“Yes, I miss everyone. You must think I'm flabby.”

“Soft? Not at all. I live on the streets because I had to but you left a place as peaceful as Ulrych, that's amazing.”

“Do you think we can meet Arrand later?” ask Emune.

“We'll see later. Just relax.”

“Will you teach me how to control this horse carriage? I thought if I could, I'd like to replace you once in a while so you can rest.” According to Emune, all kinds of skills must be mastered while he can.

“Good thoughts. For today, just look at it first. We can't be late until Nogg.”

“Ya, I agree.”

The horse-drawn carriage continued to move forward. There were no sights other than the bushes, grasslands and hills they encountered along the way. Emune pulls out a book given by Lord Berham. The dark blue cover is very soft and flawless.

Emune opened the book, right on the first page. Instantly a cold wave enveloped the carriage, dust swirled upward. Fiona pulled the reins of the horses neighing and kicking in surprise. Just a minute later everything came back to how it was. Fiona went down to calm the horses that were raging.

Emune extended both her hands with a small book that opened above her palm to Fiona who had just placed her butt on the bench sais.

“What?” ask Fiona. “You want some food? It's in the back. Do not hesitate, just take as you like,” he said and began to command the horses to continue the journey.

He wiggles the book in front of Fiona's face. Fiona pushed Emune's hand.

“Emune, your hands cover my view. We can be wretched!” annoyed.

“Sorry,” says Emune.

Fiona can't see this book! Am I the only one who can see it? This must be a magic book. Why did Lord Berham give it to me? Ben Emune was full of questions.

“Sit quietly in the back. We need to move faster. If you're not busy, read a poem or tell me something interesting,” pinta Fiona.

Emune liked the idea. He immediately went to the back and leaned his back comfortably. Emune opened the book again but this time no cold wave came. A smile adorned Emune's face as he flipped through the pages of the book happily. O Magic Book, tell me all the secrets you have!
