Hearing Greg's warning, Alfred immediately drew his sword, as did Elric, Aiden and Sean. Emune pulls out her dagger but Elric tells her to run towards the forest and hide behind the bushes.
"Remember, whatever happens, stay hidden. I'll look for you" said Elric. He kissed Emune on the forehead and told him to leave immediately. Emune doesn't want to leave but Elric is very firm and pushy.
Emune realized there was nothing she could do to help. Despite learning to use a weapon, he is unlikely to win against a trained assassin. With teary eyes Emune ran to the edge of the forest. He found the right bushes to hide and observed the situation ahead.
“I'll find you, Emune. Sure!” elric said slowly and firmly. Her jaw hardened imagining something happening to her lover. Before that, I must survive first. Wait for me, Amune!
As Greg said, the black horde came only a short while after Emune arrived at the edge of the forest. Thirteen people, count Emune. He was anxious to see his lover and friends who were going to fight with those people.
Alfred dodged the large axe that swung towards him. He jumped onto the knee of his large high attacker, then with a single puncture managed to knock him out. Not waiting to be attacked, Alfred mercilessly thrust his sword into the next villain.
Greg who fought with the sword and dagger had also crippled two people. He immediately helps Fiona who is surrounded by three criminals.
"Coward! I'm your opponent!" greg yelled as he rampaged to snatch his sword and throw his dagger. Two attackers fell to the ground. Fiona finished the third.
"You okay?" ask Greg.
"It's okay." Fiona is more worried about Emune than she is.
Elric, Aiden and Sean managed to defeat their opponents quickly. Of the thirteen people now only four remain.
Emune almost cheered seeing them almost win. He fell silent as a voice rebuked him. "What are you doing here?"
Emune was surprised when he turned his head and saw that the one reprimanding him was a little girl in a gray hood. His face was only partially visible under the moonlight. What is this little girl doing here?
Emune was about to talk to the little girl but her tail caught a movement coming from the west. A member of the mob looked at the little girl and was approaching with a drawn sword. Emune pecked for a moment. That guy's getting closer.
Greg throws his dagger at the villain who is now heading towards Emune's place. That guy can dodge. There's no more time.
"Proner!" Greg shouted with all the force of his lungs.
A shadow moved from the edge of the forest not so far away from Emune. Emune gasped as someone passed him. A man in a black hood darted towards the villain who lived a few meters away from where Emune stood.
Instead of pulling out his own sword, the man punched the criminal in the hand, grabbed his sword and with a single slash managed to chop off his head. His head first fell to the ground followed by his body thumping violently.
Emune was shocked to see the horrific event. He shouted hysterically calling Horeen. "Horien!"
Horeen came from the north. It shook the earth and split the ground through it and reached near Emune. Even though the Horeen had stopped, the land still continued to split. The foreign man jumped up and landed on the same side as Emune. The ground still continued to split to the south with a terrifying cracking sound.
Elric and the others were almost there but the earthquake and the crack of the earth made their horses retreat in fear.
"Emun!" shouted Elric. He will jump over the ravine with Draxe but is stopped by Alfred.
"The cracks are still moving! The danger!" scream Alfred.
Fiona got off the horse and sat limp on the ground. "Emune," he murmured.
Greg approached Fiona and hugged her. "We'll find a way there. It's okay, there's Proner there."
Sean walked towards the crack. The torch in his hand only illuminated the surface of the crack. A wide and deep gorge had formed in an instant. The ravine separates the human world from the Dumina Forest.
"What the fuck was that?" ask Sean. Just this time there was an earthquake that big and weird.
"Horeen?” ask Aiden. He felt left out of the news because he did not know who Horeen was referring to.
"The unlucky bearer. Emune's friend," replied Elric. He was still limp because he was separated from Emune. They had just met and separated in a terrible way.
"What's? Damn bearers?" ask Sean.
"Emune's story, he's been following you since he came out of Galvey. He slammed us in the fight first." Elric felt his chest hurt a lot. He was worried about Emune.
Alfred breathed. Rumbling in the distance indicates the crack is still ongoing. He does not want them to be wretched because of rashness. They have to be patient a little.
"Who's Proner?" ask Alfred.
Greg sighed. "The wanderer in charge of protecting Emune."
Elric glares. What else is that? He is upset that Emune is now far away from him and is with humans and fairies whom he does not know.
Greg helped Fiona sit quietly on the grass. He's still in shock.
"Proner is convinced that he was indeed assigned to guard Emune. He followed us but I told him to keep his distance. Horeen, why would she obey Emune?" ask Greg to Elric.
"Emune wants to help him break free from the curse. He is going to Onykz to ask for help on Olevander,” replied Elric.
"Hmmm, right then Emune asked me about Olevander and Orsgadt." Greg remembered very well when Emune asked first.
"Why not tell me?" ask Fiona annoyed. "That little troll is really driving me crazy. Greg, we have to save him."
"I thought he was just asking." Greg stroked Fiona's head to make it a little calmer. “We'll save him. Sure.”
All fell silent to regulate their emotions and energy. The horrible night is repeated. This time Emune was the victim.
"I don't understand. Who told Proner to look after Emune?" ask Aiden.
"A fortune teller. I laughed at him at first but it proved he was reliable." Greg doesn't doubt Proner's shrewdness.
"Yes, from his movements it seems he is very well trained. We wait for the light of day and find our way there." Alfred walked towards his horse
A cold wind suddenly enveloped the place. A thin mist rose from the ground and filled the area around the ravine. They were all shocked because there was a white-haired girl walking past them, continuing towards the abyss.
"I'll give you a sign that they're safe" the girl said without stopping.
Sean and Aiden run to prevent him from reaching the brink but the girl easily slides over him and disappears into the darkness.
"Who is that girl?" ask Sean.
"W-Did he fall?" ask Aiden.
No one could answer because the girl had appeared out of nowhere and had suddenly crossed the abyss unseen. Everyone sat down on the grass feeling upset, angry and sad. Emune is now across there without them.
A few moments later from a distant place appeared a small yellow red dot that enlarged and moved to form a circle. Fire circle, the sign of the strange girl earlier. They were relieved, at least Emune survived.
