I was still grumbling when I got out of the elevator. I don't know why I keep scapegoating Hengky behind the strange feeling I'm feeling. I don't want to feel anything troublesome like this and Hengky is an easy target to be my emotional samsak.
But when my footsteps reached the rooftop, my emotions were very volatile. Rooftop atmosphere in the morning successfully pamper the eyes. The vines located under the chairs and tables make the rooftop garden seem cooler naturally. Roof blinds that can be opened and closed electronically, add a modern impression but still cool to the eye.
Ornamental plants in neatly arranged commensurate with the arrangement of tables and chairs and also carpets that are in harmony, all white. Floors made of wood floors successfully add to the impression of more cool. In the corner, there is a luxurious Jacuzzi surrounded by plants that make me automatically imagine a small river in the middle of the grass when I was at my grandmother's house first.
To be honest, I'm kind of creepy seeing a jacuzzi like this in a rooftop. Who do I think would want to soak up here? What if you are soaking in the heat of the water and then suddenly someone comes in? It's impossible to soak in a jacuzzi wearing full clothes, isn't it?
My mind is starting to get messed up again. Arroggh...!
I walked towards the guardrail filled with vines. The spacious garden surrounding the Hengky house is clearly visible from above. Closing my eyes, I inhaled in the morning air that felt fresher today. Yes, this air carried a little strange thoughts that had been lurking in my ears away.
“This is the first time we both went upstairs huh?” hengky's voice was already behind me.
I gasped, hurriedly nodding. I reflexively took a few steps away from her as Hengky walked over.
“I rarely go up here. Although I know this park is beautiful, but if only alone every day, it feels even painful.”
No answer from my mouth. My eyes just kept stealing glances at the jacuzzi.
“Any ya there jacuzzi there?” Hengky's gaze followed the direction of my eyes.
Ah, goddamn. I'm caught again.
“K-you don't think weird yeah!” pretext me rush.
“Indeed who thinks weird?” ask Hengky confused.
Oh, my God, I'm dead.
Realizing that I was getting more wrong behavior made Hengky immediately understand the situation. He laughed and faced me, facing me,
“Jeez, Babe. What did you eat wrong yesterday? How to be weird gini?”
The question and the sound of Hengky's laughter made me feel wrong. I turned my face away, hiding a face hue that must be very red at the moment.
Look, I told you my body was gonna embarrass itself.
“Mami deliberately designed the rooftop with a comfortable and slightly intimate atmosphere. He plans to build a complete rooftop with a jacuzzi to improve his marriage relationship with Papi.”
Hengky sighed heavily, “Unfortunately, whatever Mami did could not make Papi come back. Mami finally followed Papi's steps to find happiness that he did not get here. They were busy looking for happiness as if I were an invisible being to them. And here I am, a lonely child, a child who is always alone.”
“You're not really alone, honey. You just pull away, shut down all access to your life. I'm curious, why don't you ever invite your friends home?”
Hengky sighed again, “I find it hard to trust others, Naya. Everyone who approaches me always has a hidden purpose. It's always like that.”
“Not everyone, Dear.”.
“Yes. Except for you,” Hengky bowed, “and Brother Andy,” he added slowly.
“Andy?”
“He's really worried about me, Naya. Worrying about us.”
I frowned, “Worrying about us? Me and you? I'm sorry, honey, but I find it hard to trust that guy. Maybe for you he is a good brother, but for me.”.
Hengky immediately realized his mistake, he turned his head towards me, his facial expression looked worried, “Sorry, dear.
“He who ruined my life, Hengky!” Cut me quick. My voice sounded pressing. It was full of emotions that I had been keeping.
“Do not blame fate, dear. Something that will happen, no matter how well we try to prevent it, if it will happen, then it happens. You know, if it wasn't for that incident, maybe the two of us wouldn't be here, enjoying the morning air together, or just fussing about me being bare-chested.”
Hengky smiled at me while winking one eye. I knew he just wanted to take me on a joke, try to melt the mood. But the old wound was already back open, felt more and more painful even just by hearing his name.
“Tell me, how to make peace with painful reality?” I asked while looking deeply into his eyes.
“According to you the painful reality like for example Papiku is a gay and Mami who now has nowhere?” Hengky kept his smile.
“Or maybe the harsh reality that from the age of five I should be able to solve my problems alone? Or maybe with the fact that most of my family are non-Muslims, which would be a big barrier to our future relationship?”
“Hengky, i..”.
“Or the fact that it turned out that my lover's virginity was forcibly snatched by my cousin's sister?”
I looked at Hengky's face that was starting to turn red. The guilt made my chest feel tight.
Hengky smirked then threw his face back towards the garden,
“You know, Naya? It wasn't your loss of chastity that made me sick, but the fact that you kept being imprisoned in the cages of revenge and Andy's shadow that made my blood boil.”
