At seven o'clock, dinner at the Rein family residence began. Rein only lives with her father because her mother has died since she was seven. Her workaholic father had no interest in remarrying, and that resulted in Rein becoming an only child with no siblings. Due to the quiet atmosphere of his house, Rein's father occasionally invited the Chiara family to eat together. The luxurious and spacious house of the Rein family was finally enlivened by the sound of jokes or whining Chiara sisters.
Sometimes Chiara felt so envious of Rein that the young man seemed to have everything. His life is well-to-do, he has a good father and dozens of servants who meet all his needs. In fact, he also has his own antique shop to channel his hobby of collecting valuable objects.
However, as Chiara introduced Rein, the girl was no longer envious. Rein was as lonely as Chiara. Her father was very busy, while the maids were completely unbelievable. Several times a year, Rein is tried for murder. Many people are targeting their families because of their wealth. Rein can't trust anyone, including his servant or his other peers. The only person he trusted was Chiara.
It was for this reason that Chiara eventually became close to Rein and told him about his gambling activities at the casino. Rein never forbade Chiara from doing that. Instead the young man helped her by providing a secret shelter in an antique shop. Rein has also always been happy to let Chiara use her name as an excuse to get out of the house. The only person Chiara could rely on the most in this world was her little friend.
“Rein, thank you for accompanying Chiara all morning. You even bothered to give him a gift when the child was just messing up,” Chiara's mother said suddenly.
The long dining table with seven pairs of chairs facing each other was immediately deserted. Everyone watched Rein, waiting for the young man's answer. Rein glanced at Chiara with an expression that was difficult to explain. Chiara acted calm despite being so panicked in her heart. The girl could only code through a look in the eye, hoping that Rein could read her mind.
Tell me I was with you all day. You asked me to help clean up the shop. Inner Chiara glared at Rein, hoping that the young man could figure out the contents of her mind.
But Rein certainly did not have the telepathic abilities Chiara had hoped for. The young man was only able to beat awkwardly to buy time and think of the reason Chiara usually threw.
“Of course, Auntie. From morning the customer kept coming until I was overwhelmed. That's why I asked Chiara to come and help me serve them. You know, to judge antiques, we can't just trust the waiters,” Rein said later.
Chiara hissed long while muttering softly. “Basic fool,” his hiss in a barely audible whisper.
“Didn't you guys tidy up the store and put up a new storefront? Can it be done when there are many customers?” ask Chiara's mother again.
Automatic Rein looked at Chiara who was already glaring back at him. Chiara's small mouth was muttering various murmurs without sound. Rein could only shrug his shoulders faintly while putting on an expression that seemed to say ‘How do I know you made up that excuse?’.
“Iya, right, Aunt. Chiara did initially come to help install the storefront. Then after all finished our store immediately filled with buyers,” let Rein look for reasons.
“Thomas said all day there was no one to come but five thugs from the casino. Why they always bother our store.” Suddenly Rein's father also spoke to deliver a report that had been sent by the butler of their family. Thomas usually visits to check the store once a day to see the bookkeeping and the state of the store.
You told Thomas that people from the casino came to your shop? Didn't you just tell me they were after me? Said Chiara in the language of gaze at Rein.
This time, Rein was somehow able to understand the intent of Chiara's facial expression glaring at him sharply.
I told him because I took out the royal stamp. He asked and I answered without thinking. Sahut Rein also used the language of eye gazing while again shrugging his shoulders.
Ii'm sorry. Those were Rein's last words before Chiara turned her eyes away.
“It looks like the kids are hiding something from us. Adults should not take care of young people. As long as they don't make trouble, let it go,” Rein's father said later.
“You're right. Asal Kara with Rein, of course I will not be too worried,” said her mother then followed by a nod of agreement by her husband.
Chiara gave a sigh of relief. Finally the matter was resolved without causing a huge commotion. Next time Chiara should remember to discuss with Rein about the reason for her departure. So this kind of thing doesn't have to happen again.
After finishing eating the main dish in the form of roasted turkey, dessert was served. Cool pineapple sorbet with fresh fruity cut decoration. Chiara is not very appetizing to eat dessert. He used to eat a little because in his own home, he had to share food with his three younger brothers. It seems that because of that the capacity of Chiara's hull is getting smaller and smaller.
The girl just poked her desert spoon into the pineapple sorbet without even bribing it. Rein who saw him immediately knew that Chiara was no taste. The young man put down his own spoon and showed that he had finished eating.
“Dad, I'm done. Can I take Kara to read in the library? It just so happened that there was a new item that we were interested in at the store. I want to discuss it with Kara while looking for a source of information from the library,” pinta Rein requests permission.
Chiara looked up at her best friend who was immediately replied with a prickly blink. It seemed like this was Rein's request for negligence earlier. At least Chiara can escape the obligation to spend her food.
“Yes, pergola. Are you done eating, Kara?” ask Rein's father to turn around to question Chiara.
The girl hurriedly nodded politely in response. “Already, Sir. I am full,” Chiara replied as she placed her spoon carefully.
“Then have fun. Let the waiter bring snacks and the to the library,” continued the host while waving at his servant.
A female servant in black uniform with a white apron immediately nodded and left the dining room to prepare cookies and tea for Rein and Chiara. Meanwhile the two of them had already risen to their feet and walked away from the dining room after saying their farewells politely.
“Your reasons are outrageous, Kara. How can you make me like a wicked employer who told you to clean up the store?” rein protested after the two of them had already walked down the corridor, away from everyone.
“Your reasons are more unreasonable. Since when are your stores filled with customers? In a month alone there are not necessarily five buyers,” denied Chiara did not accept.
They both laughed together. It felt so light when alone with Rein, as if the matter of his life was lifted up just like that. Sometimes Chiara felt lucky to have a friend like that young man.
