The meadow in front of Erreandrey's palace this morning is again covered by thousands of giant butterflies. Emune loved this view. He was not long out of Ulrych but a lot happened. With all the bad things, he considers it part of the ordeal of the journey and all the good things are his balancing act.
His friends are ready. Leonz's mother moves her hands and makes magical protectors for Emune and Proner. The presence of ordinary humans could bring about a stir in the Dumina Forest so they had to be hidden.
Erreandrey hugged Leonz and kissed her forehead. His little daughter is now going on a dangerous journey when she is still very young. There was no reason to keep him in the Dumina Forest. All the descendants of Hertena were fairies with extraordinary abilities. Especially Leonz, he is a candidate for Olevander so he must fight in order to survive alone in two worlds.
Leonz did not cry at all. He hugged his mother and promised to return. She skillfully made a beautiful bracelet from wild flowers and gave it to her mother. When the bracelet was worn by Erreandrey, the wildflower array turned into light and disappeared, what was left behind was a blue-colored figure glowing like a coil of tendrils.
"Mom knows. Go, you can handle anything." Once again Erreandrey kissed his daughter's forehead. Leonz smiles.
The strange little group then departed. Leonz, Emune and Proner ride Leon the black lion. Proner had protested and wanted to be escorted by horse only but Emune did not agree. With Leon they can get there faster. The Proner grimaced, all his gloom sinking in the exclaims of Leonz and Emune.
Avena and Horeen were following behind in a gliding race. None of them want to be behind the others. Horeen who is still in light protection is very happy because there is no misfortune around her. It means he can walk with them without worry.
Avena did not like it, not because of the pesky carrier Horeen but because the elf could read her mind. Avena darted and sat behind Proner with her back against each other. Horeen is furious, he tries to join but Leon kicks him with his back foot because he doesn't want any more passengers. Avena laughed out loud while Horeen who was bouncing far away cried out in anger.
"This is unfair!“ horeen Protest.
Leon runs very fast and jumps very far. In a somewhat bright part of the forest, the black lion lowered its speed and started walking.
"Why did Leon stop running?" ask Emune.
"We reached the territory of the Harness fairies. They will influence your thoughts and invite you to live in the forest" Leonz replied.
"That's it?" ask Avena.
"After three nights of consuming the light of your life, they will burn you in a giant bonfire" Leonz replied.
"Ha! I've guessed. Nothing is normal about this forest. Strange animals that are too big, monstrous supernatural creatures and crazy witches." Proner nagged himself.
"Proner, shut up" said Leonz half-noisy. "Remember, don't serve them. Look straight ahead."
"How about Avena and Horeen?" ask Emune worried.
"Avenas may be slightly affected if the human blood is thicker. Avena, your human mother or father?" ask Leonz.
"My father," Avena answered briefly.
"good. Female fairy offspring are very strong, we'll be fine" said Leonz optimistically.
"Proner," call Emune.
Proner's approaching. He avoided as much as possible the legs of the black lion that kicked him.
"If you see me and Proner are weird, wake us up" Emune ordered.
Horeen clutched Proner's shoulder and shook his head while saying in a flat tone, "Wake up, get up, get up," then slapped Proner's face.
"What the fuck?" Proner pulled Horeen's ear in annoyance.
"Hey, you're noisy!" Leonz told everyone to shut up.
"For me he's weird" Horeen said casually and then immediately shot up. He prefers to be at high altitude. Avena followed in the footsteps of Horeen. Up here everything looks clearer.
"Why do Harness fairies see us when we wear light armor?" ask Proner.
"Oh, they're special. They do not see your true being but the light of your life and no protector of light can fool them except …."
"Except?" emune and Proner asked half a whisper.
"The light protector of the fairy king," replied Leonz seriously.
Emune turned his head for a moment to the edge of the forest. He glared in wonder. Elric was there!
"Elric!" shout Emune. He tried to get off Leon's back. The Proner restrains Emune's body.
"Emune, it's not real. It's just an illusion and …." Proner's speech stopped. A beautiful woman emerged from the trees. The woman smiled at Proner. "Mother!" shouted Proner. The handle on Emune slipped off. Both fell off Leon's back.
Leonz patted both cheeks and shouted to Proner and Avena. The two darted snatching Emune and Proner then sat them on Leon's back before they ran chasing each other's illusions to the edge of the forest.
After a few hundred meters, Leon ran back. The territory of the Harness elves was an extremely dangerous territory. Anything can happen at that distance. Leonz is relieved, he alone may not be able to help Emune and Proner, fortunately there are Avena and Horeen.
"Everything we'll meet, Leonz? It is better to be prepared if there will be a storm" Proner said.
"There's no storm but there's a sea of fire ahead and Leon has to get back to my cabin."
"Link of fire?" Emune tried to remember. "I've only heard of it from Horeen," murmured Emune.
"of course. No human has escaped one-third of the Dumina Forest" Horeen said. "Leonz can handle it. Don't you think, Leonz?"
"Yes but after that you and Avena have to find a way to cross the desert. Oh yeah, the light shields will be lost at the end of the Dumina Forest so you better keep your distance" Leonz reminded.
"I know" said Horeen. He soared up high near Avena.
"I don't know what their plan is. We should have a meeting first. How about screwed up later?" Proner protested again. As an ordinary human who had no magical power he was certainly worried about his life and Emune.
"Proner, you're worried a lot, aren't you? There's nothing we can do." Emune the head bobble.
They arrived near the sea of fire. From below it did look like a wall of fire but to Avena and Horeen who were looking from above, it was truly like a sea of fire. The two fairies looked around. The sea of fire extends far apart the forest area with the desert.
