There was only a parcel from Max that had contained the cupcake I was carrying. Noah, however, brought his own bag.
“Staying in the health room,” replied Noah without intonation.
After I remembered, my bag was near my feet while lying on the medical bed. As we were about to leave the infirmary, instead of grabbing my bag, Noah picked up the cupcake. However, seeing how the mess of the quarrel was, Noah whose one hand was clad in a cast could only reach the parcel without being able to get through Zoe and Max blocking the way to my bag. I also cursed him.
My only regret is actually one.
“But my phone is in that bag, and tonight there's a movie on Mcflix that I want to watch" I said with a small whimper.
Right, cellphone.
I let out a breath. Even though I may feel healthier than I was a while ago, I don't want to go back to the school building. Besides still not wanting to deal with the atmosphere among the Borsche brothers, I also did not want to trouble Noah more than this.
Noah was already too tormented with the cupcakes he had eaten. I'm afraid he is holding back nausea or stomach pain because it could have been healthy digestion with the owner: equally do not like sweet foods.
“Just because of your phone? Not because you want to revisit a lesson or do an assignment?” said Noah, bombarding with two questions that slightly offended me.
I glanced at Noah lazily. Little pout. "Yes. Today is duty free. I heard from one of the teachers that they deliberately did not give the assignment because soon there is a school celebration. But nevermind. We go back to the dorms.”
My feet began to step forward, towards the small bridge that became the construction that would lead us to the dormitory.
“You sure?” asked Noah while following me so we could cross the bridge together.
“Yeah," I replied briefly.
“You won't miss your phone?” ask Noah again. I almost lost patience with that question.
“You are why the hell? Of course not... will,” answered me in the end hesitating.
Because after all the thing called smart phone is no longer in my hands, no longer close to me. Though all this time I almost always take it everywhere and I can not get away with 'nya'. I know this will sound excessive, but how could I possibly be so far away with my 'favour?
“What if there is an important phone later?”
Noah's question just got more and more complicated. It was as if he could read my mind. What if one of my friends at McReych calls me?
Slapped on the fact that I got before, I groaned in annoyance.
“Already, Noah. No one will call me anyway. The only person who cares about me is already living in one city with me" I sneered at the fate that was befalling me. I should be happy enough now. Ought to.
“You mean Zoe Borsche?” asked Noah again, this time I heard the doubt in his words.
“Whose else is it?” I said with a rather high tone.
I don't know why, I can't hold back my emotions. Disappointment began to creep all over me as I recalled how the three friends I had considered friends at McReych no longer contacted me. Marsha, Sophie, and Felly–how are they? I started walking with long and hasty steps. The grunt of my frustration was repeatedly gruff. Noah seemed to be putting in a little effort to line up my steps and occasionally glanced at me without a sound.
I who noticed the awkwardness between the two of us then broke the silence.
“Sorry. I only remember my friends at McReych no longer replying to my messages. Before we got here, we were very familiar. I didn't think I was dumped.” I grinned bitterly, at first I turned to the flowers hanging above the one we were going through, then to Noah who was looking at me with an undefined look. “Dan left, only Zoe.”
I never thought I could tell that to anyone, to Noah Huxley who was sometimes annoying, but sometimes reliable. Even that question I didn't tell Zoe.
“You can get me into one of them,” Noah said suddenly.
My eyes widened, I couldn't believe what Noah said just now. My brain can't even process it properly. I doubt. My ears didn't catch me wrong, did they?
However, the concerned had just walked away in front, almost past the boundary of the trees that were directly facing the side area of the dormitory.
“T-wait, Noah. What do you mean?!” I said while running after.
“No repetition," said Noah flat.
"Huh. You're this!" I said protest.
I nodded in annoyance while looking straight ahead. Even so, there was a sense of pleasure that slowly burst into the chest. For a moment, I glanced at Noah, and subconsciously my lips curled a gentle smile.
...***...
Last night, after separating from Noah, I headed straight for the room. Noah couldn't get me to my room, so he sent me to the housekeeper to get me safely. At first I didn't want to, but the guy was pushy.
