Night has completely ruled the sky of Fairille apparently. The stars were scattered up there, adding to the relief I felt when I found out that we had arrived outside the school building. I no longer feel the tension in the body, although the pain in my head is sometimes still felt, but not as severe as before. I might be able to enjoy the diversity of flowers and the moon reflected in the pool water if only I no longer felt the effects of shock. All this time, I've never seen a brother fight, because Ezra and I have never been at odds.
“Did they sometimes fight like that?” ask me after it dawned on Noah no longer holding me.
“Entahlah. I've never seen them fight before,” Noah said without staring at me. He pulled both hands into his pants pocket.
Hearing Noah's confession, I lowered my head. I saw a parcel from Max in my arms biting my lower lip, regretting myself for unconsciously making them fight.
“Not to think about. It's not your fault,” Noah said as he glanced at me. Without another word, the man then began to step towards the path between the trees towards our dormitory.
“Tapi–”
Not wanting to be left, I followed and began to line up Noah's steps longer than me because the guy with glasses had a high body–not as tall and as big as Max, he said, but his dashing posture reminded me of the catwalk model I had seen at a fashion show while I was at McReych, minus his hand, one of which was being casted for injury. Even if Noah became a photo model also felt very suitable, let alone the fear gaze needed for a photo model, it was very natural on Noah's gaze.
Like the gaze Noah gave me at this moment.
Gawat, I unconsciously kept watching him from now on!
“They fought because of me. So it's natural that if I feel guilty,” said I while forcing myself by still staring at him, before pulling a look and looking forward as natural as possible. Though my heart was already beating uneasily when caught, but my pretenses managed to cover it up.
Might as well.
“You're right. Your fault. Just keep thinking about that. After all it will not make their quarrels end,” said Noah full of sarcasm.
“Ugh, you're this,” I'm upset.
Splashing from a distance began to sound clashing with rustling leaves from the trees around us. Soon we will be able to see the bridge across the small river. Unfortunately when I had not reached it, suddenly my gaze swayed. Instead of stopping, I just keep walking so that I unknowingly tripped over a rock that made me lose my balance. Noah immediately grabbed me into his arms before I fell. Luckily I wasn't too careless to remove the parcel from the grip of both my arms.
“You are still recovering like that,” Noah told me.
“Iya..Sorry. I'm a little dizzy,” I said weakly.
Noah then led me to a bench by the river not far from us so I could rest. Aided by the illumination from one of the garden lights scattered along the road to the dormitory, I could see the surface of the river water before us reflecting the shadows of the trees and the night sky. While enjoying the song of the insect and its martyrdom around, I opened the parcel of Max that was on top of my lap. When I saw the contents, it turned out to be a cupcake. There is one word written on each cake, which if assembled will all form the sentence I’m-Sorry-Kim.
My soft smile is broken. Thinking, if Max must be really sorry. Zoe was probably too hard on her brother.
“Why are you smiling at that cake?” ask Noah suddenly.
My head turned to Noah. The guy seemed surprised by my behavior. Does she think I'm crazy for smiling?
I'm beating behind my hand.
“I just feel happy to be given a cake by Max kok.”
Unknowingly, I smiled again and picked up one of the cakes covered in pink cream with strawberries and colorful prinkles grains on it. I can't hide my love for the cake Max gave me. In fact, the cupcake I gave to Noah.
“For you. Because it helped me. Thank you, Noah,” I said sincerely.
“No. Thank you." Thank you." The look on Noah's face twisted. His thick eyebrows also shriveled. "I don't like sweet food,” continued the guy.
“No way–," my surprised face suddenly changed mafhum, "-oh right, a person like you is natural if you do not like sweet foods,” I said while nodding knowingly and started eating the cupcake that Noah had just rejected. Sweet cream combined with make strawberry and soft bread melted in the mouth. I feel very happy.
“What do you mean ‘people like you’?” noah asked full of questions.
I just smiled at Noah while still enjoying the most delicious cupcakes I've ever met, so I thought the best cake shop in McReych just lost.
“It's so good, Noah. You should try it even if you don't like sweet foods.”
“No.”
Again, Noah refused. However, I pretended not to hear and continued chattering.
“Oh, this seems like a kapucino.” flavor There was one chocolate-colored cupcake that caught my attention. I thought it was chocolate, but when it smelled like coffee, I immediately thought that maybe Noah liked it. “Try one.”
A cake with a round biscuit on it and I thrust it at the guy.
“You're the one forcedor huh?”