The desert in front of them was vast, the wind forming a pattern of winding lines on the sand. There is no oasis in the desert. Hopefully Avena can protect Emune and Proner with the ice power she has, Horeen thought.
Leon stopped just a few meters away from the fire tongue dance. Everybody down and pat Leon on the back. The black lion looked sad as Leonz stroked his mane. His task was done and he had to return to Erreandrey's cottage soon. With a deafening roar of farewell, he turned around and immediately vanished from sight.
"Does he have to roar that loud?" ask Avena. The human part of him could not accept the power of Leon's voice earlier.
"He's the king of the forest and the guardian of the fairies so it's his custom to keep everyone away and not stop him." Leonz smiles.
"Then why is she even walking in the territory of the fairy Harness?" ask Proner.
"The Harness fairies are very aggressive. If Leon darted in their territory, the elves would not hesitate to pull Emune and Proner into their territory."
"Well, Leon is amazing" Emune said.
"Come, we have to cross" Leonz said. The little boy blew away the blue powder he had taken out of a small bag. "And the sea of fire is split for good people" he said.
Emune and Proner were amazed to see that the sea of fire was completely split and even more astonished because in the part that was split looked fresh grass that was not affected by the heat of the fire. Leonz precedes the run. The power of the powder was not long. Emune and Proner follow him. Because Leonz's steps were short, in an instant he was overtaken. Proner grabbed Leonz and ran while carrying him.
Emune looked back. The road began to narrow behind him and then closed. He increased his running speed. Proner and Leonz who had reached the end were worried and yelled at him to run faster. Emune's sweat was flowing. He once ran but not this fast especially with the threat of fire behind him as it is today.
A little more, Emune murmured inwardly. A little more fire behind him would strike, Emune set his foot firmly and then jumped. It landed right outside the sea of fire. I survived, thankfully in my heart while trying to calm her intense heartbeat. Leonz hugged her.
"It's okay. Well, this is the first time I've run that fast."
"You're so great" praised Leonz.
"Thank you, Leonz" said Emune. He raised his head to look towards Avena and Horeen. "How's next?" ask Emune.
"Rather than walking and draining Avena's energy, we'll fly. Emune and Leonz come with me, Proner, you're with Avena."
"Why am I with Avena?" ask Proner.
Avena glared and her mouth gaping. "You'd rather go with that weird elf than me being sexy?"
"I mean ...."
No one wants to listen to Proner's complaint. Horeen had already darted away while holding Emune and Leonz. You little boy, Horeen thought as Leonz exclaimed in joy. He glared at Emune as the girl joined in exclaiming happily.
"What?" asked Emune who caught Horeen's strange gaze.
"A princess should not shout. We're on a dangerous mission, not sightseeing."
"Horeen, I've never been on an adventure so please understand that I'm a little crazy and weird" Emune tried to quibble.
Horeen just grinned. He looked back and stopped suddenly. Back there, like the dance scene in the palace hall, Proner and Avena were hovering while hugging. Proner seemed forced to hug Avena tightly for fear of falling over the desert and dying, while Avena seemed to enjoy it. Flirtatious chick, horeen grunts in heart.
"Stop messing around! We need to get out of here. The night in the desert is not safe" he said.
"Hahaha, don't worry. Proner likes it, don't you think?" ask Avena in a flirtatious tone.
"Hahaha, b-what do you think?" The prisoner asked back. He just wants to get there quickly. First ride Leon, then fly with Avena. Ah, it seems that my suffering is still long, he lamented inwardly.
Horeen was upset because the trip was hampered. He immediately traded Leonz for Proner and then darted away. Avena and Leonz looked confused. Both then smiled. Journey continued. A little more they will arrive at the end of the desert.
Avena and Leonz are a compatible flying couple. They swirled around floating while laughing happily. Emune wanted to join but Horeen had already glared first. Emune laughed amusedly at the sleeping Proner when they were flying high. He finally chose to open the Book of Wisdom.
"The sea of fire was a fire fairy who was cast out, right?" ask Emune to Horeen.
"Yes" answered Horeen.
"You made a ravine on the edge of the Dumina Forest, you won't be punished for that?" ask Emune.
"No. Who told me to curse like that? It's not my fault."
Emune's attention was distracted by something down there. "Oh! Horeen, take a look down there!" exciting Emune.
Horeen looked down. A meandering river formed following the movements of the Horeen.
"I have made a ravine, uprooted the trees and now there is a river below. Then why?" ask Horeen.
"That's a miracle." Emune. He slapped Proner on the cheek but the man did not react at all.
Horeen grunted in annoyance. "I'm sick of miracles. The sooner this curse is gone, the better."
Emune was about to say something but he paused. He can't talk carelessly. Horeen must have gone through a lot of hardships because of the curse. Just as Avena or Proner carried the burden of her parents' deaths, so did herself. Leonz too, although still a child, the heavy burden of the candidate Olevander was on his hands.
"Yes, I think it's the best" Emune said.
Horeen took a cursory look and knew Emune was thinking about something. As a fairy, she had no interest in human affairs. Only because he was cursed did he wander in an uncertain direction at Artamea. Of the many humans, only Emune said he wanted to help her, even though he himself had a heavy burden on his shoulders. Great girl, he thought.
Horeen's attention was distracted by Proner who slept while muttering. He was surprised this one human could sleep soundly while flying this fast. I want it to feel like Horeen took Proner down a little bit so that his ass was burned by the heat of the sand down there but he just gave a silly grin. He was happy because the green land was near and after that he could meet Olevander.
