“Fold.” Eventually Chiara gave up the rest of her money and chose to give up.
Some of the people who looked at the table were screeched disappointed, as if expecting a greater defeat from the girl. But Chiara was determined to end her game here. Therefore, when the cup was about to hand out the cards for the next round, Chiara stood up from her seat.
Unexpected things happen. Some of the spectators who had been clutching at Chiara's desk suddenly stood tightly before the girl. They were like trying to prevent Chiara from leaving, and sitting back playing.
Chiara was not sure whether her thoughts were wrong or not. But the facial expressions of those people who were staring at him sharply seemed to confirm his conjecture. They all wanted to see Chiara destroyed.
Anger mixed with panic filled Chiara's mind. He did not want to realize the evil hopes of these people. The rest of the chips can only be used for one more application. That is also if the opponent does not constantly raise the bet. It is clearly impossible to win. Chiara did not want to go home in debt.
And so, with all her strength, Chiara tried to shake off the people who pushed her. The crowd gathered at the table was already very numerous. Chiara painstakingly slipped between the cracks of the people who were standing tight.
Several times Chiara felt herself being pushed back. He was about to fall into a trample when his wrist was clasped by someone. Chiara is not sure who pulled her. But the man is now taking him out of the crowd.
While continuing to jostle, Chiara finally managed to burst out. Apparently Ben who had just pulled his hand. Now the man was standing so close to her.
“Quick get out of here and don't come back,” whispered Ben as he let go of his hand.
Chiara. Immediately after escaping from the crowd, Chiara walked quickly towards the exit. He didn't even exchange his chips first. Everyone in that place stared at him so sharply from all directions. Chiara felt like her back was about to burn because of all the cynical gazes directed at her.
After those tense moments, Chiara finally made it out of the Venetian. He immediately went to the antique store to remove his disguise. I don't know why he doesn't feel completely safe. The girl walked half-run through the stone path.
And sure enough, shortly after walking, Chiara realized that her fast pace rhythm seemed to be followed from behind. Chiara tried to run, and the people who followed her ran. The girl is still safe simply because now they are in the middle of a crowd of people passing by on the main street.
In a moment, when it was about to reach the antique shop, the streets would start to be deserted. Chiara might not be able to sneak behind the crowd anymore. Therefore, recklessly, the girl took off her high heels just like that. She lifted up her skirt that expanded like a birdcage, then ran as fast as she could. She no longer needed to pretend to maintain her elegance as a lady.
The people who were chasing Chiara came running fast. The girl tried to outwit her pursuers by turning in one of the different alleys than usual, then into the shopping area and returned to the highway. Unfortunately, the plan failed.
Two mustachioed burly men were waiting for Chiara behind the alley. Sontak Chiara stopped his steps and intended to turn back before it was too late. Unfortunately, the other man who had followed him was now behind Chiara's back.
The three men looked at each other with a grin. One of them, who had wounds on his face, finally answered Chiara's question.
“We are the ones who will collect all your debts in Venetian,”.
“I have no debts in Venetian!” pekik Chiara defended herself. He never owed anything.
The man snorted short, full of reproach. “You think just because you play smartly and always carry a lot of money, does that mean you're just lucky? That is debt! We owe you millions of pieces of gold. Just imagine, how many pieces of gold have you stolen from us?
“Over the years we let all of you go because there is a sponsor who is willing to vouch for you. But now your sponsor has stopped funding. That means, all your debts you have to pay yourself,” explained the man as he chuckled. He pulled out a small dagger from his pocket and slowly approached Chiara. Two other colleagues also surrounded him. Chiara started to panic because there was no way out for her anymore.
“Ta, but I don't have any more money. You see for yourself I have lost terribly,” said Chiara trying to keep buying time and looking for a way out. But he couldn't find any ideas to escape.
“Then you can pay with your body, Little Girl.” The man laughed menacingly. The three ambushed Chiara simultaneously.
The girl tried to smack her fists, hoping that her hand could become a thorny mace again. Of course nothing happened. Such magical things usually happen only when Chiara does not think about it. Chiara's two hands were now just hovering in an uncertain direction. Hit the empty air without making the three men feel threatened.
Finally, in one ambush, Chiara was successfully summarized. One of the mustachioed men hit the girl's nape unconscious. The last thing Chiara saw was just the cruel laughter full of ridicule from the three kidnappers.
Chiara wakes up in a dark room with her hands and feet tied. His mouth was also smothered with a disgusting wet cloth. While his face was covered using a black cloth that made him breathless.
Chiara tried to fight. But what came out was only an indistinct muttering sound from his mouth that was tightly sealed by a cloth. He realized he was lying somewhere soft, like a fancy goose mattress. The smell of roses and muskiness made Chiara even more suspicious.
He wanted to look out but both of his hands were tied back. The girl could only squirm, trying to move around using her entire body. Like snakes. It was the only way for Chiara to be able to move.
However, just a few minutes wrestling with his entire body, he suddenly heard the sound of the door opening, followed by footsteps approaching. Chiara immediately fell silent. He was afraid to move because he could not predict who was coming. His mind was empty, unable to think anything. Only the sound of his heart was pounding violently due to unbearable anxiety.
