unfulfilled desire: pocong 1 part 5

Who would have thought that there was a dark story between Pocong 1 and the gendereduwo elders who had once been good friends and best friends? Alena really did not think that the story was true and the reason behind the separation was the bad deeds of the gendereduwo elders because they were crazy about the woman who should be the wife of Pocong 1 before death came to pick him up.

            Pocong 1 who had always hidden the reason he was trapped in Durawa cemetery even when someone offered to open the pocong rope from Pocong 1 was because of women. Surya died in the war in 1940, died as a valiant soldier for defending the homeland. Although it was just an ordinary soldier whose name was not even recorded in history, Surya was quite proud of his duties and work. In addition to all that, there is one reason why Surya is so proud of his work. The woman he loved was also very supportive of him. The woman, named Chandara, is two years younger than Surya and works as a nurse in a hospital. Surya and Chandara are like the sun and moon that complement each other. That is the picture of the love of both.

            A month before death picks up, Surya and Chandara make a promise that three months later they will marry and formalize a relationship that has been lived for several years. All preparations have been prepared by the two families, unfortunately .. two months before the wedding, Surya died in the war that followed.

            Failing to get married and leaving Chandara two months before their wedding, it becomes one of the tragedies in Surya's life and the tragedy continues to follow Surya to death. Because it was too sad and too hit with the sudden death of Surya, one of the people who buried Surya forgot to release the pocong rope in Surya's shroud and make Surya become a ghost.

            “Don't you want me to take off your pocong rope? I'll take off your pocong rope and make you calm in the grave.”

One of the durawapati never offered it to Surya. But Surya rejected the offer with little hope: the hope of meeting his lover in the realm of death or at least seeing his lover buried in the same cemetery. That hope came to pass a few years later. Chandara, who had devoted himself as a nurse after losing Surya, eventually died in the same way as Surya: dead in the war.

            The desire that made Surya trapped in Durawa cemetery finally granted and for a moment ... Surya can meet the spirit of Chandara. But the tragedy of life and death to Surya is repeated. The genderuwo elder who became Surya's best friend in the realm of death, fell in love with Chandara's spirit and brought Chandara's spirit into his den. Since then ... Surya as the 1st pocong attempts to reclaim the spirit of his lover but the attempt always ends in failure. Since then, a ban has emerged in which all ghosts who used to be able to visit the genderuwo nest can no longer enter there.

            Surya wept over the tragedy that came in his life and death. The cry reached the ears of Bendara Abinawa.

            “You just have to wait and believe, Surya. One day a human will come and help you save your beloved. You just have to wait for that day to come.”

            Surya as pocong 1 believes in that remark.

            “Sorry, I can't snatch the spirit of your lover.”

But every time he came and tried to help him, the effort always ended in failure. Always failing and hope that repeatedly run aground, making Surya as Pocong 1 no longer want to say the reason trapped and troublesome human who is still alive to help him.

            And today after a long wait, after repeated efforts being deployed, repeatedly hope ran aground, he said,  Surya as Pocong 1 is surprised when he hears a call from Sadewa and finds Alena along with Sadewa who carries a ball containing the spirit of her lover-Chandara.

            “Surya!” Chandara's spirit came straight out from inside the orb when it saw Surya as Pocong 1 appeared and hugged Pocong 1's body.

            “Chandara!” Pocong 1 shed her tears as she received a hug from the spirit of her faithful lover.

            “Surya, are you still faithfully waiting for me??”

            Pocong 1 nodded his head. “Of course I'm still faithfully waiting for you! You got caught by that evil creature because of me! I can't leave you when I know, you're stuck too!”

            For Alena and all the ghosts who came when hearing the call from Sadewa as durawapati, the sight was a heartwarming sight.

            “Do you want me to take off your pocong rope, Pocong 1?” Alena asks Pocong 1 after bringing Sadewa who is still unconscious into the cottage where Alena lives.

            “No. Let the task be done by durawapati. I was the man of my life, afraid that when my pocong rope was removed, you would see a part of my body.”

            Ah, I forgot about it!! Alena hit her own head for forgetting what Sadewa had said. “Sorry, I forgot about it, Pocong 1.”

            “You don't need to thank me, Pocong 1. I don't do much.” Alena looked at Sadewa who was lying on the bed unconscious. “Compared to Sadewa, I didn't do anything big. Sadewa even lost consciousness trying to help me and protect me.”

            “It's no surprise!! Calling that many soul binding chains and still having to put up a guardrail to confine genderuwo in his nest, it was an act that completely drained his energy as a human.”

            Alena smiled looking at the face of Sadewa who looks innocent like a child. “Being durawapati turns out to be a job that is not easy.”

            “Well that's not an easy task.” Pocong 1 agrees with Alena.

            Suddenly ... Alena remembered the speech of the elder genderuwo who said that Sadewa is a substitute durawapati. Alena ventured to ask Pocong 1 to get an answer to her curiosity. “Pocong 1, can I ask?”

            “What do you want to ask, Alena?”

            “A-Do you know about durawapati replacement?? Last time when I met the elder genderuwo repeatedly he said and called Sadewa as durawapati surrogate?” Alena tried asking despite not being sure she would get an answer to that question easily.

            “Hide this from durawapati, then I will tell you, Alena!” Pocong 1 spoke in a whispering tone as he glanced at Sadewa who was still unconscious. 

            “I'll keep this a secret!” meetings Alena nodded her head without thinking twice.  

            “Durawapati is a task that is dropped from father to son to the next offspring in every generation. But to bear the task .. usually durawapati trained first to take care of their physical and mental. Facing supernatural beings like us is no easy task. Being ungodly means he has two lives in two worlds: a life in which humans live and an afterlife in which we are trapped ... “

            Alena listened carefully to the explanation from Pocong 1. That explanation really caught his attention.

            “ ... Most of the men on duty were over the age of 30 years near the age of 40 years when on duty and most were married and had children. They are required to marry young and soon have offspring for successors while durawapati previously still on duty.”

            Alena frowned feeling that there was something odd about Pocong 1. “Sadewa was too young for this task when her father died, so?”

            “That's one other reason. The real reason durawapati is now called durawapati surrogate because the task as durawapati should fall to the first child of the previous durawapati.”

            “You mean?” Alena is still trying to digest Pocong 1's explanation. “Sadewa is not the first child from durawapati before?”

            Pocong 1 nodded his head. “Yes, durawapati who is now the second child of durawapati before. The first child who should have been a durawapati ran away when he first met us.”

            “Oops!” Alena closed her mouth tightly in surprise. Alena then looked towards Sadewa who was still unconscious. I didn't expect such a thing to happen!!
