A few months passed, the God's vision ability decreased even more. Especially when the light intensity is too high. Only a speck of red could be caught by his eyes. Most of his activities now always involve and accompanied Deva.
Not the compassion underlying Deva always faithfully accompanied the God, but other flavors that do not know what his name is. He did not treat the gods like a sickle who all things must be helped. Not so. Deva simply directs and gets the Gods used to performing daily routines without relying on others. Blindness is expected to in no way remove the spirit of God to live his life.
"How, Dev? Is there any progress?" asked the God while taking off the black cloth that closed his eyes.
"Well done, sir. There are only three typos. I am getting more pro. It's cool, anyway." Deva gave praise to the results of typing God through a special laptop for the blind.
"Alhamdulillah. My eyes will no longer see. At least I still have no use being given a breath," muttered the God. Despite the shrillness, Deva could still hear him faintly.
"No one is born in this world without giving meaning to others. What has not happened, there is no need to worry too much. Especially as a burden. The power of God is real, behind the trials there is always a way out." Deva looked into the eyes of the God who was bowed while playing the blindfold that was still in his grasp.
"As long as there's you, I don't worry about anything, Dev. But I'm no longer a selfish person. There comes a time when you will get married and not work anymore. You have to focus on your family. Thank you so far for making me amazing."
Deva ventured to grab the hand of the God. What the man said made sense. However, marriage is definitely not a priority for Deva for now. He had completely surrendered to Divine destiny. When and with whom he will do so, there is absolutely no burden on his mind.
"And you too will get married. Although in front of the mirror maybe the chirping of the father is already seen faint in front of the eyes of the father himself, you must remember well as well as what this father is. As you have said before, who can resist the good looks and stability of a God."
"I don't doubt that at all, Dev. But it would be hard to get a truly sincere woman with my current condition. They accepted my establishment, not my whole situation. Never mind, don't talk about marriage. Oh, yes ... How's Dave doing? He still calls you a lot, right?" God patted the back of Deva's hand.
Deva's facial complexion changed immediately. The woman lowered her gaze while taking a slightly heavy breath. It's been almost two months, Dave hasn't sent him any news.
The gods seem to think. Although he could not clearly see the sadness on Deva's face. From the tone of voice when answering his question earlier, it was obvious that he felt some worry there. Then she recalled her last communication with Dave three months ago.
"It looks like Dave hasn't contacted Deva again? Has he found his family? Then what exactly happened?" The gods wondered in their hearts.
Meanwhile, in the other hemisphere, a man seemed to be cleaning the table of one of the fast food restaurants with an agile hand gesture. That figure is none other than Dave. Yes, his decision to continue his education abroad at a personal cost, requires him to work harder Dave is no longer the son of the wealthy Fira and Agas. Let alone to finance himself abroad as now, their property has been completely confiscated by the state.
After finishing his shift, Dave decides to return to the apartment he lives in with four other people. Of course, this is done to save on rental costs. Incidentally, two of them were from Indonesia.
"Dave! So take another job, no? This is my friend there's a vacancy at the club. Who knows you can adjust to your college schedule," asked a friend of Dave's named Dynasty.
"May .. seems like, I'll take a semester off as well. I need a lot of money for my mama's treatment." Dave said it with a glare like a daydreaming person.
"Why don't you just go back to Indonesia, Dave? At least you can practice there. Earnings must be good," said one of the other friends named Dirly.
Dave shook his head while smiling wryly. "No, I don't want to confuse someone and become overwhelmed by my family's circumstances. I don't want to bring him into my family who deserve this karma. He's too good, I don't want him to be pushed to help me. Either by reason of caring, love or just pity."
Dinasty patted Dave's shoulder. "Do what you think is best. We're just regular supports, Dave. Sorry could not help more materially. But I think I should keep calling Deva. Didn't you guys not have any commitments? So there's no reason for you to avoid it if you're just friends."
"I'll contact the gods first." Dave gave a faint smile at the end of his sentence.