When I got to my room, I cleaned up without dinner. Two cupcakes that I ate accompanied Noah on the river bank were actually able to make me full, so I deliberately missed dinner. That's why I immediately hit the mattress, hugged my doll, and then easily fell asleep because the thing that usually accompanied me to spend time before bed was not in my hands.
"Ah. My sleep is good once~”
I stretched and stretched my body after I got out of bed. Then I pulled out the curtains and opened the window so that I could breathe the soothing morning air. In fact, not using a cell phone before going to bed, makes the quality of my sleep better.
From where I was, I could see the busyness of nature around: birds chasing each other, a squirrel running on a tree branch, even some students who were jogging in the morning. If only I had woken up earlier, maybe I could have jogged along with them. Considering there is a plan to explore the forest, then I should prepare physically so as not to trouble others.
Max's body is so muscular and sexy, did I ask to be taught that guy?
When I thought of something no-no, I shook my head. Both of my hands compactly pinched each of my cheeks which turned out to have warmed up. Uh. I shouldn't have thought of such a thing, let alone given the relationship of the Borsche brothers who are not getting along.
If Zoe and Max are still acting like they were yesterday, maybe all I have to do is think of a way to fix their relationship. Because after all, the fight happened because of me. For now I will get ready and go to school early. In addition to wanting to pick up a bag that might have been left in the infirmary, I wanted to take the locker key from the teacher's room that I hadn't taken yesterday.
...***...
Upon arrival at school, I immediately took the keys in the teacher's room and went straight to the wide hallway where the students' lockers were located. Collecting a few bags is not a bad hobby. Beige backpacks with fur ball hangers I wear as a substitute for my bag that is left behind.
“One-five-six, one-five-six,” murmured slowly while walking sideways to find the number I meant in the locker. That's my locker number.
Suddenly I hit someone who seemed to have been there without me knowing. Someone then staggered. Fortunately before I could reach out, he quickly faced me and lowered his head without even looking at me. Instead of demanding an apology from me, it was someone who apologized to me.
“M-forgive me. I'm really sorry,” he said full of regrets. There was fear in his words, astonished me and drew closer to the petite girl than me.
“Why are you apologizing? I should have apologized to you for hitting. I'm sorry,” I said gently, being careful not to make the girl even more afraid.
“Uh-oh.” The girl besides looking scared also looked clumsy. I realized it when he tried to raise his head, but the almond eyes behind the round glasses would not point at me. The girl seemed to be very frightened. Am I creepy for that girl?
“Do you get sick?” ask her. “Why do you seem to avoid me?”
“Not–I just—oh,” suddenly, the girl wants to look at me, and looks surprised. His eyes widened towards me. “You are a new kid named Kimberly Schulz!”
“Oh, you finally spoke. And you–” my eyebrows raised, my smile accompanies her, “know me?”
“Of course, no one does not know you,” said the girl was more relaxed and sounded a little cheerful.
Instantly I was astonished. Not because of the girl's changing circumstances, but the information I heard: no one doesn't know me. How come? Even though I wouldn't deny that it might be true since ever since I set foot in this school, so many pairs of eyes were directed at me.
I am so excited to know more.
“How can it?” manya curious.
“M-forgive me.” The girl hurriedly back down her head and faced the locker after seeing something shocking her behind my back.
When I looked back, I found three girls laughing together, like they were telling me funny things, reminding me of my good times with Marsha, Sophie, and Felly at McReych.
Ignoring my friends, I went back to those three girls. As I looked further, I realized that one in three girls dominated: a beautiful girl with her long platino hair and gray eyes under her lashes, which reminded me of someone,
Frederick Elford.
When our eyes accidentally met a glance, he suddenly stopped his chat with his friends. Instead of moving on, he stopped in his path closest to me and suddenly startled me with his words.
“Kimberly Schulz.”
The sound that was flowing sounded melodious and smooth.
“Kau–” her beautiful grin slowly rises on those reddish lips, “-inappropriate here."
