I felt heavy on my eyelids as I was freed from the soothing pitch. The light I saw slowly became clear. Apparently, I was in a room I had never been to before. The warmth in my hand made me realize that someone was holding it. When I looked slowly, the figure I found was Zoe Borsche. The first obvious worry on the sweet face was then filled with a happy smile when I knew my situation.
"Yahmbo! I'm glad you're dead."
"Zoe..," I said weakly with a hoarse voice. I'm trying to get up. "What happened-uh." However, a painful pulse suddenly struck my head so that my body that had been lifted was restrained. Zoe immediately restrained my movements and helped me lean on the head-bed. My best friend gave me a glass of water. For a moment, I just looked at her before realizing that I was thirsty. I then accepted it and took a sip of it. "Where is this?" ask me later after giving Zoe a glass.
"It's in the school health room. You passed out with Max" Zoe said, putting a glass on the nightstand. "Didn't you remember?"
Zoe's right. I was with Max, with him, about to see how Zoe and Noah were taken away by Leonal. But now Zoe is here, with me. When I turned to the window, the dark sky started to hang in the sky, but there was still a remnant of light in the western horizon.
"How long have I been sleeping? Oh, forget about that. Are you all right, Zoe? What about Noah?" A shadow of Noah's annoying face entered his head. I can't believe I showed Noah my concern in front of Zoe. "Mr Ordt is a good man, he doesn't ask you to do hard work, does he?"
Instead of an answer, what I got from Zoe was a soft pinch on both of my cheeks. While pouting, the girl then spoke her protest words.
"You didn't sleep, you fainted, Kim! Instead of worrying about us, you should be worried about your own circumstances." Zoe then freed my cheeks and moved her hand to pull the curtain behind the chair she was sitting on. The figure of a guy then entered into my view. "Well, no, Noah?"
The guy sitting on the edge of the empty bed was really Noah. Noah Huxley's. Did I not see wrong? As usual, there was no pleasant expression on the look of the guy. However, her shifting eyes and her face that turned the other way after we met, made me realize that I was looking at her for too long. I hurriedly looked back at Noah and went back to Zoe.
If Noah was there, then he heard what I said to Zoe, right? You shitty guy, why does he have to hide behind the curtain!
"Why are you here?" I asked, somehow so stamped. Through the tail of my eyes, I could see Noah who was still in his place, but I tried to ignore him.
Also ignored my embarrassment because it was caught looking for the guy.
"You passed out, and Max brought you here. We were hanging out with him in the corridor. Max said, you were in pain before you fainted" Zoe said.
I was stunned to remember the incident, even in the shadow I saw earlier, about the terrible fire. The more I remembered the details, the puddle of tears involuntarily made my vision blurry. I blinked until the circle fell. Zoe said something, but a commotion in the shadow of the fire I suddenly saw was taking over. When it was like a big mace hit my head, my hand immediately grabbed it.
Again, I felt the heat and the heat all around me. However, as Zoe's voice screamed, I was drawn back to reality.
"Yesterlies!"
My wide eyes looked at Zoe. The girl surnamed Borsche then hugged me and rubbed my shoulders gently. His whisper to me afterwards made me wail.
"Calm down, Kimberly. There I am here. I already know from Max. You don't have to remember that anymore."
Again, my tears are dripping. After hearing Zoe's words, I realized that fear was trying to harass me. I'm starting to sniff. If only I could, I would not want to show my weakness in front of anyone other than my best friend. Noah was still there, and I was crying right now. However, in the end the man moved from his seat and chose to leave without saying a single word. When I saw his back drifting away, my sedu started getting out of control again.
Tens of minutes, Zoe let me release my emotions. There was no talk between us, all Zoe did was listen to my sobbing and try to calm me down by rubbing my back. When I feel calm, then I slowly release his arms to me.
"You're better?" zoe asked as she cleaned up the trail of my tears with her handkerchief.
I also nodded. To be honest I was a little embarrassed to look at her, but I forced myself and thanked her slowly.
Not long after, the sound of knocking on the door sounded. When the door opened, a large tall man with similar eyes belonging to Zoe went inside. His friendly smile made the atmosphere better, I even returned it with a smile and greeting to the guy. A parcel from Max's hand was placed on the nightstand next to my bed.
Before I could get over Max's regret, Zoe answered first.
"Max! What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you not to show up in front of Kimberly?"
"Huh? Why why anyway? Kim doesn't mind, either" chirped Max as he turned away from me. The guy's eyebrows shot up next to his sister's.
Although I was surprised and confused by the attitude of the Borsche brothers who suddenly did not get along, I agreed Max's words while no longer leaning. This tension kept me from staying still and ended up sitting on the edge of the bed. Putting aside the veins on my head that are actually still acting.
"I'm really fine, Zoe. Why can't Max see me?" I asked carefully, trying to chant a neutral tone so as not to offend Zoe.
"Of course it's because Max told you too much, so it hurt you, Kim!" his aggression made me gasp.
What Zoe said may not be wrong. I had indeed fainted after trying to recall the tragedy that had even taken away my memories. The only person who dared to share our sad story at that time was only Max, when perhaps Max also did not want to remember it anymore.
"T-quiet, Zoe. Max is wrong. I forced him to tell me," I said slightly trembling, trying to calm the still-emotional Zoe.
"No. It must be Max who told you about it at first. Isn't that right, Max?" accuse Zoe.
Max silent. At first glance the man seemed to be immersed in his own thoughts.
"You're right, Zoe. I started it" said Max.
"Aah! I know it! Why, Max? Why did you do it? You know for yourself, don't you think Kim could relapse?" racau Zoe again, as if not to stop blaming her older brother.
"I'm sorry, Kim. I thought you were okay," Max admitted.
"It's okay, Max. Don't think. I was-the"
"No, Kim. It's a problem, I still haven't forgiven Max for what he did to you!" hardik Zoe's.
"Why are you the one with the problem?!" look Max, the volume of his voice does not want to lose to Zoe.
"H-hey, you two. Quit."
The Borsche brothers didn't hear me. They just keep fighting and don't care around. They might not even realize that I'm standing up, intending to break up. Trying to ease their quarrels also felt impossible. The jolt-by-jolt between the two that filled the air space rendered me helpless. I staggered back, then it struck me that a hand was holding my back.
"Let them go" said someone who turned out to be Noah.
I couldn't say anything, just the confused look I gave Noah who was standing so close to me. The guy then grabbed the parcel on the nightstand and gave it to me, before pulling me away from the Borsche brothers' commotion that might not stop anytime soon.
