Secret Admirer; In The Land Of Fairies
18. Truth Is Starting to Be Revealed

Leonal Ordt kissed my hand.

Instantly the silence jerked. There was no sound other than the atmosphere of the forest around us, also the sound of my heart beating suddenly would not be silent. My face must be red by now. My hand held by Leonal even felt trembling. I was very embarrassed, also worried that Leonal was aware of the state of my body like this. Even so, the guy did not respond to anything other than just giving a smile to me. Her charming face that was this close really made me lose my mind. Appearance, and his treatment of me, was like a prince in the movies I've seen at Mcflix. I feel like I'm being treated like a princess.

“T-lord Ordt, what just–”

My stammered speech was interrupted as the two people around us interjected with words that were no less surprised.

“Chairman Ordt! What you just did to my Kimberly!” zoe said she was protesting. My arms drawn by him were then hugged so that my distance from Leonal was no longer as close as before. Zoe may now realize that I'm not doing well - which isn't really that bad either.

Max doesn't seem to want to lose either. “Basic you, Ordt. Whenever I get a chance, I see you always do it to a beautiful woman.”

While on the other hand, Noah was just silent and looked indifferent. The guy seemed more interested in looking at something else in the forest. If only I had not been in such a difficult condition like this, I would have followed Noah's line of sight out of my curiosity. Just look at how the Borsche brothers are still trying... I don't know, protect me?

Leonal then laughed at the noise that occurred on the edge of this quiet forest. The sound of his opium laughter even made my heart beat even more clumsy. I tried to dampen it by smacking my lips and grasping Zoe's hand.

"Don't make Miss Schulz misunderstand, Mr. Borsche," Leonal said, as if trying to keep her reputation in my eyes. If what Max says is true, about Leonal treating girls the way they do to me, then I wouldn't be surprised if Leonal is a popular guy. Many of the female disciples idolized a Leonal Ordt, for sure, and I knew from how they looked with admiration at the chief disciple. “Then I wait for the help of the four of you. Especially Mr. Huxley and Miss Borsche, who are members of the committee. You two, come with me to the committee room now,” Leonal said, which again I can feel the dignity of a prince to him.

Without refuting, the two members of the committee in question then walked after Leonal Ordt, who before turning around, the chairman of the committee had given a meaningful look at me. I could hear Noah's faint snort as it passed me, making me aware of the state of one of Noah's hands that wasn't okay. I thought, how can he help Leonal? Zoe, however, is not much different. My best friend slowly let go of her arms and whispered a sentence to me if she really had to leave.

Now all that's left is me and Max, watching the three men leave in silence. In fact, when they were no longer in sight, I still looked at the unkempt gate that the wild plants had been grappling with to leave a daydream. Perhaps then Max found a concern on the expression of my face so that he faced me.

“What are you worried about?" Max opens the conversation. "If it's about Leonal Ordt, take it easy. Saying he we can hold.”

My attention was focused on Max. I was amazed at the impression Max had on Leonal, his trust in Leonal, when just a moment ago the guy had a conversation with the student leader. I was unable to hide my smile which turned into a small laugh.

“I don't think you can say that, Max. You almost had a fight with him" I said, covering my lips with my hands.

“Yah. Actually we are often like this," said Max casually while folding both hands to the back of the head. "I don't like to be restrained by rules, while he actually holds the rules firmly.”

“So." I nodded slowly. It felt like I knew them more and more, and it made me interested in the personality of each of them. Leonal Ordt and Max Borsche are like heaven and earth. "Because he's our student leader," I concluded.

“You are right," said Max agreeing, as well as closing the topic of our conversation about Leonal Ordt, because after that we did not speak anything else but contemplate with each other's minds.

The golden light coming from the afternoon sky was resuscitating me when soon the area around us would be pounced upon by the dark. Eve wasn't as warm around before I came here. The sounds of insects one night after another began to sound, clashing with each other. I decided to go to the committee room where Zoe and Noah were, accompanied by Max of course, dismissing my nervousness that was becoming more and more aware that Max and I had spent a few minutes together.

Right after we went through the stairs to the door that connects the back garden and the school building, I suddenly thought about Zoe.

"Uhm... Max's? May I ask you something about Zoe?" ask me a little doubt. I didn't stop the move. Our journey was through a large, deserted space and was directed to a corridor that I remember being the way to the front area of the building. The antique chandelier up there reminds me of a dance scene in a royal movie.

"certain. What'sthat?" max said walking beside me. Max's larger and taller body made the man seem to have made no effort at all to follow in my footsteps.

Even though I had gotten permission from Zoe's older brother, there were still doubts I felt. I tried to brush it off by venturing to ask. Besides, my curiosity no longer accommodates me, and I don't want to be a wasted friend.

"On Zoe who seems to be hiding a lot of secrets from me," I said one of the things that made me unable to sleep last night. Today, at least I should know why.

"Why do you think that?" ask Max.

"That's. I don't know, Max. Zoe never told me about her love story. Even Zoe never told me about you," I paused, didn't want to make Max think a no-no like Zoe before, "-uh, I mean, she never told me if she had a brother."

Max just listened to my story while still walking with me. It was an attitude I never knew from a Max Borsche who would normally easily respond. Or maybe, this is the other side of Max I just found out about? Is correct. I just knew him. It's not that easy to judge someone. Zoe Borsche, who I've known for years, I still don't know much about.

I continued, "I feel bad to be his best friend. When I was in McReych, Zoe used to visit my house sometimes. All I know is that we are friends from childhood. But I don't even remember our memories from Fairille."

What surprised me then was Max's sudden cessation. No sound of Max making me walk. I only realized it after a few steps in front of Max and stopped when I knew there was no Max next to me. When I looked back, I saw Max just looking at me with a gaze I could not define. I even thought Max Borsche was angry because of what I said about the guy's sister.

"Max...?" I turned around and faced the man who was about three meters away from my place. "I'm sorry. I said it wrong?"

Instead of answering my question, Max asked me something I never thought of.

"You really don't remember, Kim?"

Max's question sounded deep and sad. I could only look at Max with a clamor and silence that I could not hold back. Max walked over and stopped right in front of me. I looked up, looking into Max's eyes, which were supposed to be light, but it looked darker in a room like this. Using those eyes, the tan-colored guy looked at me with disappointment.

"Don't you remember those memories of when you grew up in Fairille, Kimberly?"