“Oh. Come onl. I just want to share a good meal with you." In between Noah's silence while staring for a moment at the cupcake that was still in my hand, I realized that one of Noah's hands that were cupped might make it difficult for him to eat. "Do you want me to answer?" kataku.
"No need," he replied, grabbing a cupcake from me. He then looked at writing ‘Kim’ there. After spending a few seconds in contemplation, hesitantly he bit the cake and chewed slowly. Highlighting my curious eyes he asked as Noah swallowed the cake with great difficulty.
Suddenly a loud sound restrained from the mouth of the man who was putting the back of his hand that was still holding the cupcake in front of his mouth. His paled face looked tormented. A bitter smile on Noah's face was then given to me. I knew right away that he didn't like it at all.
“How can you eat food like this? It's so sweet" said Noah, putting on a tormented look.
“How can you not eat this best food?” I sighed, then shook my head dramatically. However, I understand enough that not everyone likes sweet foods, and I can't force it on Noah. I also smiled with regret. “Sorry, Noah.”
“No problem. Actually I used to love food like this,” said Noah.
“Cannot be!” my words don't believe.
“Why are you surprised like that?" Noah grunts.. The guy's look was stupefied. "But that was before. Not anymore.”
I blinked my eyelids a few times, slightly tilting my head towards Noah. “You should tell me why. Maybe I can help you like it again. Why?” I said, this time it was a bit pushy.
“No need to bother," reject Noah raw. "After all consuming too much sugar is not healthy.”
Despite feeling shunned because I do like sweet foods like this, I nodded in agreement. “You have a point too" I said sounding moody.
Then suddenly Noah went back to eating the cupcake. Although the meal was fast, the way it was eaten was neat and left no traces of cream on the side of his mouth. In fact, Noah can independently remove the cake from his container. I saw him in disbelief, let alone realize Noah had devoured the cupcake.
“N-Noah when you don't have to force it if you don't like it," I said hurriedly, worried that Noah would spit out the cake again.
“It's okay. Can't waste food, ugh," he said cut off, apparently holding something back, "after all it's your cupcake.”
I certainly can't understand it. 'Cupcake gave you', which means my gift. Why why anyway? It was strange to hear that from Noah's mouth. Though the Noah I knew after these few days was a cold guy who sucks, but I never thought he had such a sweet side.
“Have not eaten yet? For a long time, I just left,” said Noah suddenly who immediately pulled me into a reality.
The fact that Noah is such a bitch!
“You love to leave me!”
I ate the remaining cupcakes. Enjoying a night view like this, it was reassuring yes. Simplicity is unparalleled. I only realized after living in Fairille. If a place like this was in a big city like McReych, it would definitely not last long. Many young people will come along and create content or something like that that will break down. I want to protect this place.
Bizarrely. Though Noah and I were only on a bench on the bank of a small river, but I could have thought that far.
Until the cupcake in the hand was exhausted and all that was left was the container that I then returned to the package, following the other two containers.
“Back to dorm?” finally said.
Instead of agreeing to my invitation, Noah raised his chin towards me. “There's a cream stuck to your cheek tuh.”
“Where?” my many. “Uh. I didn't bring a tissue.”
Just as I was about to clean it with the edge of my palm, Noah held my hand.
“Stupid. If it is like that it will dirty your hands.”
Noah took a handkerchief and cleaned the cream that was stuck to my cheek. Do it gently. I was fixated, especially when I felt my lips touched by a handkerchief that had a distinctive fragrance of its owner. More and more unexpected with Noah's nature hidden behind his cold attitude.
“Basic people city. Though it is more practical to use a handkerchief like this than a tissue," Noah booed suddenly. He then stuffed the handkerchief into the palm of my hand. "Wear it yourself to clean your dirty hands.”
However, still his annoying attitude is still attached to the guy. Somehow every time I think well about Noah, it just breaks.
“Maybe you mean more eco-friendly. If practical, is not more practical a tissue because it immediately disposes?” I said while grumbling and wiping the handkerchief on my palm in annoyance.
“Well. You know that," Noah said in a mocking tone.
“Basically yes you are." I folded the handkerchief and intended to put it in the bag. "I'll wash your handkerchief first. Ah, I remember the handkerchief Tommy.” lent me
“Not necessary. You could've ruined it," Noah said.
I stood up and stuck my tongue out. Perhaps in a short time, Noah repeatedly rejected my good intentions. Actually I wanted to go straight to the dorm and leave it back, but I realized one thing I didn't find around.
"Where's my bag?"
